You have a great fountain pen collection. I’m personally not in the colorful pen phase (yet), other than my burgundy/ivory Pilot Elite 95S, so most of my pens are gray, black, transparent, white or blue. I have three preras: a royal blue, slate and a demonstrator calligraphy nib, and they’re fantastic little pocket pens. In fact, along with the Kakuno, the Prera is my favorite affordable steel nib Pilot. Regarding your Prera, you can always take the feed off of one of your Kakunos, and put it in the Prera instead. In fact, the Prera and Kakuno barrels and grips are also interchangeable, so you can put a Kakuno barrel on your Prera, and vice versa.
Love the collection! Look forward to the new pen days in 2025! My goal this year is to get a Benu Euphoria, either Earl Grey or Lavender Lemonade. Debating on what size nib before I pull the trigger. Thank you for mentioning the Asvine as a dupe for the Pilot 823. Thats my dream pen 🥰 I want the Amber one so bad! Lol Happy Writing! 💚
I love your collection and yes, I absolutely love the journaler nib too. Funny how the same pen can be so different for different people though. I have two Pelikan m200 and they are my favorite writers. I love comparing notes and different experiences.
What a fantastic collection!! So many amazing pens that I also love… and ones that I’d love to try some day. I’m intrigued by the journaled nib - I think that’s what I’d go for if I got an Estie. And omg, that calico platinum celluloid pen! 😍
Excellent collection! I haven't got as big of a collection, but as someone who has relatives from Japan come visit. I just can't convince myself to pay high price for a steel nib, like the Estie, Laban, Benu pens, when I have access to Japanese gold nib pens at reasonable price. One I think you might want to look into is a gift I got this year, a Pilot 74 shareholder, it is brown color, looks like a mini 823. Also don't write off Pelikan yet, I just got the M800 green demonstrator (M) this year that is discounted in all the retailers, what a pen, writes beautifully. I will say I am the same with you on the approach to using Chinese dups to try out a system or size, got a vacuum Asvine V200 to try out the vacuum system, not sure if it is user error or what but even twisting the knob still takes awhile for the ink to start flowing. Not sure I like that part. I missed out on the Lamy Pine Green, but I did get a 3776 Kasumi special edition at a super deal. Like for similar price to a normal 3776 in US retailers. The texture of the barrel is so unique, I don't think I have seen any other pen like it.
Great collection Danielle. My favorite grind is the cursive smooth italic by Kirk Spear. Love writing with that nib. I want a journaler nib and a mini stub from EB. They are never in stock when I look... lol One day. Did you see pens in your collection after doing this that made you remember how much you liked them and want to use them again or maybe want to give some another chance that you didn't care for as much?
I love your collection - all the greeeen 💚💚💚 My favourites are the Estie Rainforest & Sea Glass (have you seen the new one, Jurassic?? Gorgeous green & brown!) & the Nahvular Horizon 💚💚🤎 I had that on watch lists everywhere in case they ever had a huge special but they didn't, so I still love it but from a distance 💖
What a nice diverse collection of pens. Love the verbal honest reviews. Helps narrow down my purchases. So disappointed with my Pelikan Souveran. Lousy writer out of the box and it quite frankly pissed me off. Customers shouldn’t have to pay extra for pen tuning nor should they have to exchange a pen and wait for that process. Quality control is abysmal and I wish customers would complain or stop purchasing until these companies improve their products.
Great collection! I have many of these pens, but you have several I LOVE (here's looking at you, Opus). I've never had a problem changing the nibs on a Lamy 2000, you just unscrew the bottom bit, gently pull the nib out and insert a new one. There are several YT videos showing you how, if that helps. I switched the Lamy Pine Green nib, which only came with a fine, to an extra fine :)
Good collection; very different from mine although we have some similar pens. Except for my going crazy on the Kaweco Sport collection, I think mine is more vintage pen as I was very fortunate to get a lot through an online auction before they became popular.
I have a TWSBI purple glo! B with Witch By Starlight I just got my first Benu, a Grand Sceptre XII B, its lightness is kinda difficult for me but it's new so that may change. I have a bunch of omniflex in Innovas and Ritmas mostly, they're my favorite nib, but the Gala's flex nib is better imo. I also have too many EF sharks, I love them but only in EF, and only EF is hooded, great with non shimmer inks, don't dry out fast, no stress banging them around and great for penabling.
I'm loving these collections! Jinhao 82 is one of my favorite "knock off" pens! Also I've read these are dupes for pro gear - and it's now on the top of my list since i love the jinhao 82 so much! I've never tried Benu but keep eyeing them. Metropolitan was my first love, but now that i've had TWSBI's i'm finding them to be just okay - for some reason they clog and skip too much, so i've cut back on buying them. I do still love them for the size and weight.
“I need to stop my TWSBI buying.” 🤣 my TWSBI collection is like 4x as large. I have so many. And I’m obsessed with the diamond 580, so they get pricey…
I feel like we have similar likes. My pilot custom 823 is my most favorite. I have a F nib and it is literal perfection. My nahvalur horizon is beautiful but not used much. And I love love love my Benu. The Estie Journaler (mine is in tortoise) is also great for shimmers. It’s my go to shimmer pen now! My 2025 pen wish list is a platinum 3776 in koi. That red and tan resin is soooo beautiful. 😍
The extra long Arlington and the Fairview is my freaking favorite! Both of mine have BB nibs. No surprise all three of mine are variations of red and grey/red gold and cream/ and red orange and yellow lmao If you want to sell that RCP pen let me know 😂 Also this video was fantastic ❤❤
True story, I got an OBB nib from Appelboom for my 2000 when I ordered my Inkvent this year, not cheap at about half the price of a new pen. Unit just dropped right in, comes already assembled to the feed. Might be my new favorite pen at the moment.
No! Goodness no haha, this is just where my collection sits at the end of 2024. I have collected these pens over several years :) I did buy a few of these in 2024 though!

