that "mouse" you found isn't actually a mouse, or even a rodent at all! it's a brown antechinus (Antechinus stuartii) a small native dasyurid marsupial, you can tell due to the long nose and double lobed ears, they usually eat insects and fallen fruits and are excellent little predators, wholly unique and endemic to Australia
Oh thank you for that info, I was on his side for helping an animal, but I was thinking "aren't mice invasive to Australia so isn't this actually a bad thing?"
What a perfect video 💚 Wildflowers, flora, waterfall, cold swim, history, cave, fire, delicious food, a mouse friend and a beautiful soul. Love this so much 💙 Wow
This is what I love about this channel. One week you’re literally in the article with snow & ice & freezing. The next you’re walking around in T-shirt with, what I consider summer. You gotta love Australia with its diverse range of environments. Scotty, thank you as always for show casing your beautiful country. The bird song never fails. It’s absolutely stunning.
Another great video. I love the addition of the names of the bush tucker down in the corner. Not being Australian I don’t always catch the names because of “your” accent. If I could make a request, it would be that you put the names of the birds we are hearing in the corner too. I spent 3 years in Australia (Canberra ) many years ago and was absolutely smitten by the noisy and colourful birds. (My favourite was the kookaburra). Looking forward to your next adventure.
Simple things like this we take for granted,in our everyday life’s surrounded by buildings, trains and buses we forget how beautiful Mother Earth is and how healing going out in the bush like this can be
Always enjoy the Australian adventure channels. Especially Scotty’s. In North America, we are just heading into fall. Have a few 90 degree days left in the south but, all the hardwoods are changing colors. Hunting season is beginning soon also. It fascinates me the difference of the seasons we have. Love the beauty of Australia. Keep up the good work Scotty!
Not bothered by the Audio Scotty - It was really relaxing to hear that constant waterfall in the background. Loved your little friend's visit. Very special
Hey Scotty, that cute little fella nibbling on your cutting board at 17:45 looks like a Brown Antechus, a native little fella. I am not an expert on ID so this is my guess. They can be identified because their head/nose is longer and more pointy than a mouse. Also I believe the Antechus tail is shorter than its body, while in rats and mice, the tail is longer than the body. Great to see you took good care of this little guy. :) Thanks for another epic video mate. Best wishes to you and the family.
I know you were in a rain forest, but it looked like a jungle with the dense vegetation and bird calls. I guess rain forests and jungles are pretty much the same. Being an amateur bird watcher, I'm going to look up Australian bird calls and see if I can identify what I was hearing. Beautiful calls. The waterfall was lovely. The whole place looked like something out of a King Kong movie. You guys are coming into Spring and for us here in the U.S., today is our Autumn Equinox. Leaves are starting to color. Wonderful video. Take care.
You are a braver man than me Gungadin. Not only were you revived in the water (very brave) but it does the soul good to go back to nature. Lovely video. Regards to your wife and baby. Take care, keep safe. ❤ Dorset, UK
Man, you cook up feasts while camping better than we do at home 😄 That was a beautiful site. Rare to get a water hole like that, that you can camp at I'd imagine. Not overrun with people.
I think I have come to realise there are a lot more koalas around than what I have thought, there are just super hard to see. Borrowed a mates thermal the other week and there is so much wildlife in the bush that you would just never see without out, including koalas!
Scotty we absolutely love your videos! I started watching them for inspiration but now my wife and kids love watching along and thinking about adventures. Great work mate!
Nice overnighter. Scotty, I hiked in for years without a walking stick or anything. I later found that hiking sticks worked really well for me, especially traversing steep grades, creek crossings, and rocky ground. Found other uses for them. I was wondering if there were any fish in that beautiful spot. Nice meals and nice trip.
Um verdadeiro paraíso, com a vegetação que lembra muito a mata atlântica do Brasil 🇧🇷. Que privilégio ter uma cachoeira linda e um lugar pra acampar pertinho . Incrível 👏🏼👏🏼.
Good vid mate. For me the cooking element was the highlight. Love to see quality food prepared in this style makes the video so much more enjoyable. Cheers Scotty
