@@Karsten96 If you ski exclusively on one mountain then yes, it could be a little small, but from Zell am See there's a descent you can take down the other side of Schmittenhöhe. A few minutes on a bus later and you're in the Saalbach Ski Circus. That area isn't small. An ordinary skier can hardly reach the end of that system before it's time to turn back for the day.
Can you ride from St Anton to Lech now??? I had to take a bus when I went... But that was quite a few years ago. If you meant that they're all on one pass.... Well, Hintertux, Vorlanersbach, Eggalm, Mayrhofen, Zillertal Arena, Kaltenbach, Fugen are all on one pass 😂😂, the train might still be included in that price and there are free busses. In St Anton a driver made me pay on the free bus even though I had a ski pass and my snowboarding gear. I'm not going back there when I can go to the Zillertal Valley for cheaper. 🤔😁 At Anton is overrated, unless you want to just get drunk 🤣. Lech was much nicer and less crowded.
Depends what you want from a resort. For partying I would say Saalbach, Ischgl, St. Anton, Kitzbühel, and Sölden. For challenging terrain St. Anton, Kitzbühel, and Lech. For family friendly, low key skiing on variable terrain Obergurgl, Wildschönau, and Alpbach. Just my opinion, which of course doesn't make it fact!
After heavy snow fall, every ski resort in Alps looks amazing. The "best" after that is subjective. This list nevertheless has some top resorts which are worth visiting if you can.
A top area is the Gasteinertal south of Salzburg. Popular with Austrians in the east since, like Schladming, it’s cheaper and more accessible than many of the other more famous resorts, Because of its higher altitude than for example Kitzbühel, and it’s particular location, it often has reliable snow cover when the others in the famous regions of the west are devoid of snow.
Austria has so many beautiful ski resorts! I love them so much! My most beautiful ski resorts are Nassfeld, Zauchensee, Obertauern, Flachau, Wagrain, Schladming, Kitzbuhel, Zillertal (Mayerhofen), Hintertux, Stubai Gletscher, Solden, Ischgl, St. Anton am Arlberg and St. Gallenkirch. Are on this movie all of these ski resorts? ❤🇦🇹
@@chrisi__ flachau-wagrain are now together and also Tillerta--Mayerhofen. But Ischgl should be banned with Switzerland and Nassfeld with Pontebba in Italy maybe 🙄😁👌
the ranking is odd, because there´s quite some areas in austria that are a lot better and more beautiful than others on this list. but im d´accord with SAALBACH #1. actually, the resort combines 4 skiing areas and is called SAALBACH-HINTERGLEMM-LEOGANG-FIEBERBRUNN.
Was there a couple of years ago and it was just shite. Very nice skiing til 13h and after that, too high temperatures (top at 2300, which is actually not very high nowadays) which made the snow too mellow or even watery and too crowdy on the slopes. Very nice après-ski and good prices for great food though.
took a trip to hintertux last week whilst I was in Mayrhofen, that shit was unreal!!! I also took a trip to Gerlos and I gotta say, that has to be on this list somewhere.
all of these resorts are big name the best ski in austria end not on list but in the small ski areas that most people will never hear off that why they are the best !
Like Bregenzewald? Or something like that? I wanted to try there, to escape from all of the crowds. But I couldn't figure out a way to easily get there.
Snowboard habe schon heute gewachst)
I think people are only saying St Anton because they enjoyed being drunk 😏. The slopes weren't all that. Lech was way way better. Maybe the off-piste is good, but our instructor said the group wasn't strong enough to to taken up that cable car / gondola where you can only ride down with an instructor.
Where would you recommend for a nice view and a large area please? Ive already been to Hintertux/Zillerzal valley, St Anton/Lech/Zurs, Zell am See/Kitsteinhorn. 🤔 I really wanted to try Solden. In another video it said Obergurgl had 60% Brits on the slope 😑 so I will probably avoid that. Otherwise it will feel like Mayrhofen (and Morzine in France). What is Bregenerzewald like? I might not have got the spelling right.
Why though, some of the runs are dangerous. I went with work and a colleague bussed her ass and had to be helicoptered off. Then I went back a couple of months later and joined a lesson. A guy got clipped by a skier, on a packed run where everyone has to go fast or get run over. He fell and bussed his ass too a helicopter had to be called again! Too many people on certain slopes. 🧐
I think Hinterstoder and Obertauern should be changed. Ive skied in both and Obertauern is much better. And I also think that the Ranking isnt that good because amazing Skiresorts like Obertauern, Ischgl and Sölden are ways to low
