She's so beautiful , intelligent and talented, It's hard to believe she's like 25 here, so sharp and articulate

Totally believable if she could do Taxi Driver at 13 then obviously she was mature for her age at 26.

She looked so young and seemed so giddy and over the moon with jubilation. I remember this incident that inspired the film she won for as I grew up in New England, not far from YALE where JODIE matriculated. Ironically, I did NOT think she would win this time as SIGOURNEY WEAVER was a rare DOUBLE nominee that year in 1989. It was not her year as she lost BOTH races, just like SCARLETT JOHANSSON did this year in 2020. THE ACCUSED was a movie made for the ME TOO era that was YEARS before it's time. Anyone concerned about gender equality, violence against women, female empowerment in the face of the darkest obstacles you can imagine, should see THE ACCUSED.

9:00 little did Jodie Foster and the reporters knew that the upcoming project for her would be the one that would make her a LIVING LIFETIME MOVIE LEGEND, the movie of a lifetime, the performance of a lifetime, one of the greatest female heroines of cinema and her SECOND OSCAR. Yep, as she said, there’s no good material for anybody and she was the 2nd choice and went to ask director Jonathan Demme to let her be her side choice. Michelle Pfeiffer backed out (‘cause she considered material was so ‘dark’) and Jodie stepped in. Is just following dreams and keep fighting to make them happen! She’s so fearless!

I first saw this movie in 2019, and for some reason I am so obsessed with it. I don't know why. I believe that she did a lot of women and girls justice when she made this movie. A lot of people who may have never been affected by rape were suddenly confronted with it on T.V. The most frustrating thing about this movie is that there is barely anything about it online. I couldn't find any bloopers or behind the screen footage of this film online. I couldn't find any on screen interviews for anyone in this movie except for Kelly, Jodie, and Bernie. I wish that I could have heard from some of the lesser known actors and actresses in this movie.

This movie was inspired by a real life rape of Cheryl Araujo (Tragically she passed away two years before the movie was made in a car accident)... I think that Jodie did a incredible job as an actress as Sarah Tobias.. She deserved to win! A hard movie to watch.. Yes.. but it does have a message and one that people need to see to understand.. Rest in peace Ms. Araujo.. You are remembered!

Wow...a movie i have never seen...before my time...but through the history of American woman...this movie ...well, i think explains a time in that...she was so excited when she first got up there and ended with a serious note. One of our Greats in my generation...even though my first was Hannibal with her...she has the education of psychology of an old person in a young mind here. She opened people minds which can be universal.

Definitely different for her. I've been watching her in films since.she was a.child. We're about the same age, so oddly I feel like we've grown up together. She was pretty here. I also liked her in Panic Room. Foxes is another favorite of mine. I remember it came out when I was in high school. Another film I felt was deep for her as well as Taxi . She's got a lot of strength behind her acting skills. Seeing these clips now, it's still hard to believe that was the little girl from Disney films.

Glenn Close was unlucky again that year.....Her showing in Dangerous Liasons was certainly in the Lead Actress as she dominates that film

It was going to be Glenn's year, she was the favorite to win, Jodie was a dark horse candidate, but the word of mouth about her performance, especially the actual rape scene was pretty gut wrenching.

It’s creepy how the cameraman randomly pans down her body to the point of cutting off her head and then hovers there… ew.
