I have my AC on Monday up in Glencourse coming then I will be going to ATR Birbright enlisting on the 18th of this month or the 2nd of next month. I was previously in AFC Harrogate training to be Vehicle Mechanic in the (VM, REME) but I decided to reapply back in December as recovery mechanic but then switched to Driver Communications Specialist. This video gives me a good insight! 😅 Gonna feel weird going in with a different regimental number to everyone else but I definitely am looking forward to restarting with a clear mind. My uncle was a Squadron Sergeant Major in the RLC so hopefully I can get insight from him too.
@@x67thThank you buddy! I was medically deferred however I recently was medically cleared after squaring few things away and I now have a date for the 20th August. 🤘
Want to be a rlc driver I have wanted to since yer 10 at school I’m currently half way though my application and in Kingston maurward collage military prep course
I transferred from the Infantry to the RLC back in 2016, it was without doubt the worst decision I've made in my entire life. As a heterosexual Caucasian male Soldier straight away my face didn't fit the public image that the unit was trying to promote. I had 3 female bosses a female OC, troop commander, and Sgt they made it very clear from the start they didn't like me, now I've always strived to be a model Soldier, always volunteering, my fitness levels are still super high, any way their dislike for me manifested itself in the fact that everything I volunteered for blockers we're put against, unfortunately I couldn't pout my lips, flutter my eye lashes and even perform sexual acts! I witnessed fraternization between junior female and senior male nco's on a daily basis, I witnessed females get away with enough corruption to write a short novel. Eventually I was Career failed, there was absolutely nothing wrong with me apart from the fact that my face did not fit. It was truely horrendous. Do not join the RLC. I'll only warn you once.
@@leecountffl9826 initially I was in the reserves for 3 years until last year, October 9th I started basic training in Catterick for RTR. Only had a week left till passing out and I had to daor, (family shit at home was kicking off). Thought leaving would be the best course of action. Turns out I was wrong. Everyone at home just looked at me like, wtf did you just leave for you mong?! That is something I'm going to have to live with, but I thought reapplying to my local reserve unit, doing two years and then going in full time seems like the best course of action rn
@@moose5996 I'm not very pc. The RLC is great if you're not a Straight White bloke your fine. I personally had a really bad time, I was career failed just for being a straight white bloke, who could do the job and who's fitness has always been high. You'll be fine mate
Which box ticker thought it was a good idea to sign this off? Even the music is poxy. Hang on, I think I know, it will have been a box ticking WO pushing for LE Commission.
I was a driver in the RCT back in the 80's, loved it, why yomp or tab everywhere when you can drive. LOL 😎
