Hi Hannah! New subscriber here. As a Japanese American who grew up in the United States and have not been to Japan in over 20 years, these videos inspire me to make my way to the motherland. Keep doing what you do! ありがとう!
Nikko is a town at the entrance to Nikko National Park, most famous for Toshogu, Japan's most lavishly decorated shrine and the mausoleum of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate
You ladies certainly are "breathe of fresh air!" :D Thanks for showing me a "little bit of everything" of Japan! Cheers to more travels around the globe! :)
Hi Hannah!! Sooooo much fun!!! I’m a Canadian/ Aussie, who is also onstage, working as a performer/circus/actor.. etc.. 😝 I was on tour in Japan for a year and a half way back in 2004.. watching your vlogs are bringing back the best memories, and traveling the past 15 years I relate to your experiences!! I love your energy and outlook on life.. continue with the great vlogs!! You’re inspiring me to start creating again.. ✌️❤️🌺❤️✌️
I lived and worked in Nikko for the last two years and I felt more at home in that town than my hometown in Australia. I actually taught just around the corner from the bus stop at Chugushi! So once a week I was able to experience what you did. The temple you visited up there is called Futarasan. I hope you go back because it’s too beautiful all year round not to sightsee. I’ve left Nikko for only 3 weeks now and I already miss it
So nice to see a video from Nikko and Chuzenji-ko. I used to live in Utsunomiya (just moved back to Sweden), about 40 minutes from Nikko and have been there soooo many times. Onsen is the best, loved how they had really crammed all your beds in there. :)
Thank you for bringing us on your wonderful journeys. Your cinematography is on point! I can't wait to go back to Japan and visit Nikko for myself. So glad to have discovered your channel :)
Seriously your video’s is so wonderful! Because of the slow motion and the music and also the fact that it is in Japan, it actually made tears in my eyes!! Thanks! Just do what you do, it’s a wonderful job you do!! ❤️😁
I looooved Nikko. Nikko is such a lovely place! Seeing this video makes me want to go back as I think it is one of the most beautiful places I've seen in Japan. It was so peaceful.
Wow, that really did look amazing. I can only imagine the stunning visuals you would have gotten with the Spark or Air! Though, it gives you an excuse to go back ;)
I went the in summertime (August) and the place was heaving, although I only went to the main big temple complex. Does the train there from Tokyo still leave from the middle of a department store? The signs in the shop was sort of like "2nd Floor - Menswear, Bedroom Furnishings, Railway Station". slightly strange to say the least. I remember it was a long train journey, with a lot of stops, and I had to change trains at about the 14th stop. Somehow I lost count, but it didn't matter, as absolutely everybody got off the (full) train at once, as they were all going to Nikko.
Wow Nikko in the snow without crowds seems magical! Kegon falls is a lot more impressive in the summer just after rainy season though. Did you guys go to Toshogu too or were you just unable to film that?
omg i love these. you're so talented with editing and film making. i was wondering what the song was round the 3:50 mark? i'd to download/buy that for bedtime. so relaxing.
From your youtube videos, I think that you have already understood about "Wabi, Sabi" = わび・さび(侘・寂)of Japan, so that, you could find the place almost people from foreign country has overlooked. It looks attractive from the our viewpoint of Japanese.
Hi Guys Thank You like snow so much ,that good. For us here in New England USA , we just like it for a while in the beginning of season after that it will be a lot of work to shovel it , Always cold from October to May and a lot snowing day but it really beautiful especially on Christmas season When the snow just fall from sky and white, soft and amazing you fell like in a dream moment !!!
I can totally relate how ya'll felt when you guys see snow and touch snow for the 1st time!!😂😂😂 I travelled to Vancouver as well and i was hyping for like 2days cause living in singapore even a thousand years later you wont see any snow😂🤣🤣
What is the title of the piano inserted in the VTR? "Nikko Yumoto Onsen" which is further behind Lake Chuzenji is also a great place, so it is recommended.
