Love your podcast guys. For once I feel like I have something to chime in on: Chris, it's not really about stretching, but about improving your functional range. Strengthen your body IN the deep positions that require you to be more flexible. Similar to how yoga might put you in these positions, but you can add more movement, and more load. This will help your body adapt to the new demands. Also, day of, warm up first, that's much more important and will enhance any stretching or flexibility exercises you do. Keep up the great work. And for the record, my Scorpeus 3 hasn't had issues yet after about 20 hours of playing...

I think its an important distinction...is it "breaking in" or slowly deteriorating each use until the paddle is no longer useful? To me a break in is the paddle changes over a couple of weeks and settles in and plays consistently for a long while.

The amount of foam between the polymer core (that is the honeycomb) doesn’t matter as long as it is static as sale. But a few people I know with the ONI suggested that the home continues the beyond retail sale

Gearbox claims that it is fine with their paddles since it's just hardened foam. It's not clear to me at this time how good or bad that crunching is for that specific paddles. For polymer paddles it's known as a bad thing.

Chris/Will-Thank you for keeping it honest. As buyers, we often can’t/don’t pre-test every paddle we buy. We rely on you guys to be the honest voice for us.

Seems like the USPA should have a 5,000 hit machine process before approving paddles. Doesn't seem that hard to implement.

Thanks for the great episode. Chris, I think I also need a cross court forehand dink lesson because that shot feels very awkward to me. Regarding the Paddletek TKO, ALW Bantam, and Engage Pro1...if these paddles really powerful, but are not thermoformed or have foam edges then what are they doing different that other companies have missed? Is there more innovation that could continue to improve cold pressed paddles (more traditionally made paddles)?

For the PaddleTek, it's probably because of the fiberglass they are using. I'm not positive if Engage does the same, I don't think they've ever publicly stated that they have any fiberglass mixed with the carbon fiber.

@@PickleballStudio That makes sense. My first paddle in 2021 (and I don't buy many) was a Tempest Wave Pro and it had a fiber glass face. The ball seems to have a little more pop and I consider it a very soft paddle

Played against a good player (4.0+) today who had a Joola Gen3 Perseus. I’m happy to support a ban on those things. I’ve never seen a pickleball move like that (spin and power).

They should be illegal based on USAPA's own rules (no trampolin effect). Mind boggling they're letting these paddles risk ruining the sport.

Guys, I think it would be great if yoiu added to your paddle reviews the play of different paddles in relation to the skill level of the player. I find that some paddles are better suited for different skill levels and playing style. For full disclosure I am a Six Zero guy, and the DBD still is one of (if not the) best paddles for 3.0 - 4.5 (maybe 4.35) player. As someone expressed to me the DBD increases the efficiency of the skill level of the player. Six Zero has proven to be consistent with a pretty uniform quality during the life of the paddle. .....Thoughts?

Compared to Carbon fiber, Kevlar has a more durable fiber capability because it’s not a brittle material.

If these paddles are truly getting more and more powerful as time goes by, they are risking a lawsuit. Someone is going to get hurt . concussions are possible. I heard that one person got a concussion on the pro tour. I can see amateurs going crazy with this paddle, not controlling it and hitting people in the head and in the eye and in the nose and doing some serious damage. The question is who is responsible the manufacturer or the user. The user knew his paddle is getting more powerful as time goes byand continued to use iteven after it exhibited core crushing.

Great pod. Glad I held back on the ONI. No way a face sheet can "stay put" when a core material is moving and changing like they do.Floating cores will have durability issues. There are foams out there that are solid and are not injected, but the labor to build a paddle using them would take a lot more time.
Don't pay any attention to those REDIT fools.! No more invites to Joolla releases for you Chris😆
Back problems at 70 are a bitch. Arthritis and bulging discs are my thing. Stretching is key to stay on the court. Sitting is the killer. Rec players don't have PT Trainers to work em like the pros.