I've told myself I need one of those stunning nib holders, the end!😍

Oh my goodness thank you for sharing!! I had no idea. I've seen now with other commenters it has been common knowledge and I've been under a rock 😂😅

I have always admired the shark pens haha, but I never got one. They just have such a "fun" appearance, like writing with a shark! hahaha
New fountain pen term learned and stored in memory, ‘ink boogers’. 😂🤣🙃😊
I believe you can get Lamy 2000 nib units, but they're gold so still not cheap.
I've now learned that! Thank you! I 😅
What's up ダニエル! Very nice eclectic collection. 💜
Thank you Rob!! 元気ですか?😊

The Jinhao 82 is such a great pen! I love how many different styles you can find them in. The ultimate color combos can be made with them haha

The Pilot Custom 823 comes in 14k only. The 845 however, is available in 18k.
You are absolutely correct! I misspoke in the video! Too many pens at once hahaha 😅
1:40 in and I’m like….ohhhh okay! I dislike my Kaweco fine nib…soooo now I now what to put in there to see if it’s better!

If you are considering selling the ferris wheel brush pen, I'd be interested.

I'll definitely let you know haha. 😊 The Arlington is growing on me the more I use it, I think I was just in shock initially with how large it was 😅
@mydandeliondiaries oh good!! I'm 5'10" and don't have the smallest hands so it's perfect for me. I definitely can see how it's a big pen.🥰
10:24 This isn't exactly accurate. There are videos of people swapping out their Lamy 2000 nibs
Yes! I have now learned that they are changeable! I never knew 😅😅

Nothin like tellin the whole internet how small his...collection is
The Pineider pen is on sale at Goulet Pens right now.
Not all bought in 2024 right ?
No! Goodness no haha, this is just where my collection sits at the end of 2024. I have collected these pens over several years :) I did buy a few of these in 2024 though!
Jowo is pronounced “yo-vo”.
Hideous, chronic upspeak and vocal fry. You really need to stop it.
