I was really in shock doing this side quest, you wouldnt imagine a generic old man to be a genius society member. I also really enjoyed going around with screwllum. It also showed an unsuspecting dark side of the IPC, seems like theyre much more corrupt/ evil than we thought
I knew the IPC was corporate scummy, but this story shows how more extreme lengths they would go for profit and tech advantage. Topaz is a saint compared to the rest of the IPC.

While she did have good will when trying saving belobog but i remind you what Himeko said the chance is low and if its failed all of belbelog people uperworld or underworld will under the contract to work with IPC and just as you state. iPC its not so bright company. That’s why I was 10c more invested in this quest compared to Black Swan/Sparkle quest. Don’t get me wrong, it’s funny as hell and I love both characters, but it doesn’t give us any world building or lore bombs,

Not enough people are talking about Screwllum here because we see a lot more of an interesting side of him
He was willing to risk his and his planets peace with Penacony for the sake of an old friend and fulfilling a duty he wasn’t able to complete long long long ago. This quest has arguably made me respect Screwllum a lot more
Bruhh this quest is even better than most companion quests and main quests, RIP Dr. Chadwick AKA Oppenheimer of Hoyo and this was the very first time that we get to see Herta somewhat emotional
It is a detail so simple, but I really liked the added sound at 30:00 when they kill you for not complying.
Both the shot and the body falling on the ground made that scene really memorable for me.
I was not expecting much from this mission, but I really liked it
You know what I kind of felt bad when kafka killed IPC goons before in her trailer like it didn't mean anything. Now I am not so mad at her.

ikr, i also felt the same, this quest was hidden in plane sight and contain so much lore about Genius society number 76 and about concept of death in a dreamscape, makes me think about firefly for some reason

This all started because I wanted to find a clue on how to access the area behind that gate...and ended up with such an incredible story quest. I'm impressed...
We got to see a different side of Screwllum and Herta. This truly was something else
These couple of Adventure Missions in Penacony pretty much further emphasized why Stelle took a liking to Firefly as she was to Stelle a gem among a land of people who are either broken or are piles of dirt and aside from the Dreamscape, there is a dark side within The Family as one would expect.
During this whole in-between sequence it's obvious Stelle isn't enjoying her time in Penacony anymore for more reasons than one. Losing the heart to enjoy herself and being in grief specifically. At least she isn't enjoying her time in Penacony like she was before.
In this case, The Family confined for decades one of the greatest members of the Genius Society called Dr. Calderon Chadwick who is a member of the Genius Society for being the architect of a weapon called the Imaginary Implosion Pulse that destroyed millions. This old Genius created a cosmic nuke controlling the power of matter and Chadwick was "imprisoned" by The Family and robbed him of his memories for the sake of Harmony since his genius brought about mass destruction. That robbing him of his memory part is not true since we are talking old age. The old man normally should have passed away millenia or so ago being a normal human but The Family using their knowledge of Memoria kept his soul alive allowing him to remain alive in Penacony. So the reason Chadwick wound up in said predicament started when he was blinded by his thirst for achievement and genius leading him to create said nuke with the resources provided by the IPC which would prove to be helpful against forces of Destruction. However, a talk with Screwllum made young Chadwick realize the gravity of what he had created but it was too late for him to shutdown the weapon of mass destruction before it was launched and demonstrated leading to the demise of over 30 planets and zillions of lives. After everything he took his work with him while being on the run from the IPC since the knowledge of the nuke must be kept among them so it never gets misused leading to Chadwick who was at middle stage of his life sought out Screwllum to get his hands on a memory blocker and thus his loss of memory and turned himself in. Realizing he wiped his memory the IPC placed Chadwick on house arrest to later extract the Memoria from him after he dies and they later placed the Memoria on Penacony to keep it on ice and thus why the Bloodhounds are keeping him on surveillance. With Stelle's help, Screwllum was able to put the old doctor to rest and bringing his Memoria out of Penacony. Both him, Herta, and Stelle sends off the doctor so he can finally be at peace but not before Chadwick imparts his legacy to Herta while also giving her a warning that eventually the IPC would be able to recreate the nukes without his knowledge. He leaves for good entrusting his legacy to Herta to do the right thing.
This Adventure Mission gave a tale of a Genius Society member who Screwllum had befriended and was an inspiration for Herta becoming a Genius member herself. To be entrusted with the hope of creating a nuclear deterrence against an inevitable future where the IPC recreates the IIP Bomb. IPC maybe aligned with Nous but there are times where I think even Nanook smiles upon them more than the ones who actually worship him.
Also, old Chadwick was kept alive for two millenia thanks to his Memoria being put on ice. Yet the IPC never came back for the old man as if they have forgotten the whole matter thanks to the passing of time. A captain of the Bloodhounds that you talk to while in Penacony tells Stelle that you can't truly get hurt or die in Penacony but the physical self IRL would still feel the pain of getting runover so would the same be true for a person who dies in the dreamscape and that they still be alive but them feeling their death would leave serious repercussions on the person IRL.
I can't believe why the IPC doing that such destruction from the two millenia ago destroying each of the planet. I don't know if the IPC have that weapon made by Chadwick. But I hope Herta and Screwllum would manage that to remove Chadwick leftover like formula or something else. No one should ever use that weapon from two millenia ago, it is must be hidden or deleted. It should not existed.

