- I’ve collected many dolls throughout my life, but these are the ones I feel like culminated in my American Girl collection.

Hi Blaine, thanks for showing your other Dolls I get it I have great nieces that I share my passion of dolls and I had to buy used dolls for them to play with then I still watch them. lol. I told my sister your grand daughters are not ready for this level of doll play. Hahaha.

@@revanelson8810 yeah I still love the first few series, especially the SH dolls. They ended becoming very hard to find with good paint jobs in the end. There are some I’ll always keep tho lol
I enjoy seeing the other dolls you collect. Especially the customizations! (gorgeous!) Almost all of my AG dolls have new looks and stories accept the Historicals. I first started collecting with Blythe dolls that I cusomized. AG's are my greatest love, though! I've always been partial to AA dolls, also. Especially playing with textured hair! Their beautiful faces just make me happy!😊 TY!
Yay I’m so glad you like the customs! I never collected Blythe but lots of my collector friends did, so I’m totally familiar with them.
If you like AA dolls, you should definitely grab a Healthy Roots doll if you don’t have them yet.
Isn’t it so much fun personalizing / customizing dolls? They just feel so “mine”.

Hehe "Gateway Dolls". A very apt label. I've always wanted American Girl dolls since I was a kid in the 90s so I think it was a matter of time before I tried to get my own (got my first one back in 2021; 35th Anniversary Kirsten.) Barbie was my doll of choice growing up (and G1 My Little Pony if that counts.) One day I think I'd like to try to own one or two Integrity Toy dolls. It took me a very long time to come around to Rainbow High dolls. For some reason they were very unappealing to me. It was when a friend of mine got into to collecting dolls that I learned a bit more about the quality of the clothing. So I looked into them. That's when I learned about Shadow High and understood that I preferred the darker, edgier, aesthetic of SH so I'm glad that I found dolls that resonated with me. Thanks for sharing.
G1 MLP was my first OBSESSION! Like my school made my mom take me to a psychologist ☠️🤣
How many AG do you have now? It’s such a slippery slope, like all dolls. So be careful with integrity toys if you ever take the dip… it’ll end up being a dive!

@@DisBlaine Lol oh no! But listen I get it. G1 had so many beautiful and cute ponies. I was finally able to get a Sparkle Eye repro pony (Gingerbread.) I actually only have two. I got Evette Peeters last year and she’s currently wearing Kirtens birthday outfit that came out a few days ago. Living out my cottagecore fantasy. I don’t plan to have a lot (I don’t have AG money or spade like that lol.) Wouldn’t mind having a redhead and a mini-me. Evette is as close as I can get to a mini-me right now. We have the same skin tone and hair texture. I focus my buying more on the clothes and accessories sets (food and stuff.)
I always think it's interesting to see the paths that doll collectors take to discover and fall in love with various lines. I'm fascinated that Integrity was so early in your collecting journey; for some many others, those dolls come later, just because of the price tag. How many do you still have? And I ADORE that Healthy Roots is a line you collect(ed). I see so few people who are Doll Collectors who own that line, and it's a shame, because they're very cool. I'm personally strictly AG these days, and AG is actually what started me in doll collecting- I then moved to Rainbow High and have a fair amount of those. Then I collected Hairmazing Hairdorables, Project MC2, a little of G3 Monster High, and some Disney Designer. But then I stopped on all the other lines and decided to focus solely on AG so I wasn't splitting my fun money in too many directions. Loved seeing your custom RH dolls; Phaedra looked AMAZING with the puffs. Thank you so much for sharing this and giving us insight into your collecting journey!
I’m strictly AG too-along with Tiana, which I think goes without saying at this point lol. Integrity dolls are super luxe, so I can see why they come later. They’re the most “adult” dolls I’ve ever owned but probably the least “me” since I usually collect more cutesy or even horror. I also have most of the Adonis dolls and a couple Mitzi but never displayed them very much. I would guess I have 150-200 IT dolls packed in my closets for sale. It’s just so much work to sell, so I’m taking my time.
You have Disney designer dolls?? They were the first luxury dolls I got into, along with the heirloom (what the LE 17” dolls used to be called). Like everything else, the prices went up as the quality went down 🫠
I’ve managed to resist MH this long, so I should be fine now-but I’ve always seen the appeal. There are SO MANY amazing doll lines out there I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have to cram everything into my 1bdrm apartment 😆 You must have more space with that many collections… or maybe you’re more reasonable with the amount of each lol!

Glad to learn about your other doll collections before AG. I currently collect Rainbow High, which I only started doing this year. Your AG content is very thoughtful and informative so Im happy to know that you also enjoyed RH because they are beautiful. I love AG too though I don't collect them.
In the video I really downplayed how deep I got into rainbow high. I had every doll (RH and SH) up to series 4 RH and all the SH dolls. That’s my way of warning you how additive they are 😆

I was so happy to see the other dolls you collect! I think many doll collectors enjoy many types of dolls. I do as well. Your Rainbow high dolls are very pretty. I think they were a great fashion doll line. I tried not to go down that road myself so I only have three or four. I am more into 16” Robert Tonner fashion dolls now and American Girl of course!
You were smart to be selective with rainbow high! I went way too far. The only Tonner doll I have is Tiana - I got 2 of them. It’s a shame they stopped making them - or did they come back? The clothes were so beautiful.
Yes Robert Tonner Dolls are back! Rachel Hoffman is the distributor of the new releases. They do have beautiful clothes. 🤗

I love Rainbow High too! I’m still kicking myself that I didn’t get Delilah Fields when she was new at Target. The cheapest I can find her now is $100.😢

I remember seeing AG dolls on your IG and thought oh I wonder if he’s collecting AG dolls now and sure enough you are 😄 I’m so glad you started a TH-cam channel and loved learning about how you got into AG. And don’t feel bad about waiting to give your niece a Healthy Roots doll, especially since she's a hairplay doll so you do want to wait until she can take care of the hair!
Okay I found your IG! I’m not as active on there - but my Tiana collection has only grown lol.
I guess it’s easier to say all the things about my doll here than type then all out over there 🤣

The striped tank and green jacket your Ily4ever Tiana is wearing are actually both from the Girl of today Kickin' Back Outfit from 2006, its one of the few AG outfits I had back in the mid 2000s lol, love your journey!

