I've loved watching the changing character of the countryside, some of which I knew from my early working life. Big smile on my face when the pictures with all the wellwishers came up. Great stuff. (Simon, LDWA).

Thank you so much. The journey had been humbling in so many ways and what has made it special has been the kindness from so many strangers!

Well done both on the walk & the fund raising. We have enjoyed watching both of the lovely video’s whilst having Sunday breakfast & will do the same for the next two. We both have lived in Somerset for most of our lives so can appreciate some of your walking this week. Looking forward to some sights from the Ridgeway national trail as we have walked that one. Thinking of you both during the week particularly when it is raining!

Hi Dave. I'm so pleased that you're following our journey and enjoying what we are putting together. We find the miles so much easier knowing that we have the support we do. Thanks so much.

Been watching your trip Dave and pal? A big trip and long adventure a big cause and a massive well done for raising funds. Top job.
Please accept my apologies for not making a contribution but since I stopped work funds are very limited.
Kind regards and have a virtual pint on me

Hi Dave. I'm touched that you have taken the time to watch the videos that I've made with my friend Alan. We've always said that people should only contribute if they feel able. Sharing with others what we're doing is also beneficial. I do hope that you enjoy what we're putting together and enjoy Alan's pieces to camera on heart related issues.

Another lovely video, though a shame about the horrible weather. Was that you pointing over the water towards home as you went through Somerset, David? Don't worry, it's been sodden here as well. Keep up the brilliant work, you're doing an amazing job.

Thanks for the lovely comment! You're absolutely spot on. As we descended the Quantocks we had a good if hazy view of Wales beyond Hinckley!!

I have been watching the progress on Strava so am aware of the conditions and such things as Alan's leg condition so it's a strange sort of watch - like you have read the book and are now watching the film..lol.... must say you have kept the film very much in line with the book which is good to see 🤣🤣 When I saw the Quantocks pop up it sort of surprised me at 1st as visiually in my head the route did not get up that way but of course it does and then looking again at your header map for the walk I realise the geographic map in my head has a different idea of the UK map - sorry I am rambling 😂 I was in Glastonbury 2 weeks ago and was thinking Alan might get some potions for that leg.... finding a regular chemist might be a bit harder although I did find one eventually..lol. Again, Dave you have managed to keep the viewers interest with your clips, always something a little unusual pops up that peaks my interest. Lovely selection of images at the end. Well done both and good luck for the coming miles. atb Al

      Hi Al.
I'm so pleased that you're enjoying the videos despite knowing what we've been doing already. We have experimented with Alan's pieces to camera and have had good feedback on the content. Indeed, we have been made aware that people are now seeking out courses to raise awareness of CPR and defibrillator use. We're so pleased that the awareness is growing.
Your support is always appreciated mate.

Glad to see the kindness of strangers continued. Disappointing that again the footpath network kwt you down. OS maps feel increasingly unreliable these days in letting you know which public rights kf way actually exist.

The public rights of way have sadly become badly affected by the austerity cuts. Resources taken from the rights of way departments and transferred to more vulnerability issues. It's a gamble for sure.
