thank you all for 1 thousand views! and 2 thousand! wow, uh, this is getting crazy. this video uses Mollweide projection. a new video about map projections: th-cam.com/video/2vlogGYg9qY/w-d-xo.html thanks for almost FOUR THOUSAND views by the way! it's not much but it's very crazy to me
Great video, but Italy didn't split from Africa. It was connected to southern France and then rotated until it got to its current position. Same with the two islands of Sardinia and Corsica. Italy has always been part of Laurasia
It also doesn't help that it's a pain to do anything in this project. Anchored plate IDs are never used - so actually moving something is absurd. I'm recreating CD2 using CD3, and I've attributed to that. Moving an entire supercontinent requires a lot of precision.
(Now, yes, anchored plate IDs _are_ used, but it's just the phyisical continental parent. It's not like I can just move East Antarctica and expect the entire rest of Rodenia to move with it)
ahh, but still waiting for that true ideal flatscreen, there's no cover! like at all! even if there were no labels i'd still be fine with it as long as the cover was shown (it actually makes more sense labelless when projected because of polar distortion)

This is cool tho!
So that's New Zeland, a bunch of gunk that was brought up from under the ocean.
Zealandia.
good video but where did u make dis?
I took the continental drift from Algol.
I opened the files in GPlates to visualize the continental drift.
The video was edited with Davinci Resolve.

i wonder if eurasia counts as a supercontinent
afro-eurasia reminds me of one
@@DoppelTakenwhat if Afro-Eurasian Union Vs USA
more like Afro-eurasoceania
@@DoppelTaken Afro-Eurasia isnt a supercontinent since its only used to show the "old world", eurasia and africa are separated by tectonic plates
Ur is a real one, lasted like half of the video
How do the scientists model this? I assume further they go back the higher the uncertainty.
that is true, uncertainty increases. I think they model it based on how plates are already moving
Nice

@Alex-di9re India Was Part Of Gondwana The Entire Time. (NGL I Sometimes Get Mixed Up Straight With Both India And Italy)

Pangea 170 Ma now 170 split laurasia and gondwana
Umm at the end there was no euorpe
yes there is. it has been combined with Asia to make Eurasia, for the sake of simplicity.
