- Anne Haug has an obsession. Living at the German Olympic training centre since 2013, the 2019 Ironman World Champion only has one thing in her diary: triathlon.
Having entered the world of professional triathlon somewhat late, Haug is seemingly defying time as each year she seems to get better. Now at 40 years old, Haug has not finished outside the top three in any race since July 2018 (when she finished fourth!). The German finished last season as the PTO World No.1 and has targeted the opening race of the 2023 PTO Tour - the PTO European Open in Ibiza - to continue her push as the greatest female triathlete in the world.
'Beyond Human: The Series' will follow the world's greatest triathletes as they compete in the biggest and hardest races the triathlon race schedule has to offer. Get to know their unique personalities as they pursue glory across the globe, whilst facing all the challenges that the life of a professional athlete throws their way.
This is not just an evolution of a sport. This is the evolution of human ability.

Yes! Give Haug her flowers already! ❤ her words: she chooses this, recognizes privilege of being a pro, takes on challenges and doesn’t fear failure. The light in her eyes when she said to win (Ibiza) would make her “maybe the best overall triathlete” speaks volumes. She’s found her calling and I, for one, am in awe!

Ann Haug can zig zag, she says the title is in the bag do not lag behind or sag cause she will nag… it’s just a friendly game of tag just read the triathlon mag!
To me she sounds like she almost has to convince herself, not only the viewer, that she is doing it out of passion. NO obsession is ever healthy, no matter what spehre of life is concerned. She very much seems like someone struggling with mental health issues. Everything about her appears "forced"...there are many other athletes that prove having a fun, diverse life AND being successful is actually possible. More ease would certainly suit her well. Lucy could for sure show her how.
Well you don't know her... If you see other interviews with Anne it looks like she really loves sport/triathlon and that's what she wants to do.
Wouldn't be the lifestyle most people pick, but everyone is different and if she is happy with it, why not.
Ps: I think Gustav/Kristian are extreme to the maxx - no one criticizes them for their lifestyle
Dont you think Picasso, McCartney, Merckx, Jobs (Steve), Rostropovich or Dauwalter let alone Musk or Phelps are/were not obsessed people? They have/had ups and downs but they left behind good stuff …

She lived may be the perfekt pro livey fokus on the job, because she knew it will end in some year so use this perfekt. Then its time for holyday and more
Ryf is similar.
Then you got athletes on the other end of the scale - jo skipper, jess learmonth, josh amberger. These athletes def have more fun and are more relaxed but still achieve massive things in the sport.
