Fun game, Crooked Mask is really tough, he's the only boss I haven't managed to beat on increased difficulty yet on digital from the base box (and not sure I will, the other ones took me forever and I barely beat them lol)
As for your question about revealing on an empty deck, it does actually work
Pg 7 of the rulebook, section,
"When the turn order deck is empty and a new turn order card must be drawn or revealed, shuffle all of the turn order cards together and place them facedown to make the turn order deck again."
Pg 15 of the rulebook, section draw phase:
"If at any time there are not enough cards in your deck to draw or reveal a card, draw/reveal as many as you can then flip over your discard pile to form a new deck and draw/reveal. At no point in the game do you shuffle your deck."
As someone else with a large collection of games, some of which have similar rules, I feel your pain of trying to keep every little rule straight without re-reading the rulebook every time you want to play a game again lol
Well done! Crooked Mask is a hell of a Nemesis, and you can praise yourself for having it in the past now! Fun gameplay!
great game boys. I would watch every single boss you guys play so keep it going! would also look forward to character/nemesis/card reviews as well.
p.s. bosses can't go over their max health but didn't make a difference here but just in case for the future.
Ahh good call out! I've been jumping back and forth between Aeon's End and Astro Knights this month so some of those small differences between them are throwing me off a little bit 😬
It can be really difficult when similare games differ on such small aspects haha. Some Nemeses from the later expansions do however state that they can go above their starting HP, but they are the exceptions :)
Would definitely love to see card reviews / boss strategies and stuff like that
I've actually thought about how for such a well reviewed game that so many people play, it's kind of weird how little online content there is for it. It has cool lore, a ton of different strategies, monsters, etc etc etc and yet (like you mentioned in your video) its super hard to even look up what content is from what expansion in this game let alone all that extra stuff.
Yeah my thoughts exactly! I know tons of people who love this game but there is such a dearth of online content about it. Even the wiki with pages like "list of nemeses" that was once helpful, hasn't been kept up to date.
The Wiki does sort by expansions as well, but I guess it is difficult to reverse search sometimes.
