Great series on Pleasant Valley 17, much appreciated. Going back to previous FS versions, this map has always been a mega production map which worked very well, even with all that they've added to the map.
Nice job showing off the map. It looks good, even for pre-release. I like the new features like the lumber yard, compost, seed/fertilizer production etc. The improvements to the main farm and the livestock areas are great. I think it would be fun to see you move to this map on your series. It will offer not only more variety and but also long terms goals. The *only* thing that disappointed me was that we weren't invited to join you. I'm really pretty amazing at stump grinding. :)
Thanks, yeah the more I've been testing the map, the more I like it. I haven't really done much (or any) multiplayer with farming simulator, but with this map, I could totally see moving in that direction eventually.
it would be nice if the extra items they have, such as the pig food silos, would be "sellable". i think there is only so much you can do on the stock map before it would just be repetitious. i would definitely NOT stop watching if you switched . i love you series, you do a good job. unfortunately i do not think i have the system that could handle this map (at least right now). (but i will give it a try LOL)
so i figured i would get a "convoy" together and head east (to the giant grass field), and was going to take a forest harvester to help cut the grass (i think it can cut grass lol), but couldn't find a low rider big enuf to haul it, guess will have to drive it over there LOL....i was able to transfer my gcv game over, but my pig manure is overflowing thru the sides of the enclosure, so just have to fix that.(downloaded ver 1.4) just thought i will give anyone an update LOL.
I really like this map. The one you just showed is a newer version from the one I have. Have the fixed the frame rate issue that they had with the older version? My computer only has a quad 4 processor and could only play the map for about 30 minutes before it just locked up but I really like the map. I just have been waiting on DAJ to get it updated more.
Kentucky Farmer that's great. I had a lot of problems with the gravel. I bought a ramp and set it next to the train and used a front loader with courseplay to load the train. And after about 3 scoops everything would come to a stop and lockup but that was not the only place that it would do this. I hope that they have fixed it so that I can play this map. I really want to have a go at it with single player. I think with courseplay that it can be done. I will be waiting to watch your new game play series with this map.
Started this lastnight and just harvested all the fields that were ready. Bad part is the "extra" silos onthe different maps do not appear on the main menu to see how much you have. And ha4d to find your way back to main farm. At least for me. And my crappy laptop game me fps as low as 15 at times lol
+Ken Poth yeah, for realism, it's nice that the storage isn't one big system like it was in 15, but I imagine that makes it hard to know how much you have at each location. I was thinking with Courseplay, you could have a network of transport routes to take grain from each silo back to the main one. Then you just have to get the grain from the field to the closest farm silo, then let Courseplay bring it home.
So you said you can pick up the gravel and put it on a train, but why would I want to do that? What is going to be done with it? Is it sold somewhere? Is it used in production for something else? Was waiting for you to tell us at that spot in the video and you never did.
Great job. I'm very tempted to start this map but it seems like I would be overwhelmed by it. What would help is if there was a document of some kind that illustrated production paths. Does anyone know if something like that has been developed and made available? What I am thinking of is something similar to the research paths that are in the civilization games. It basically outlines if you want to make X then here are the prerequisites and the different paths you can get there....anyone??? Bueler??
I would love if you moved your lets play to this map. There is so much more to do on it, it will keep the series fresh for both you and the viewers. One problem might be field jobs. Since there are so many fields, and you tend do every job available, you'll be spending so much time on hired jobs. Maybe you'll have to tell yourself that once you reach full reputation with a farmer, you wont do any more jobs for that one.
+Tedium yeah, I've been experimenting with transferring my save from GCV to PV17 and it looks like when they made the map, they didn't add any farmers (npc) they just increased the number of fields owned by each farmer, so I already have full reputation with everyone. I might still do a mission or two, but this will have to be the end of me trying to do them all. But I'm okay with that, at this point I seem to be making enough money and I have enough equipment that I don't feel the pressure to keep doing more missions.
One way I've handled missions recently is I won't do them for other farmers unless I intend to immediately buy that field after gaining full reputation. It makes the game a little harder (or less "too easy") as I can't rake in ridiculous amounts of money just doing missions but allows me to still get a good deal on a new field.
