Refreshing to see. Hear so many guys in kiting say they never crash, are bored and switch to winging, but they never tried anything more than cruising for fear of looking uncool crashing
Best kitesurfing YT channel as of today in my opinion. Thanks for this video, showing us to embrace the failure, as always in a super likable way. Keep up the great work Steven.
@2:33: DO A KICKFLIP! This was fantastic. It's nice to see that in between all the perfect executions there's many attempts that don't always work out and that it's ok to fall.
After spending 70% of the time in the water yesterday, trying to learn riding switch and tacking, a really appreciated seeing this video. We're all beginners at something.
I can imagine that this video made you feel better. We've all been beginners and when we try something new it often involves many crashes! You'll be surprised about the amount of crashes I go through before I land a new trick.
@@stevenakkersdijk Your kite foiling videos are also really helpful. Tacking on a foil feels so weird, I haven't quite figured out the timing / kite control.
That's for sure! There is a big difference between crashing with control and crashing out of control. Most of the crashes you see here are with control (I know what the kite is doing and what position I'll be in when I hit the water)
I used to not give this guy a chance, but after listening I really respect his pov and have started to incorporate his methods. I was watching get high with mike but he is always way to happy to enjoy his content
Formula for learning new trick: 1. Watch SA Masterclass Video 2. Crash repeatedly 3. Return to 1 multiple times. 4. Finally master the trick. 5. Return to SA Masterclass for next trick tutorial
That would be nice. I have to say that crashes usually get less bad as you understand body and kite position more and more. Which helps a lot with "controlled" crashes.
@@stevenakkersdijk oh yeah! How to break through our limits just enough to progress but stay safe at the same time? It relates for me to the "flow state" idea by Csikszentmihalyi, Hungarian philosopher.
Lekker veelzijdig zeg!
I ride the 139x 42,5 with 88kg and 196cm. Depending on the conditions you're riding the 141 is awesome though. Better in the days where the wind is less than 20 knots. Thanks for the support and have fun on the water
@@stevenakkersdijk 🙃 I guess I'll figure it out on my own ))) today was one of those days when nothing was going smoothly or working out even though all the ingredients were seemingly there. As a result I too crashed a lot 😆

Oh yes, I can totally imagine that. It makes such a difference if you're willing to crash and keep on trying new things.

Haha your best video so far, i really enjoyed it 😝😝
Crashes are just awesome to watch right 😂
@2:33: DO A KICKFLIP!
This was fantastic. It's nice to see that in between all the perfect executions there's many attempts that don't always work out and that it's ok to fall.
Oh yes, it's very rare to get it right the first try!
Love the focus on rotational 'small' air tricks! So refreshing to see after all the standard big air whoopiedoopies.
Glad you also like it! the small rotations are usually very technical but without the high risk factor from big air
Super Steezy moves!

Crashes are definitely for the cool kids guys…..mowing the lawn never got NO ONE any honeys! 😆
🤣🤣🤣 oh yeah!
Yeah! it's never embarrassing to fall! Wish so much that can attend your master class live!
Come to one of my camps or Capetown, I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
@@stevenakkersdijk Couldn't make to Cape town this year. But I'm waiting for your new schedule coming out!
Very true! Only crashes take you further! And some crashes also lead to new ideas! Keep trying and see for yourself guys! Shared!
So true! I can imagine that you try to find your inspiration for new tricks everywhere! What number are you at now?
@@stevenakkersdijk yes, also from other guys who try new stuff like you 👍🏻 currently at 10020 😎

Awesome riding brother.. living the dream !!! Tunes were kicking too
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the view
Man, your crashes are way more stylish than many others' tricks done properly
😂 That's because I practice my crashes a lot 😉
Dude that moves you pull are mental!
Thanks Rudi!
Love this video! Now I can justify all my crashes that I am made fun of!
If they're making fun of your crashes they're probably not trying anything new themselves 😉

Eindelijk een eerlijke visie op het kitesurfen voor je echt progressie creërt 🤙🏽bedankt Steven🪂
Dat is zeker zo, crashen en nieuwe tricks gaan altijd hand in hand
haha Love it... Thanks for charing, its a lesson for us that are trying to improve, that the best of us also gets fcked...
Exactly 😂

So confidence inducing to see this. If you don't go past your limits how do you know where they are?

Nice to see your human! Great clips.

This video is lacking typical step-by-step explanation on how to achieve and master the shown material! 😉

That's a good start! Means you have enough tricks to try out 😉
Did anyone notice that the base line of this song was ripped off of "Another one bites the dust" ?