I'd like to correct one thing, Amber Eras aren't equivalent to Millenias. It's still unclear the duration of one amber era but according to the story it's whenever Qlipoth swung their hammer. Based on a few lore bits i think an amber era can last between 76-240 years.

A lot of these side quests have been pretty generic, so I was surprised by the quests in Penacony, they really improved and made them very interesting and I actually felt something of these characters.
I'm really looking forward to the next patch!
All four of these types of quests (Also the sales girl who wanted to be a singer, the actor who was presumed dead, and the benevolent emperor with a dark past) went way harder than they had any right to...
There's even Oppenheimer reference in the Assignments menu when you choose the assignment for Extinguish Core

She's an Emanator of Nous. This should be as simple as plugging in a hard drive to a computer and moving all it's contents to the computer, just that it's on a more insane level than that bc she absorbed it quite instantly. Also, it shouldn't come as a surprise that her puppets are insanely high specs. Not only is she a genius, she can also use Nous power to further improve it, although I doubt she had to use Nous power to create these puppets tho, she's probably capable enough to handle it on her own.

Typical Mihoyo, the side quests are much better than most of the main quests. Chadwick, Cocona, queen Tiz, ... so much better than the main quest in Penacony. Killing 2 characters without any background building does almost no emotion.
This is just 2.0 alot of people seem to forget the story is just beginning. Also, trust me, those two aren't dead yet. If those two don't die a couple more times along with a majority of the cast, and if the main character doesn't end up personally having to kill one of them, it isn't Shaoji's writing.
@@chaostomb First killing characters does not make a story good. Second Shaoji with meme "positive and wholesome story" is just overrated, the 13 FCs arc is the result of many people and it is truly a good story without the need to actually kill anyone. Third, most of people just overreact to the FF's death, they even compare it to kallen or Himeko death, 2 good written characters that we know the background, that we know why they sacrifice themselves. and the other one is a girl that we only meet 1 day. The Penacony story is good, it has a lot of plots to be uncovered. I don't deny any good point of it. Just people don't recognize the deep meaning behind the story and overreact to a lame death.

They're just not dead imo. There's far too much in every aspect of Penacony that constantly hammers on you that you can't trust anything you see in the Dreamscape
@@denogginizer3757 You are THE person overreacting to the deaths. Acting as if it's the main point of the story when it's clearly not. The story moves on from Fireflys death very quickly for a reason. The intended highlight of act 1 was the rooftop scene. You can clearly notice that by the directing and budget put into it.