First of all, I'll keep watching your let's plays regardless of what you do. I like some things about this map, the expanded crop types and the pallet/board/silt/etc economy. That being said, I don't see why this map is 4x. I think it's 4x for the sake of being 4x. You're gonna get absolutely frustrated driving extremely long distances hauling your equipment around and delivering pallets here and there, not to mention all the time you'll have to spend either fast forwarding or cutting those parts out of your videos. And the fields are tiny. Like seriously, it's a 4x map and field 5 is still the biggest field? That's just sad, I can imagine as you're expanding you're getting annoyed with the smaller fields in GCV, and you're only going to have more of the same here. I don't think this map is suited for single player, like you hinted at a couple times throughout the video, if you eventuallly want to move towards streaming a multiplayer game then this map might be more appealing. It's also still in beta, wait for it to be updated more, and if they do an update that requires a new save you're gonna have to do your whole moving process over again. But it's your decision. ;). If you haven't checked it out yet, I would honestly recommend you look at Stevie's Pine Cove Farm. The animals are all at the home farm, the layout is much nicer than the animals on this map, with more room, mixing stations, a sell point by the wool (lower prices but if you're going to commit to 2500 sheep...), bigger fields (but not insanely huge like Rattlesnake valley), expanded BGA with 4 silos that hold 3.5 mil, two production centres at the BGA one that takes digestate and makes solid and liquid fertilizer and fuel, the other takes slurry and straw and makes solid manure. There are 6 greenhouses on the map that take water, compost, and solid manure and output pallets as well as the compost making station (and a compost bagging thing that makes pallets of compost to sell), and at the saw mill there are places that take logs and make tables, boards, barrels, pallets, and boxes. And everything that makes pallets have conveyor belts for pallet with the sale point at the end so you never have to handle a pallet once, it's amazing. Having all of those processes going will net you over 200,000k per day. It's also a gorgeous, well polished, and finished map. He's working on more updates but those are several months away (they will require a new save). And with your modding skills I imagine you might be able to take the distillery and edit it into Pine Cove? If you haven't checked it out and you want to play around with it shoot me a message on reddit and I can maybe send you my save file. Anyway, that's my two cents ;). TL:DR: I think this map is too huge and too unfinished for a single player game (and I recommend Pine Cove Farm) but if you move to it I'll continue to enjoy your let's play series! :)
Hmmm... those are some really good points. That's why I was never any good in the debate club... I pretty much always agree with whatever the last person said (well, and I never was in a debate club). Stevie has impressed me with every mod they've made so far and that map sounds like no exception. I just got back into FS17 last night... I'm only a day into a new GCV save so I might need to delete that and try Pine Cove.
ManCave2010 Do it. It's much better than GCV and he kept the town. The only thing I dislike is all the trees around the home farm it makes it laggy once you start piling in the equipment but the first thing I did was spend a couple hours to chop most of them down lol problem solved. And he's got a good number of the standard trees in there so it doesn't look bare. I also 'transplanted' my save from GCV in there so I started with many millions, which helped lol.
+Jan P I do like that map, two things. 1. I feel like that map still doesn't have a reason to use the trains. Where as PV17 seems to have that. I know it's farming simulator not train simulator but I look at it as why have them at all if you don't have a reason to actually need them. 2. From a purely "trying to grow a new TH-cam channel aspect", as far as I know no one is playing this map while plenty of channels are using pine cove and rattlesnake valley.
NO other YT-ers will try this as a SP. it can be very frustrating going from one place to another and very time consuming for you. I played PV15 and it was a PITA even on MP. I spent at least 3 hrs a day playing on a server just to get fuel/seeds and fertilizer...remember when you needed Corn, Sorghum and Sugar Cane to get fuel? Then you had to get Fetilizer and seeds also? IMHO this map should be left to MP Servers. I know you could alleviate this situation by staying at one farm. BUT if you decide to make it a MP server....I would be there to help as much as possible
Great series on Pleasant Valley 17, much appreciated. Going back to previous FS versions, this map has always been a mega production map which worked very well, even with all that they've added to the map.
Great video loved the walk threw. Like to see you review many more maps.
I will keep watching regardless what you do, cool map, I must say. Lots of different activities to do.
Liked and subscribed. Loved pleasant valley in 15. Great in depth review.

thanks for the info, i did find it.fyI: yours is the only you tube channel that i check daily for updates. keep up the great work
+Ken Poth thanks!

I would love to see you start on this map.
i was thinking the same thing about 10 minutes into the map just for the animal areas... I say its a go!!!
Awesome Map Review and Tour can we expect a updated V3 Map Tour now that its released?
Love it...
best map for fs17 to come out as of yet
Marty Stiles got it not long ago the map it took like an hour
I like pleasant valley as well

I can think of one other disappointment with the moonshine distillery, you can't sample the end result!

Ok, you got around to it with the rest of the map discovery. That works. Thanks.
Where can I download this from?

What is the name of that song?
I am a working on a map and I hope it run well
is this map available for download, could not find it in the obvious places.
yes, I think you have to have an account, in the forums they have a link to the dropbox account where they have the map. pvmods.enjin.com/
