This game showed the large talent gap that exists, and probably always will exist, between Kentucky and powerhouse SEC programs, but it also shows what a great job the Wildcats did to go 10-3 and finish ranked 12th. They got everything out of their team that they possibly could have in 2018.
I agree. Given the difference in talent, Kentucky fans should be proud of the season they had in 2018. They obviously coached those guys up and had an impressive year. Good luck to you guys next year, when you're not playing UGA of course lol.

Khalaf Dakheel I’m a UK fan just coming back to see to see what they said about us coming in to the game, I went to the game and honestly after it I wasn’t mad or anything mainly it’s the first time I’ve even seen UK in that situation and it was just cool to experience it no matter if we won or lost.
I was sitting in the endzone. God I want this back so badly!
The way those fans were through this game after waiting so long for this is something special
I always love going back to these 2017-2020 games for so long under smart Georgias been great but never the best always at the cusp of it but not there yet. Plus Bama and LSU killing it with their start players. Honestly the late 2010’s was some freaky great football. Go Dawgs!!!
I remember thinking we may never win a big time game. Looking back now, the dynasty would be already established if we won the Nattie in 2017.

I couldn't imagine being a lifelong UK football fan and not just one of the fans who looks away from basketball for a bit because the football team is good. This had to be amazing for the true UK football fans. As a Georgia fan, I didn't really think UK would beat us without a lot of help (turnovers) from our offense. UK didn't have the offensive balance to keep up if Georgia got over 24 points.
This game is hard to separate from the Georgia-Florida game a week before. Georgia faced their two rising East challengers in 2018 back-to-back and showed that they both still had a ways to go.

@@allabouthewaves4354 and UK fumbled once, also false started inside the 5. So there's potentially 11 points UK lost. I honestly think Georgia was as good as Alabama.
They were better than UK for sure and absolutely deserved to win, but UK did not play its best game. Not up to the big stage. That stage was basically unprecedented in modern UK football
Paul Sanford Georgia left a lot of points on the board against Kentucky. Both Georgia fumbles were inside Kentucky territory and they kicked 2 field goals inside the red zone. Georgia easily left up 12-20 points off the scoreboard in the game.
Paul Sanford Kentucky didn’t play a team on Georgia’s level all season long too. Snell got stuffed for majority of the game. He wasn’t Benny Snell until the 4th when Georgia had the game sealed.
@@allabouthewaves4354 Did you actually rewatch the game in this TH-cam video? Snell ran it pretty well in the 1H and 3Q and I don't think had one carry in the 4th. UK didn't capitalize on its early opportunities to score.
I didn't deny Georgia was better -I actually equated them with Alabama. My point was UK also left points on the board and didn't play its best game. UK's mistakes in the 1H (e.g., false started causing a FG instead of potentially a TD, fumble near red zone, long kick return to set up UGA's easy first TD) doomed any chance they had to hang with UGA. And yes, if UGA had played an even better game, of course they would have won by more (though most said this was the best game UGA had played all year in terms of execution, so gotta consider that, too).

I remember tailgating for this game. UK Fans had gotten there at 8am for a 3:30pm tilt. Great tailgate as everybody was sharing and drinking away. Game was horrible as GA took UK out to the woodshed.

This is where if UGA took care of business against Texas in the 2019 Sugar Bowl, you could make that claim. All we gotta do is beat FSU in the Orange Bowl and hope for a particular set of circumstances to happen.
