When I started the game, the emotions were so heavy, just overwhelming. Goosebumps non-stop. Aerith got me to tear up... her gentle, loving nature, knowing the story of Crisis core and her fate... and yes the game is absolutely beautiful!

I didn't start soon enough, considering I wanted to get a 100% on trophies & fight Emerald & Ruby weapons & basically max out EVERYTHING. Right now, I could go and wipe the floor with Sephiroth, but I want to finish my plan to conquer the planet. ....just got #FF7R in the mail though. So, #FF7 is going on hold for now!

Let me give a little hint for you. The cold scary stare at the blue glowing door from Aerith was the sensing of the darkness under Midgar that was later revealed in FF7- Dirge of Cerberus. The story of Hojos super experiments and deep ground was exposed. The glowing door was the entry to his under ground lab. 👍

It does look really special, doesn't it? Final Fantasy VII made me become a fan of the series and PlayStation. It's too bad it's a timed exclusive for now and then it will come to Microsoft's console next year - but who cares! It belongs to PlayStation and it always will be :)

The original was enormous in a hundred different ways. My eyes are watery watching this for the first time. I really envy new players to this great story except that everyone in the world knows what happens. I feel a bit lucky to have played it OG and never known about the real gritty parts in a vacuum before the world blew up with tons of spoilers. I remember the moment that thing happened, still to this day. I still have the ruined and abused pre-order tee shirt from 1997.
I mean damn I've loved this game since its original release and is what got me into rpg games and I know I'm not the only one....we have all waited for a updated release to this awesome jrpg..everytime I see any trailer square comes out with hits me hard...cant wait for this incredible game
Considering the fact that this seems to be rendering in-engine it would seem that they've definitely touched up the base models a bit because the same model would be used throughout the entire game. Also, if you compare the pull-away shot where it shows all of Midgar there is definitely more detail added. Such things are quite common in game development and if anything it points to the fact that most of the marketing materials we've seen up to this point are a bit dated as compared to this opening which is most likely coming straight from the almost final version of the game.

You have no basis for saying that. I would think that it starts in the desert because it makes for good visuals, but I don't pretend to know what the creators are thinking, so I don't really know. Crisis Core is not canon any way. It doesn't work with the original game, and it probably won't fit with this either.

Well, in the original Sephiroth's real body is currently reconstructing itself at the Northern Crater where the Lifestream concentrates. He has also absorbed knowledge of the ancients from the Lifestream. The LifeStream / planet could also be worried about the Jenova threat and even Midgar's use of the Lifestream for energy consumption. Though I would think, considering the hints of darkness and A One Winged Angel music that it is more concerned with the revival of Sephiroth.
Seeing how they clearly changed the models in the pre-rendered FMV. It's clearly why they needed to take time to delay it. Also this is pre-rendered and nope the in game scenes will look quite different because of the aliasing
remember though because its a remake its not going to be 100% true to the original game. Its probably going to have a lot more plot than the original game as well considering this game ends when you escape midgar just like the first disk ends on the ps1. I hear this game is going to be like 2-3 disks long on ps4 FOR JUST MIDGAR. Real talk thats a ton of content.

Japanese fans started complaining that her face was too long, too western, and that it made her look "old" and "ugly", so I guess SE caved in to their demands :/ Don't get me wrong, because she looks gorgeous...but she was just as gorgeous before too, only in a different way. She definitely has a rounder face now and she looks more Japanese/anime-ish. Personally, I feel that she had a more realistic look to her before so I kind of wish they'd left her face alone.
Thinking about it, I think the moment when Arith looks up while the camera pans away, she's prob. thinking about Zach. Then, ironically, it pans down to Cloud, who's basically Zach at that moment. 💔
I would like to see a FF7 Crisis Core Remake as a prequel remake to this game. That would be awesome and throw in Advent Children as an on disk bonus. Insta sell for sure.
Anyone that really loved this game would not ask this question. This game changed everything in the RPG genre. It deserves the remake and the reaction videos across the world from people on TH-cam say it all. FF7 still remains the best ever FF game. Now it looks incredible. Some people hate crisis core but I love it because it was my first Final Fantasy and it introduced me to the beautiful world of FF❤️

SE really retconned the story to make Zack a more important character when they created CC. In the original game, none of that was ever true.

This game has surpassed the Uncanny Valley and is virtually indistinguishable from reality.
That transition from the Upper Plate to the slums beneath... Is flawless.
