If you got arrested for what you said, you are presumed innocent till proven guilty but the "proof" here would be if your words, at face value is universally understood as a death threat. If so, then the suspect, whoever they are, should be penalized at a minimum with probation and a restraining order. At the maximum, if it is also proven that the suspect was *very* capable of committing to their threat, then the suspect should be jailed and have their individual right to own weapons suspended for some time.

In the rest of the Western world, attorneys would be severely censured for attempting to litigate a case in public. It simply wouldn’t be tolerated. I would be eviscerated by a judge if I tried any of what goes on routinely in the US. A contempt ruling would be the least of it. At the level of practice in the States, I am sure I would be struck off. But it would never occur because in other jurisdictions attorneys with very few exceptions recognise that they are, above all, officers of the court.

If you got arrested for what you said, you are presumed innocent till proven guilty but the "proof" here would be if your words, at face value is universally understood as a death threat. If so, then the suspect, whoever they are, should be penalized at a minimum with probation and a restraining order. At the maximum, if it is also proven that the suspect was *very* capable of committing to their threat, then the suspect should be jailed and have their individual right to own weapons suspended for some time.

Remember when in the first impeachment, many Republican senators said that it should be for the people to decide if he gets to continue as President. And the voters spoke up against Trump. In the rest of the Western world, attorneys would be severely censured for attempting to litigate a case in public. It simply wouldn’t be tolerated. I would be eviscerated by a judge if I tried any of what goes on routinely in the US. A contempt ruling would be the least of it. At the level of practice in the States, I am sure I would be struck off. But it would never occur because in other jurisdictions attorneys with very few exceptions recognise that they are, above all, officers of the court.

If I could like this 1000x, I would. Thank you for voicing what many of us dread but have come to grips with. You can see why McCain chose Wallace for his campaign, and I'm glad to see a sane conservative voice representing the Republican Party. I am so tired of courts and judges giving the traitor repeated times to violate orders without consequences. He should have been put in a jail cell the first time he did this and kept there, incommunicado, until his court dates and then only allowed to speak in court. This is a ridiculous game and it's eroding trust in judges and our judicial system. If he wasn't given preferential treatment it wouldn't have gotten to the point we all knew it would come to: violence and threats of violence.