Another great Video Scotty. That Mouse looked like a native hopping mouse. Glad You let him have a feed and didn't try kill it. He wasn't shy at all. Awesome spot ya had there. Cheers for another good watch.
I’ve recently discovered your videos and channel on TH-cam, that I watch whilst giving my newborn his morning bottle before I go to work. Only to find out that you’ve recently had a baby boy as well! Zach was born 20th August and I am loving having that bonding time with him, with your adventures on in the background. So you being a new dad as well makes it even more special. Keep up the great work mate and congratulations on becoming a father!
Scooottttyyyyyy🇭🇲🇭🇲🇭🇲🍺🤘🤘i was in oz a few years back in Harrington Beach nsw and was lucky enough to see a koala near my sisters house, the best thing tho was as kiwis we never see any of this so u can imagine how stoked we were when my brother and his misus and me walked to the shops on dusk and a huge wave of Bats was flying above us they started circling us and then flew off , never got to see a snake tho😂😂😂ill be back🤘🤘🤘
Ya found a nice spot there Scotty . Got some amazing recordings of the birdsong and that first cascade was so pretty . Such a classic blue mtns cascade .
Just a beautiful place Scotty - thank you for taking me along. The loud waterfall was just bliss no apology. When you get back home take good care of both your little men. And of course your lovely wife and now mother. Please thank her for letting you go on these adventures and letting us enjoy with you whilst she is managing at home herself. We appreciate it. 🙏🙏👍👍 PS for the overseas audience perhaps when you can highlight the birds - like the whip bird etc very prominent today.
I really enjoyed this one. It brought back a lot of memories from 10 yrs ago when I was down the whe. And the camera work you have done on this trip is A class you have definitely excelled with this one mate.
How cute was that little mouse. What a time of year too with the brid noise and the wild flowers growing. It really is a stunning time to be out in the bush. Beautiful waterfall too, makes me want to camp near a waterfall up my way.
Always enjoy your content mate, although I'm way behind on watching them. This spot would have to rank in the top 10 of outstanding places you've found to camp. Well done on another awesome video.
Love your work Scotty! Such a gorgeous video, so many beautiful shots and amazing bird calls 😍 love learning more about bush tucker from you, and seeing your joy and wonder at this beautiful country 🥰🥰
Thoroughly enjoyed this video, Scotty, and appreciate the trouble you go to setting up shots on difficult terrain. Wild flowers, birdsong, stunning scenery. 😊
I went looking for bush tucker in the Royal National Park yesterday. Found the pine leaf Geebungs. Found the broad leaf as well but did'nt know what it was...now I do. Thanks!
This was a real gem aye mate..wow, absolutely stunning there. That a cool bit of history thanks for sharing, and that little rodent looked like it was in heaven with that little feast lol.
Another great video mate. You’ve inspired me to grab a pack and go for my first hiking camp next weekend up at Queensland. Been camping plenty of times before but always in comfort with my ute close by 😅 hope to make it back in one piece
So the water was a wee bit nippy ay! So pretty! What a gorgeous country we have! Btw with babies it helps having them in the bed or right next to the bed and when they need to feed just plop out the boob and everyone gets a good nights sleep, I raised my 4 like that and never went without sleep! 😉 👍Greetings from Northern rivers.
Loved this. Great to see you still getting out there as a new dad. This might my favourite of your camp spots yet. Another inspiring adventure. Keep up the great work.

Those falls are imitated in many strip malls everywhere. Yours are the real natural falls. Appreciate what you got and preserve it.
Amazing spot! Loved as always the “hooroo” at the end!
What a beautiful forest. Thank you for sharing

Sweet Baby Ray's has made it all the way down under! It has to be the best commercial BBQ sauce!

Cheers Marg.
Scotty you just cut the onions the same way mattsy did when you tore him a new one 😂
THE best waterfall in the blue mountains. A shame they have closed off the fire trail and made it such a long walk in and out.
What is the name of this one?
When did they close the fire trail? I was there not long ago and it was open.
What an epic camp mate! Findong something like that and keeping it on the dl is a dream. No one to wreck it 😂
Gorgeous over nighter Scotty, looked amazing.
