    Great video. Captures the moment. I'm a Sox fan but really happy for the Cubs and their older diehard fans! Awesome for the City of Chicago as well. Thanks!

    The only problem is. Half these people 3 years ago were white sox fans. Only the real (wait until next year) cub fans deserve this. The ones who watched the black cat in 84. The ones who watched Moises Alou get robbed by Steve Bartman and Sammy Sosa's chance of redemption dwindle away. I'd say only 1/5 of these fans are real die hard cub fans. The others are just out there to have a reason to party and mingle. So I say to you , the true cub fan. Thank you! Thank you for all the hard work. Thank you for watching when they were 20 games out of first in July. Thank you for listening on an AM Radio channel in early august at the family picnics. THANK YOU CHICAGO CUBS FANS!!

      The black cat was '69. Also, four other people were reaching for the foul ball next to Bartman. But now that our team are World Champs, none of that matters anymore. #FLYTHEW

    At least there wasn't a whole lot of reports on criminal behavior
    like setting fires on flipping over cars and tearing stuff up like the Denver Broncos fans did kind of how it was when my hometown KC Royals team fans were when we did it last year they had respect for their city yet they celebrated responsibility congrats Chi-Town

      Yeah. Those of us who lived locally didnt appreciate the broken glass, trash and gum wads everywhere. I had to cut gum out of my dogs fur on his feet thanks to inconsiderate people. In addition to all the noise till 3 4 in the morning when some of us had to work. Not downplaying the cubs win tho. It was awesome. Just wish people would respect others more.

    2134 EEST
    Among my last received communiques, here in Syria, were a few personal missives. One from an elderly American friend, late of Chicago city. While musing about that berg & its' B-ball team, & their recent victory, he related an anecdote:
    “In my young years, I would describe sports as 'the most important unimportant thing in the world'. Generally, no one starves, no borders are redrawn, no populations are exchanged. But these days I have altered my belief, that is, I think sports have gone over the top...most everywhere! They have ascended to the height of things that really matter. Pinocchio has become a boy!
    To a fan, your team is a nation on game day...one gone to war. That's what my father understood when he tried to dissuade me, as a young boy, from following the Cubs. He believed that their fans will come to accept defeat & failure as the inevitable end of all earthly endeavors, A Cubs fan is fatalistic. The ultimate implication of his words was left unstated: a Cubs fan has a greater likelihood of leading an unfulfilled life.
    'Pick your team carefully, because your team is your destiny,' he would shout on occasion...especially when his mind was elevated by heroic-consumption of adult beverages ...and his team had just lost a contest.
    I have laid awake wondering just what my ole-man, a life long White Sox follower, would say now?”

      I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Yankees fan, but I was never happier over a World Series in my life, and believe me, I've watched on TV and followed on the Internet my fair share. Back then I lived about a quarter mile from a university library, and they'd stay open till 2 AM, which was when I'd leave. That night, I came home early, as I didn't want to miss a potential clinching by the Cubs. One of the wisest decisions of my life!

    Congrats Cubs! This is how the Minnesota Vikings fans will react when we finally get the curse off our back and win the super bowl. They have had over 50 years of disappointment and defeat. Maybe next year will be our year because the super bowl will be in Minneapolis.

      Tia Ayers Hi there, how can I help?

    • @tiaayers8635
      @tiaayers8635 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey,
      Thanks for getting back to me. I was wondering if I could use some clips from this video for a little promo I'm doing for a small t-shirt line. The t-shirts have the dates of big wins in sports history (Cubs: 11/2/2016, etc). So I'm using fan reaction videos from 11/2/2016 to give people the idea to re-live the magic any day they want. Would that be okay with you?
      If you're okay with it, I'd love to get the video sent over on dropbox or google drive.
      Let me know if you have any other questions.
      Thanks in advance!

    8:09 - aerial pyrotechnic salute from a faraway house - you see the flash - you expected fireworks from such a celebration of a victory as huge as this. I was expecting a loud boom after the flashy salute but I did not get it.

    • @JennaLeigh

      Chris Edmundson because baseball is originally an American game, hence it being our "national pastime". now, players from literally all over the world play major league baseball. it is the highest platform for a baseball player. if you're there, you're the best in the world. win the world series? your team is the best in the world.

    • @reclusiveperson9409
      @reclusiveperson9409 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because the best players in the world play here. Plain and simple. Outside of North and South America baseball isn’t big.

    • @ry.the.stunner
      @ry.the.stunner 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because baseball is the top baseball league in the world. That's why so many of the best players from Japan, China, Korea, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Colombia, Canada, etc. come to the MLB to play. And the underperforming guys who are too old or too unskilled to get a starting job on an MLB team end up going to Japan or Korea to play.
      Also, Canadians are not called "Americans". You said "Americans", which refers to people who live in the United States. Canadians are called Canadians, regardless of the fact that they live in North America.
      Do you call people who live in Brazil Americans?
