Hi Hannah, i used to live in an Ibaraki's countryside 20 minute from Mito City in 2011-2015. Now i live in a bustling Melbourne, and seeing your video riding a jitensha makes me want to go back to Ibaraki someday. There are tons of underrated interesting places in Ibaraki :D
So amazing. I love that feeling of something amazing is about to happen when preparing for adventure. Seeing you tying your shoes and the sound of zippers brought that memory back to me. I love travel. I need to do more soon.

I want to go paragliding! I sometimes dream I can fly and that always feels wonderful; I this must be the closest I can get to that experience in real life! Also: Ibaraki looks a lot nicer (and less flat) than I expected!
After Kanagawa, Ibaraki is the prefecture I've spent the most time in. My wife is from there, and have visited her parents many times. Where they live is even more rural than where you were, Hannah. :)
Another great video Hannah, After watching this one I want to do some more traveling, it's been a while since I've been anywhere. I'm not really a city person so some of the countryside is great to see. :)
I personally enjoy how you sprinkle in humor to your videos. Like, in this one your instructor told you to cross your arms and run. And when he said ‘run!’ your legs ran right out from underneath you. You look like you were scooting around on you butt, however your feet and legs were still running. That type of stuff is priceless! Priceless I tell you!!👍🤪
Currently Hannah yeah I get that. You were in a hurry to get airborne. And you had a good instructor I saw him pick you up and throw you into the air. Such fun.🥳😂
@@CurrentlyHannah Looked sort of like you accidentally started to sit down too early. It is surprising how much the body just wants to do that as it feels the harness start to pull up on you a bit. You sort of forget to keep on your feet and go for a butt-slide. Glad it worked out and off you went :)
I would imagine the 2hr course is a 'bunny hill' experience. When I learned to paraglide, I started with a few hours of practice kiting the wing. Then, we learned to launch from a 50ft hill, 4 or 5 times. Next 150 ft twice, before going to 300 ft (about 1-1/2 minute flight).
If I had to guess, I would say what you did was a pretty basic 7-10 minute flight off the mountain. Essentially just a sled-ride to the bottom, with no thermalling to stay up longer? That is the pretty typical kind of tourist flight experience you get in a lot of places. I became a Paraglider Pilot here in the USA last summer, and it is such a blast. One short little flight just isn't enough! :D
oh that bike ride looks great and not too hard on the system so wow I could do that the Para well I would like to have a go at it thanks for another slice of Japan stay safe

@@CineSoar In many cases, it isn't really a fear of heights so much as a fear of falling. I have no problem when up on a smooth flight, but too big of bumps / collapses can trigger that fear of falling, or like standing of a cliff edge looking over.

When do you start competing for your next contract? Seeing the sights around Japan has been pretty nice since other YTers aren't so interested in falling out of the sky like you do ;) Can't wait for your next adventure. Maybe wind surfing at Abashiri?
It looks like a great place, I’d be so happy to just be able yo do those two activities, seems you could get to see sooo much! Is it just me or do Asian people age really, really well? I’ve never been able to guess the ages of people I meet when traveling, they’re always older than I think, sometimes shockingly so! ☺️
He was flying a Paramotor, in bad weather conditions. Goes to show you really do have to be careful about what conditions you fly in. Most respectable tourist Tandem operations like Hannah participated with really keep safety a top priority.

Hahaha I tried my best! It was actually a little rough takeoff and he apologised for it later but I had a great time so I didn’t notice haha

Ibaraki Prefecture, where I live, has been rated as the least attractive prefecture by Japanese brand institutions.

I know a number of pilots who have a fear of heights. They say the experience of the height is very different than what they are normally afraid of.
