You'd think the neighbours would kick up a stink (😂) about the bonfires? Seriously, surprised he can get away with continual burning.......
The eternal problem of people assuming a tractor and trailer can go anywhere.They use to move quick enough when I told them the bales weighed 1/2 ton and although tied down I couldn't guarantee they wouldn't fall on their car. 🙃
I do like seeing the 695 out the shed being used makes me smile reminds me of the 885xl I used to use on the farm when left school
Agree 100 percent on the mirrors should be mandatory on the test, and there should be a section on night time driving as well, the amount of people forgetting to dip headlights to oncoming traffic is shocking sometimes
@@Irishopel One of my pet hates is sitting in traffic with my hand break on, being blinded by the thoughtless nob in front who would rather sit with his or her foot on the pedal.

@@FarmerP, car manufacturers don’t help. Our auto-transmission Mondeo has the obligatory engine stop/start system, but it only works when the car is held stationary on the foot brake. If you apply the handbrake and release the foot brake, the damned thing starts up again. It’s a good job I don’t like the stop/start system anyway, as I was taught to apply the handbrake if stationary for any length of time like at traffic lights, and still drive that way.
Takes me back a few yrs hauling round bales, we hauled back over 500 once from one sight 9.5 miles each way, B roads at each end of the journey, some car drivers can be brilliant and know where reverse gear is and how to use it. Others would zig zag back road getting hanged up in hedges. Not all female or old either. I still reverse by mirrors even with trailers keep promising to fit myself a camera on the back of my big trailer.😄 Glad you had your farm manager along side you Ian Biscuit is clearly a key member to the operation.

Hi Ian, I started driving on private land as a kid and really enjoyed it, I drove a Ferguson tractor trailers, rear steer Thwaites dumpers, cars and van, all with different controls like gear lever position and vision limits. I took pride in driving and giving my passengers a smooth ride. It yet my mates seemed to just use cars as transport and not as part of life, I honed my skill by taking the Advanced Drivers Course which reduced my insurance and taught me observation. This in turn meant I let off the gas and let the idiot in front do his/her thing and leave me alone.

Many Years and thousands of miles on a motorcycle taught me observation and road reading, I learned to reverse a trailer on a tractor mower, used to park folks caravans for them when I was a teenager, I don’t remember actually learning to use mirrors, it just came naturally. I too took pride in offering a safe comfortable ride to my passengers….. Once I had got the Stirling Moss phase out of my system 😄

One thing always on the check list BISKIT. Berkshire farm girl had a problem driver, driver would not pull over on to the grass verge. I wonder how people passed their test 😂😂. A loaded trailer needs space.

Watching Sundays "Live" and heard you comment about "The Stench" - so no big reveal - I understand your reasons. Was there less bouncing with the front weight when towing a full load? Drove less than 5 miles to see my mate last Saturday. Three Fiat 500's (very small cars) all driving like they were in a combine with a 12ft header. 😹😹😹

@@AaronColton-vh3ny I really liked that tractor. Mind you for towing and loader work the MF 5S was just as good, the ventilation and gearbox on the T5 nudged it first past the post though.

I had that reversing argument with the boss man’s son… if you can’t reverse with mirrors you can’t drive! You can tell the difference in people with different tractors, our T5 doesn’t the respect the MB trac has … I think the black smoke helps though 😆😁

Hi MR, P Farmer Phil could use your help with how soon to spared wood chip mixed with straw. You know about trees and chips and you use them all the time. I think he would like to know how long it takes for the wood chips to rot down enough to spread on the field.

All depends on the type of chip, percentage mixed with straw and volume of muck. Plus the soil type and PH, it’s the lignin content of the chip that slows the process, urea (urine) will break down the cellulose. Spreading it too soon will suck Nitrogen out of the soil and reduce fertility.

Some people don't know what reverse is they think the R on the gearstick is for rocket. Would you not invest in a few steering balls for the tractors just an idea 👍

I will usually back up for a lady, even if it’s my right of way, unless she has a way shorter trip than myself. All I ask in return is a smile 🙂

Don't think the front weights have cut the bounce much. The route the trailer takes is basic geometry.
