I am really super curious about "The Watchmen Chapter 1" , especially how it compares to the 2009 live action film and the original graphic novel. It is going to be very interesting to see if it follows the graphic novel more closely with the adding in "Tales of the Black Freighter" sequences that was omitted in the live action theatrical release. Thanks for the heads up on this animated first chapter, James. I look forward to purchasing it.

Also, the 4K scans for Monk have very nice natural film grain present with some fluctuations but nothing too distracting & I’ve enjoyed watching the entire Blu Ray💿 series immensely & it’s a huge upgrade over the old dull & poor looking DVD’s📀!!👌

A funny aside from Monk, when we started season three we were warned never to say "it puts the lotion on its skin" within hearing distance of Ted Levine 🤣 He was cool though, worked with him years later on a showtime show titled Ray Donovan when he was a guest star.

As a fan of ‘Brokeback Mountain,’ I am disappointed that Kino decided to cheap out on the special features. Just one new special feature-an audio commentary by some film historian. Were they not able to get Ang Lee or Jake Gyllenhal? Did they even try? Guess we’re just supposed to be happy they’re releasing it on 4K.
Like you, James, I would be worried about the ‘Bewitched’ series on BluRay considering Mill Creek’s record of cheaping out on the number of discs resulting in poor picture quality. I’m definitely going to wait for your review before deciding whether it’s worth upgrading my DVD set. I also wonder how they’re going to present the first two seasons (which were filmed in B/W). When released on DVD, some were released in the original B/W; others were released in a colorized version (it didn’t look the greatest from what I saw of a friend’s copy. I purchased mine in B/W because I believe in watching anything the way it was originally aired/filmed.
Question: do you know whether the BluRay included in the Film Vault editions of ‘Scarface’ and ‘Jaws’ will be region locked or unlocked? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
@@willnoiles2001 😕Yah, over the last few years I have mentioned dozens of times directly to the studio about their complete TV series Blu Ray sets to NOT🚫 over compress the episodes onto too few discs to save a couple bucks & spread the episodes across a couple extra discs to increase bit rate, but sadly so far they have NOT🤦♂️listened & I’m very worried that it will be very poor image quality like the 🧞♀️I Dream of Jeannie Blu Ray💿 was!!
😍I love classic TV series & Universal did a really good job on Leave it to Beaver Blu Ray💿 set, so I’m surprised the original studio didn’t just release it themselves on Blu Ray💿 instead of outsourcing it to another studio!!🤷♂️
😜Though to share some studio insider info with you: I’m currently talking with a completely DIFFERENT studio right now about a possible 2nd 🧹BEWITCHED complete remastered Blu Ray💿 set that might end up having almost double the Blu Ray💿 disc count but it would end up being a much more expensive set!!
@InSearchofPhysicalMedia, I personally would rather pay more for a better picture and sound quality than the cheapo version that Mill Creek will likely offer.
Like you, it makes one wonder why Sony didn’t just release the series on their own. Or maybe they’re using the Mill Creek version to determine how many would sell…
Any word on a possible 4k of Catch Me If You Can? It had a great steelbook rerelease on blu-ray a couple years ago, but holding out for a 4k release.
Sony has that Starship troopers 4K steelbook back with a reprint hopefully Sony keeps that up lol

I just want to ask about the British import of the 4K steelbooks of the LotR trilogy, will that be a good set, for the cases, I can always use my American 4k Dolby Atmos from the American release, when they did the first box sets, I just didn’t get the steelbooks, so I was hoping to get the steelbook cases, even if I can’t watch the 4k blue ray…
You mentioned that they do great with animated 4k transfers I think it would be awesome if Steven Spielberg could supervise a 4k restoration of an American tale, which I know he supervised a lot of 4k film restorations that he directed/produced
I can't stand steelbooks. I really wish this steelbook only thing would go away. I appreciate the fact that people like them, but those of us who don't shouldn't be stuck with them.
😕Sorry to hear you feel so strongly about them (it is just a case & the movie disc still plays the same regardless of the case), but overall limited edition SteelBooks are one of the biggest sellers for physical media collectors in the USA market & they already account for the largest increases in 4K UltraHD💿 sales figures for all the major studios!!👌
💥So because of how highly sought after & profitable they are for the studios, that’s exactly why they are only increasing in large numbers & will NOT be going away but are becoming more the norm than a standard 4K case anymore!!👍
🔥I never used to really care about the cases very much many many years ago until I started focusing on collecting Steelbooks for the artworks & now I absolutely love 😍 them & look forward to each new beautiful SteelBook artwork!!👌

I'm gonna mention a title that isn't planned for a 4K, but if the studies look at your comments, maybe the right person will see it. I wish we could get a 4K release of "MASK" 1985 with Cher and Sam Elliot. That's with universal (I think)

How does Columbo look? I've heard shows like TV Golden Girls are the best they'll ever look because they were filmed to tape. I've seen some pretty good AI amateur upscales I wonder why studios can't do the same on a professional leve.