Be careful if you go for Integrity! Before I knew it, I had over 100-and it didn’t stop there! Actually RH was the same.

I previously collected Barbie dolls and I still have a few but I donated a lot of my collection last year. The integrity dolls are fascinating. I have never seen them in person. LOl, I can understand I have duplicates of AG dolls and clothing because I want them to be free to play how they like. I never got into Rainbow High but one of my granddaughters love them so I have purchased a lot of the different releases of Rainbow High and shadow High dolls. The customs look beautiful. You sound like a great uncle. We have that Elsa Disney ILY doll well loved and played with and Zoe who is still in the box. That was a cool idea to make a boy doll. I have not gotten any of the other Healthy roots dolls and I should to support that small business. I think they also released outfits for Healthy roots dolls. Thanks for the video.

@@DisBlaine The line is really huge but they allow for a lot of play between the fashions and the hair. As much as I love dolls I overindulge my girls as I enjoy seeing them interact with the dolls. like you I try to shape the way they care for their dolls but it is still a work in progress. As always I enjoy your videos i appreciate they joy you fell from your collection.

I absolutely love what you did with your Phaedra’s hair. Rainbow High was my gateway into collecting 1/6 scale (fashion) dolls. I started with a few from series 1 that I got on clearance and then I was hooked. I wound up getting multiples of most since I wanted them displayed in both outfits (if I liked both) and I started customizing. I’m not good at styling hair but I did dye their hair, repaint a little and redress them. My collection quickly spread to include lol omg + teens, na na na surprise & na na na teens, Barbie, Disney, monster high, hairmazing, mermaid high, and cave club. I also have a few ever after high but I gave up collecting them since it was difficult to find them in nice condition for a good price. American Girl is what I started collecting first though and is what I would keep if I could only collect one.
That’s how I ended up with so many RH dolls too! Putting then in both outfits. I was so happy they stopped doing 2 for each doll. But then I also bought another extra to put my most favourite in the house and other play sets. It was too much. Well I mean I’m too much.
I’ve been tempted by the other dolls you collect but not enough to stop collecting my other things to make room. Dolls are way too addictive!

Great collection! I love all 25:24 your dolls from each company, but, I have to admit, the whole time during your video I feel like Claudie, and your Disney ILY doll were staring at me the whole time!🤣 I only have one AG doll; my daughter has several, but now…. Claudie is on my list of four different AG’s I’ve wanted for a while. With the ILY doll, I love her lively, cute eyes!❤

But I already have one AG doll (only one so far🤣) Josefina. So a doll with a face mold I don’t have yet would be nice. I need to wait till the end of summer to splurge on an AG doll, when we visit relatives in Chicago, and maybe 👵 Grandma (my mom) will take us there.🤣

Once she’s gone, you’ll be able to get the Beforever version, but this one will only be available a limited time. But Julie and Rebecca have the same mold as Josephina, so I guess Claudie if not Addy. I’m biased, so it’s hard to advise lol.

Do you have any Maplelea dolls ? I don't collect those but like their clothing for my AG dolls. They are better made and fit better than AG clothes fit, especially the older AG dolls. I have a grudge against AG (Mattel) for making the dolls thinner and thinner probably to save money but some of the clothing, example is MaryEllen's Pink Party Dress that I bought recently. I'm waiting for a return label so I can get a different one and see if if fits better. The MaryEllen I have was made around 2013 and it doesn't close in the back (Velcro). I've had that problem with other AG clothing, most notably the gray pants that came with the Harry Potter set and Courtney's acid wash jeans (cuffs are too tight and hard to get over the doll's foot). Do you have any problem with AG clothing not fitting AG dolls ?

I don’t have maplelea dolls, only the clothes. I’ll do a Maplelea fashion show video one day. The clothes are such amazing quality!
@@DisBlaine I bought my MaryEllen used. Think she was made around 2013 - 2015, not sure. I got her fancy pink dress and tried it on another doll, TM #51, first..She was also bought used so I don't have any idea how old she is. Woman that sold her to me said she bought a storage unit and the doll was in it. On that doll the dress is 1/4 inch too narrow across her back. I couldn't even close it. So, I tried it on my MaryEllen and it was a struggle to close it on her. I decided to return it thinking maybe, that whoever sewed it might have taken in more of a seam than allowed (I sew so understand this). Hoping that is the case and the next one will fit better. It's either that or they are putting less stuffing in the new dolls. They DON'T need to make the clothes fit that tight. I've complained about it for at least 2 years now. A lot of doll collectors that buy the old historical girls complain about the new clothing, too. Her body is chubbier not her face, although some molds do have a chubbier face. In fact, the older collectors in the FB groups call the older historical girls chubby. They are known for this.
@@djg5950 oh the bodies have changed that much! That’s so terrible Maryellen can’t fit in her own clothes! That’s a huge difference in such a small scale. I heard they’ve changed but I’m not sure I have any of the chubbier dolls. I haven’t had problems with fits yet at least.

Yes! There are so many more appropriate options for more, um, spirited kids to play with lol. They have those at target, so I can check them out on my next trip. She loves the Disney ILY dolls, so I’ve been getting her those
