I hate how some people say that Arthur died peacefully, he didn't he died knowing that the person that ruined his life was still alive and with low honor he dies a gory death along with the fact that TB causes a lot of pain and suffering especially when doing basic things to survive(eating, drinking, etc) and at the end he never knew if John made it out or not.
I like thinking he died peacefully because it makes me feel better but I know he didn't TvT he lost so much and he was probably in so much pain. His father figure had betrayed him and he lost just about everything. I lost it when he died seriously I called a good friend of mind absolutely sobbing -

He’s a murderer and a thief who was best friends with a Mexican, black man, and a Native American during times where people were hung for being associated with those types. Bill is literally gay and Arthur has no issue with him, apart from him calling bill a drunkard.
