Im 31 and remember this 1st time round, still just as good. As far as im concerned Jungle/Drum & Bass stopped being made after 96. Nothing caompares to the old skool
i was born too late to enjoy alll of thiss scene, but damn im gonna do my beest to apreciate what i can find to listen too!! nuffin new reli givs the joy of a pure track like this stuff!
This brings back memories of when I was chillin' in Chicago with a couple of my boys. Every page of beats was different. I wish the evolution was still as fresh today. Now everyone wants to copy each other. Big ups to original junglists!
I think if there was a revival, some of the old DJ's may come back out of hiding? Who knows? One things for sure, nothing sounds or feels like old school Junglist music.
There is if you know where to look😉....kidlib ( or anyone on the greenbay wax label )comes to mind when I think of producers still keeping that true jungle sound alive!
im 26 iv bin into jungle for as long as i can remember i evolved with drum n bass into the modern sound witch is banging but nothing beats kicking back with a spliff and some old skool jungle nuff respect to all the true junglist soljers who keeped up the fight who would of thort dnb would have play on radio one sweeet
The sax is from a track called Darkest Light by Lafayette Afro Rock Band. You might have heard it on Public Enemy's Show em What You Got, or on Dance Conspiracy Dub War.
Wow cant believe i found this , this is just damn , i heard it on a show on bassdrive , where they have the " vault " they play old skool songs and this tune was on it , Massive man Sick !
so true. compare the albums that were coming out back then with them nowadays... although we have a creative electro scene nowadays (dubstep, minimal ruling todays clubs...)
This was on a Shadow Child Annie Mac mini mix podcast which has been taken down :( I love that intro. As soon as uou hear that, you know you are in for a treat. \o/
keep diggin ! there is lots of fresh jungle out there , still being made... for example , macc , equinox , paradox , nebula , infest , bay b ricky force etc
Awesome tune. wish I knew the dj. Being from the states my exposure to jungle is very limited. Any exposure to sites or dj's and artists would be greatly appreciated. ty
@IndieGeekProductions i know what you meen bro i live in guadalajara mexico and here no boddy knows this type of good music i guess if i keep on playing it loud and clear they'll like it!!
@ObsidianDubPlates 90 tunes were deeper. This sound was breaking through and growing and so experimental. Today they are growing from the 90's experiences. Tunes are better produced and more atmospherically pleasing, but the 90 sound was raw and raggo.
i hate being a fourteen year old in wisconsin. nobody ive met here has ever heard of this type of music. dnb jungle jump up dubstep house nothing. they all suck with their rap and crappy mainstream. so here i am. i wanna hang out with you guys. with people who have a good taste in music. lets all have a party together
it doesn't matter who made it, it matters is that it is good music for everyone, i think not artist should get credit for their music not the creator of the music genre...;)
Im 31 and remember this 1st time round, still just as good. As far as im concerned Jungle/Drum & Bass stopped being made after 96. Nothing caompares to the old skool
Still gives me goosebumps !! Jungle is Massive !!!!!!!
Junglist massive NOT jungle is massive lol
The power of MIDI in 1994 pushed to the max. Well done to all involved back then creating this explosive sound.

thankfully i grew up listening to tunes like this.old skool 4 life
i was born too late to enjoy alll of thiss scene, but damn im gonna do my beest to apreciate what i can find to listen too!! nuffin new reli givs the joy of a pure track like this stuff!
shiiiit, this is what the 'favorite' button was made for!!
Dam straight ❤
This brings back memories of when I was chillin' in Chicago with a couple of my boys. Every page of beats was different. I wish the evolution was still as fresh today. Now everyone wants to copy each other. Big ups to original junglists!
If only there was a proper jungle revival!
Todays yoot aint got it it in 'em
Lee Ames No way it would sound the same 😔 Really sad but that's life. At least we have our originals 😊
I think if there was a revival, some of the old DJ's may come back out of hiding? Who knows? One things for sure, nothing sounds or feels like old school Junglist music.
Lee Ames You know what? I think you're right. That would be amazing if it happened, especially if some of the old music was re-released

Ooooh❤
how the hell did they achieve that effect at 1:39?
Could be a time stretched drum sound, maybe a snare, could be an Amen snare.
Then add a Delay/Echo with a really short "time" parameter
@@Akaimayn increasing the grain size as well to get that fuzz over the top of the vox.
The vocals on this is from cutty ranks
JUNGLE JUNGLE!!!
I love the older vibes.
Newer artists just don't seem to cut it.
Especially jump up dnb... what's up with that? Jungle's where it's at.

it doesn't matter who made it, it matters is that it is good music for everyone, i think not artist should get credit for their music not the creator of the music genre...;)
