- In this session we cover chapter 45 of Prophets and Kings. Prophets and Kings was first published in 1917 and covers biblical history from the time of Solomon through to the end of the Old Testament. This is "Part 2" of OT with DA because we've already done Part 1, Patriarchs and Prophets. If you haven't already followed along with that reading challenge, please do! I think you'll love it! The 70 years weren't an arbitrary number of judgment by God. It was based on their direct disobedience to His statutes (Lev.25:4 & 2Chr.36:21).
God tried to stay the consequences of their rebellion as long as He could, but they (like we) insisted on having it "their" way.
Swaggert: "I am a sinner. I cannot save myself. I belong in hell!!!" What is sin? Badness, wrongdoing, immorality? Or just ignorance/inattention? Is that all that is aging me and leading me to my ultimate grave? Inattention?
