Honestly, this isn't a perfect run, at all, but regardless i'm happy enough with it. I used the tab on ultimate guitar and made minor changes, maybe 3-5% to other fingerings along with other minor things. I can't speak for the accuracy of any of what i played but whoever bothered to tab Incurso is a waifu and i'd suck his
For about 98% of the song i'm playing the left channel guitar, and for 1 or 2 quick bits i dip into the right channel track because i hadn't realized i was looking at the wrong track on guitar pro until i had practiced and built up muscle memory for the little bits, and didn't care to undo it.

amazing cover! this song was one of the hardest for me to comprehend and absorb, and you've gone and played the whole thing. Even 7 years later the whole album still fucking slaps!
That's funny. Deus is actually the first song i liked and understood. I hated everything else but was intrigued by Deus for several months before i eventually listened to Cabinet and everything clicked.
7 years later and the whole band still stands above the other bands in the genre imo!

Should be 16 years now. I also think this might be the hardest spawn song. It'd probably be undisputed number 1 if the original intro hadn't been lost in studio, removing maybe 2 minutes of more spawnisms. (The old intro has since been salvaged and can be found uploaded in demo mix form here on utube)
@@apathy420 You're talking about the intro where it's a bunch of classical clean guitar parts in the beginning I'd imagine. Those parts would make this song even more challenging for sure. I've played for about 12 years now and still have trouble with their material at times. Lol

That was great! How long did it take you to learn this?
This is my 2nd attempt. The first was 6-7 years ago. I was stuck practicing the first riff for months and then gave up like a weenie. I still think my speed picking isn't very good.
This attempt i learned the song in about 2 weeks and then practiced it for 5 months. The solo was 1 more month. The first 2 riffs are a great benchmark. If you can get past them you can handle the rest.

@@apathy420 hey friend, a quick update. I got to survive Scorched awhile ago, but just barely, and I had to edit very harshly the video because I can't survive it in only one take. I know it's cheating, but I'm kinda happy about the results, I mean, I thought I wouldn't even survive the thing.
Overall it's kinda sloppy, I still have a loooong way to go if I want to only think about playing that kind of stuff xD. Gotta get back for my Death stuff that is way more fitting with me.

@@Breno1997 Good job. As far as cheating, i wouldn't say so since you're not hiding anything. As long as edits are obvious and we aren't pretending to be perfect i wouldn't sweat it. You can go for a one take some other time.
As far as lowering the difficulty to Death, that's fine. Just remember not to be intimidated by tech and come back to it every so often. In investment terms, as long as you have good practice habits you should find that you'll be setting higher lows over time.
Slow is smooth and smooth is fast. Combine that with pure muscle memory from repetitive slow > smooth > fast metronome practice and frankly there's nothing about tech to be afraid of other than the time and lack of return investment in technical guitar playing.

@@apathy420 and thank you for the feedback! Much appreciated, honestly. I'll keep that in mind and get back to Tech anytime I can. Lots going on in my life, not that much time to practice, but I set realistic goals for myself and try to track them.

I went through like half of Cabinet somewhat recently so i'm taking a Spossession break before i move onto the Noctambulant phase, but yeah Render is on the list.

Yeah,completely outrageous 😮 👏I went and got the gp5. You think The Evangelist was written on a seven string?
There was a written interview years back with Dennis where he mentioned that Incurso was primarily if not entirely written on Bryssling's 6 string Ibby fancy prestige thing, as he wrote it himself when the band was broken up and he never owned a 7. However, once finally in studio they actually borrowed Karlsson's 7 string Ibby to record as it played and / or sounded better for recording.
Bryssling uses gp as well, sending files to Erlend for thoughts. There's a very recent interview to mark an Incurso anniversary where Bryssling mentioned when he was in studio, he had only fully learned all guitar parts for 2 or 3 songs, meaning for the rest he was playing off his own tabs on the spot as part of studio crunch time. Man is an off-season genius. Wish he could go full time.
@@apathy420 My favorite composer, if there is another I would say Jason Becker and Bach and Paganini ,specifically Nicolo's La Campanella. I feel that Bryssling is a modern Baroque composer .I don't actually know his influences. His ideas are amazing, I always think how? How in the world does he come up with it?
@@scot483 He likes Shostakovich iirc. Morbid Angel blew his mind. Swarm of the formless is basically Spawns version of MA Rapture, and a concert experience at MA is likely why Spawn liked to open with Swarm all the time. Hes also mentioned many sections are built around just 2 chords that then spiral out of control. Also, he categorizes his ideas as colors. "These colors work together, these shouldnt go together". Dennis during arrangements would combine colors that Bryssling normally wouldn't, making Noctambulant wild. I don't think Bryssling was implying he had actual synesthesia, i think its just a mental visualization for him. Very interesting stuff. Erlend has also mentioned that Incurso's compositions apparently follow a standard classical progressions, which i had notated somewhere... as im no classical buff.

A true story,I put on Apparition 👻 my wife was in the bed,she's has an illness that leaves her mostly in bed, she got up,started dancing to Apparition, swinging her head, like headbanging! It looked super cool,it was beautiful actually, she was barely dressed,I was watching in awe .I wish I would have recorded that.