Crispy Pizza, that is awesome XD I work at an Interpreter's hotline and once I got this old Vietnamese interpreter, old and sweet guy, that for some Reason thought my last name was Brocollie, so every time he called and I answered he was like Miss Brocollie! Sweetest man ever .
Hi Hannah! My family is planning a trip to Nikko from Tokyo, this late February and maybe first week of March, do you think it's better to ride local trains? We are planning to get a JR Tokyo Wide Pass, and just not sure if it's valid around local trains in Tokyo as well. Anyway, I am glad I saw your video, my dad wants to see snow and I wasn't sure where to take him that's near Tokyo. Thank you!!!
beautiful place and timing season! i enjoy the video! what month and around what date this video was shot? i’m a landscape photographer, hope these places with no one around.
Hi, good video thanks for sharing! What month did you go to Nikko because we will be in Nikko on second week of December. So I just want to know if there will be snow we we get there... also can you please share the name of your hotel. Thanks!
Hi, how do you get around the area? Is there a shuttle bus or you have to hike from your hotel to the shrine and waterfall? I wanted to go there end Nov, but my schedule is stuck in Tokyo. I read the Edo Wonderland is in the area too.
i decided to visit Nikko on the 24/11 in 2016 when Tokyo experienced the first November snow in 53 years, and trains were delayed and it took me half a day to get to Nikko, I was stranded in a small town as the trains stopped going to Nikko due to heavy snow. By the time i arrived the day was getting darker and all the attractions were closing soon and i ended up wasting my Nikko day pass. No a very pleasant experience but i really hope i can go back again and properly appreciate the beauty of this place :D ps. i have also experienced my first ever earthquake on the 22nd and that was my first ever trip to Japan, i don't know if i was lucky or... :S
hi Hannah. I know this video is from a while ago but I'm thinking of coming back to Tokyo next March and exploring Nikko also, can I ask when this was filmed? I'd love to see some snow as I live in Thailand! Love your videos!
So many Westerners when they think of Japan think only of sprawling, crowded cities, without realising how beautiful the countryside is. And because their public transport is so good, most places are easily accessible. Plus you can get by with knowing very little Japanese, as the people are very friendly and helpful.
Noticed your Suica Fare was 1700 yen. Heres a Tip i learnt living in Tokyo getting around on the JR network and going on day trips. I would buy a Tokunai pass for 750yen which is unlimited rides in the metro zone. If I needed to go out of the tokyo metro zone i'd just pay the fare adjustment on the way out. going back in you buy the cheapest ticket to get through the gate say 170 yen, then use your daily tokunai pass to get through the barrier in the free zone. Its a bit sneaky and the locals would never do such a thing but it can save you a bit of cash. Good luck with your travels.
I think because It is winter. so not much tourists there. I had been there 2 times in winter and not much tourists too. But last year I visit in August. So crowd. Heavy traffic jam. Every buses were delay.
I clicked over because of the attractive person on the thumbnail, but i got sucked in by the videography and music edits instead =3. Thank you @CurrentlyHannah for the wonderful video!
hi can i ask the dates of your nikko trip? I'm planning to go there on March 5 next year, do you think it will still be that cold? thanks and awesome video!
Took pretty much the same trip two years or so ago. Amazingly beautiful. Nice to visit again through your video. Thanks!

I’ve ever been this ryokan! to go to see the Nikko’s icefall 👍
I have been watching your vlogs recently, and I've developed a little Australian accent from your videos. Thanks Hannah haha

I was so crowded in April lol and it was heavy fog at the lake too. But I enjoy anyway, want to visit when there're snow too.
Wow, Nikko is gorgeous. Thank you!
The area between Nikko and Kinugawa Onsen is a very beautiful place

Ah! I was there during golden week. It was an awful commute, but well worth it. The ryokan I went to was what I needed after the rush of the big city.
wonderful video. So looking forward to my trip to Nikko now.
