Good evening very interesting video and very enjoyable I fell off my Z1R in the snow these days i don't like driving in snow and ice so stay safe if you ever get to North Devon pop in for a coffee all the very best to you a family
Thanks Craig… Glad you enjoyed the vid… I wouldn’t normally ride in snow and ice either.. That day was basically dry and sunny but with a few nasty surprises here and there.. Z1R Nice bike! Thanks for watching and your kind comments..Take care 👍
Cheers for that nice laid back ride on a harley, gota love the harleys and the wiltshire countryside, all the to you and your mum hope she soon gets better.
Thank you for sharing your video! Sorry to hear about your mom, Dickie. Sending well wishes to your mom. Nice Harley! I almost bought a Harley Super Glide when I was younger. I rode a 1967 BSA 500 Royal Star for about 3 years. Had a lot of fun with it. Cheers!
Thank you Dan.. Very kind of you..I have been a bit busy with stuff just lately to say the least..That would of been a shovel then.. One of Willi G’s finest 🙂…Good shout with the BSA .. Lovely old bikes ..👍
That motor sounds lovely on that bike Dickie. In all the times I have been up the white horse hill |I have never gone back down the same way as going up, I shall have to give it a try next time:) Hopefully the Dragon will be a GO the only thing that'll stop me is the risk of ice on the roads. Two wheels and ice aren't a good mix as you know! I've never had a shovel head or a pan head but I do own a Bald head :)) Shame about the bad drivers on the roads these days, I have encountered two bad drivers in the last week and for no reason other than they are impatient. Best wishes to Mother for a quick recovery.
Thanks Sandy.. Yep I decided to ride back down the hill the opposite way to norm..Better views for the cam plus I didn’t want to get the bike totally plastered..Keep my fingers crossed for the dragon rally..We’ll have a great time hopefully..Standard of driving isn’t that good nowadays.. Catch up real soon 👍
Hi Bry.. Think the Harley is the best sounding motor at idle.. They’ve done studies ( seriously) and reckon the firing configuration of the motor emulates the sound of a heart beat.. So subconsciously people don’t dislike the sound as it reminds them of their mothers heart beat … Maybe 😄.. Listen to a vintage Harley ticking over and see what you reckon… Love your books by the way ..Take care 🌞
Another beautiful ride Dickie. Those old Harley's are quite the treasure for certain. You did real a good thing in taking that old girl out for a spin. Take care, thanks for the video, and I will see you on the next one.
Nice ride around, it looked a bit nippy and a bit slippery. That was some very sage riding advice you give at the end, if only the muppets in cars had the same sort of sense and ability. I hope your mother is doing well, best wishes to her. Keep it shiny side up. Cheers from Australia
Hi Wayne.. It didn’t feel that cold.. Roads were relatively dry but would catch you out now and again…Best place I’ve ridden that has car drivers that are clued up with regards to bikes is France 🇫🇷.. That’s because they all ride mopeds around at 14 ish ( or used to) before they get their main driving licence..So they know.. Thanks for your well wishes regarding my old mum ..Take care mate 👍
A nice ride that, Dickie. Missing my bike right now: it’s the Two Wheels that gets me out on a whim, a half-baked idea, or no idea at all… but just OUT. Very tempted to consider a Himi, especially as the new one might well see lots of “old ones”, fully kitted, coming onto the market - so, as mentioned previously, your views on the Himi, what needs doing, what needs leaving alone, would be of great interest to me. Best wishes to Ma. Hospitals are no fun, but gawd bless those who work there, looking after us when we’re unable. The views from beneath ‘Uffington Castle’ are immense, aren’t they?
