  • This is one of my RaceScene TV shows from 2006 with guest Carl Bush from Wilwood Disc Brakes and co-host Dalton Zehr. Part #1 covers pedals, proportioning valves, brake bias and general brake system set up tips. Carl discusses proper balance bar setup, the way a proportioning valve actually works, pedal ratios and more.

    One point missed about the balance bar - if it's normally too far to one side, that would suggest that either the master cylinder it's nearest needs to be a smaller bore and/or the one it's furthest from needs a larger bore - depending on pedal load and travel, of course.

    Yep, that's correct. You want the system designed so the normal position is in the center of adjustment so you have adjustment available in either direction.

    akbar - It's a com bearing on a threaded shaft that moves from side to side when the shaft is turned so that it applies more pressure to one side of the master cylinders.

    Hi. is the Willwood Proportional vale good por Races Purposes? I have some issues with one like the one in this picture but EMPI.

    The problem is the valve don't realease, and even caused that the rear train, got stock... breaked.
    Could you please help me to know if this kind of valve are good for racing purposes?
