I'll be done with my training soon & I pray that I'm blessed with a work from home position. The training I'm going through, helps to remove the A from my certification so hopefully it won't be hard. Can anyone provide guidance as to what secure internet you guys use in your RV? I’m pretty much camped out here on the campgrounds, but I’m still not sure what internet provider I can use to access sensitive patient information for work.

I looked them up and that looks way more convenient than the setup I was going to try. I'm single with no kids and I'll be using my own internet with a portable hot spot and a VPN. I know it's going to be a matter of finding the right company to give me a chance but I'm going to give it a try.

Do i want to be a remote coder? YES very much yes. My fiance is in the military and is now stationed in Germany, so i'm looking forward to doing medical coding remotely. However, I signed up for learning CIC self paced course through AAPC and its a lot harder than i thought; almost starting to doubt myself that i picked the wrong course or just plain cant do it

lol @ medical privacy, i work in the health insurance industry and our 'sensitive' medical information is all over the place including India and the Philippines and let's just say it doesn't always sound like a HIPPA compliant environment, and these are people with direct access to your medical notes & records.

One of my biggest goals is to be able to live outside the US and still be able yo work. I don't qualify for employment visas because I don't have a degree but many places allow ways around it if you have xyz income.
I do want to be able to work and travel. I would like to travel to spend winter months near my daughter who lives in the south. I live in Ohio. I would also like to be able to travel to my parent's house in NJ to spend time with them and my brother. We also have a camper and want to explore the country. I already took and passed the CCA but I am taking the CPC on Saturday. I have been looking for a job and more want a cpc than cca. I took your review course. Thanks for the help.

Are you using 3M encoder? When I code through 3m it tells me which codes are cc’s/mcc’s. Also I believe some coding manuals provide information in which codes are cc’s/mcc’s.

Do you know if most inpatient coding jobs companies use a VPN for their computer work? I live in a rural area and my satellite internet (the best available in my area) doesn't work well with a VPN at all. So I can't do that from home

Every healthcare and health insurance company is required by law to utilize a VPN. In addition most require a hardwire connection.

If you don't want to travel with physical books, you can use eBooks instead.
