Canes play very beautiful, quick and effective hockey! Even the more experienced players seem to enjoy the game like they were in their twenties again. Kotkaniemi is awesome, what a steal he turned out to be.
I really hate this idea that kotkaniemi is already a bust. Guy scored two high skill goals in the same period of a second round playoff game. He’s in the playoffs and contributing. What do you expect? Him to be crosby?
Jesperi Kotkaniemi. As a Habs Fan, it's really nice to see him succeed with the Canes. Him and Fast were physical. Wish Carolina the best in these playoffs.

Schmid wasn't to blame in my opinion. He had horrible Peewee hockey-level defensemen, one of the reasons he ended up having to poke check that puck way out of net.

Islanders played the canes way better. Islanders in the entire series let up only 14 goals, yet scord 15 and lost by two games.... devils already have 11 goals against them in just the first two games thats terrible.

I can see the Devils struggling to make it past this series. I think what really helped them wasn't just their resoluteness against the Rangers, but the Rangers caved in to the mountain of pressure and expectation on their shoulders, because they're the Rangers. I just think Carolina however, don't have as much attention and popularity as New York do and are happy to go in like that silent assassin. Slow, but methodical and deadly. And under the radar.
The pressure is definitely getting to the devils. Hopefully the next 2 at home with fans can revitalize this team. They're not playing even close to their potential so I'm hoping their top line steps up to lead the team.

The Canes couldn't have won in 2006 without Rod, and I don't think the Canes can win one today without Staal Bunyan. You need someone who is both physical and can command his presence around everyone. Marty just brings energy and confidence every game. He may not be the best player on the ice, but he will work harder than just about everyone else. He is scrappy and physical. It is no coincidence that our 3rd Line has our Captain and an Alternate on it.