Hi Barry.. Uffington Hill was beautiful that day.. The light pattern and shadows worked great on the film I reckon.. I’ll definitely do the Himi vid for you… Got a couple of interesting bikes to film and review this week as well…Can get a bit busy this YouTubing lark 😄.. Take care and see you on the next one 👍
I'll let you do the riding this time of year Dickie. I can cope with the gangs of Wooly Jumpers wandering around in the road but Icey roads and low sun are not for me. If I throw it up the road I won't bounce like I used to. I hope your Mum is ok, I'm sure she's in good hands. 👍
Hahaha, Glad the plural of Sheep Is Sheep's or Sheepsies for someone other than just me. 😂 Hope your Mum's well enough for you to make the Dragon with Sandy- see you there! X ( Thank you for the lovely words about the channel too) xx
😄 Hi Charlie.. My particular fave is a Gaggle of Goatses..Love Goatses and definitely wouldn’t eat one..Thanks for the well wishes regarding mum.. And yep, fingers crossed for the Dragon Rally 🏴 👍x
Take it easy out there there are some quality drivers out there ( if you can call them that) Hope your mom is okay, keep up the good work cheers Dickie ❄️❄️👍🏍
Good Morning Dickie , i hope your mum is feeling better , your Harley sound's beautiful mate , what's it like for traveling distance's , as always take care & ride safe
Hi Steve..Dynas are pretty versatile bikes.. You can buy luggage systems for them and the after market products for them is endless..Comfort wise at moderate speeds not a problem…My bike is basically standard apart for some suspension mods.. Mum broke her hip but she’s of that generation that are tough.. She’ll be 92 in a couple of months….Take care 👍
Always plug it in to a optimiser to keep the battery in a relatively good state… When I got the thing a few years ago now the new battery which the previous owner had fitted fell apart inside whilst riding ..Total failure..Because in my mind it was a relatively new Harley I wasn’t carrying any tools
Great video I also ride a harley a roadking looked like you had one under the other cover I'm only in Hampshire andover have you got a postcode for the white horse where you rode never been up there I keep going to choppers to see if you or sandy there not bumped into you yet
Hi Anthony…Don’t really frequent Choppers Cafe…Sn7 7RH is the post code for Uffington village…a mile or so from the Hill…. Never know, may bump into each other at some point in the future… I’m out and about on the bike all the time.. Roadies are my favourite Harley..So versatile plus they handle.. Half decent ground clearance too.. Mines a 98 Evo motor classic.. Owned it for over 20 odd years now… Been everywhere on it.. Love it… It’s due a service and a vlog I reckon 🙂… Take care 👍
I know 😄 Just needed to get out on it.. They sooth the soul do Harley’s.. And give you a heart attack when stuff falls off and you have to push em 🛠️😆..
Good ta see ye getting out there.. I'd hoped for Boxing Day and then New Years Day.. guess what.. still not been out, now South Staffs the roads are wet with Salt...! Nice the shout for Charlie and all the Emergency Crews, you know only too well of the need for them, hope Mom is on the way to recovery and Home soon. Hospitals and Parking these days.. not to mention the roads nor traffic.. more over level of Driving these days, its like having passed the test.. it's now a right to rule the road.. however good the Instructor, you should never stop applying the Highway Code and it's being changed regularly or is it the enforced Laws. Mirrors few ever use them, its like only the windscreen view and vehicle in front, no forward vision pass that point nor behind.. Our A34 an Ambulances, blues/twos and never until last moment any inkling as too whats behind them or giving way. Was that the same red van suddenly change lane at the roundabout...! Stay safe and have a Blessed New Year. Cheers Davey
Hi and thanks for your well wishes regarding my old mum.. Yep , been a bit of a stinker weather wise.. That day was the first break we really had..Bit misleading as the roads were comparatively dry but held a few nasty surprises thrown in..Probably more suited to the Himi..Had it in my head to vlog the Harley though…Regarding the standard of driving nowadays I think it sucks… Noticeably declined I reckon..Yet the test procedures are more involved..How does that work?? My theory is modern vehicles totally alienate you from the dangers of the driving environment..Was always the case to some degree with cars but the modern stuff is another level.. When electronics basically take the place of perception and common sense .. people are cocooned in a false sense of safety….Yep , you clocked it.. That was the same red van….Thanks for watching my stuff and you take care…Best regards 👍
Yep you've summed it up with the modern technology all that's really needed is just sit in the car. I only survey by being vigilant to surrounding with any mode of travel. Wish Mom well. Cheers. @@DickieMintCycles
Hi Dickie, I had a Street Bob for 5 years, put forwards on it and replaced the corroded spokes with stainless and put progressive shocks on the back. Personally, I would prefer to hear the bike instead of the music, regards, Paul.
😄 Duly noted …Had forwards and a touring seat on it but I took em off 🤔.. It’s also fitted with progressives front and rear.. I like the basic no frills look of it..I can put up with the cramp once in a while I guess 🙂…👍
Best wishes to your mum, 6 of us went over to YELL from Shetlands and a sheep jumped out in front of my mates bike. She hit the sheep it went over the top of her stone dead. We reported it but they said don't worry about it. Hay ho. My mate was ok just a little shaken.
The time it took you to push that bike 3 miles dickey it would have been a hell of a lot longer waiting for the crappy AA to come and get you home by the time the questions and advice they give you to answer terrible service
It was Christmas Day .. No chance…I didn’t want to miss Christmas dinner so a quick risk assessment told me it was worth potentially killing myself for me dinner 😄👍
Thanks for taking me out Dickie. I needed the fresh air
Your welcome Ian … 👍

That ride out had me clinging on, the roads looked very slick. I hope your mum is ok and send you and her best wishes.
Thanks Nigel.. I was clinging on as well 😄.. Thanks for your well wishes 👍
Nice, such a classic sound. I also love the sound of a Norton.

Great sound on the V Twin..... A bit of low sun.. Black ice and freezing conditions lead to a fun ride.... Keep the shiny side up.
Absolutely 😄👍
