    When there’s big names like dyanti, Barrett, Marx, savea etc playing and the stadium is still mostly empty you know you are in trouble. South Africa needs to encourage fans to show support if they’re to catch up with New Zealand club rugby 🙌🏻

      You have the quality players in SA to match NZ, so I do not know why the crowds are terrible. But it is in general, across all the Super rugby franchises, even with NZ.
      Personally it looks like Super rugby is dying. NZ could have its own league like the UK and still continue to expand on players. If anything, the Kiwis probably should do this, but the downside is that the Kiwi sides will miss out on playing the South Africans, Australian etc, etc sides. But if things carry on this way, then all the Southern Hemisphere sides, other than the rugby championship will go their own way.
      I fear for the rest of them, other than NZ sides if this happens. NZ can sustain, probably match the UK leagues for money as well if they get it together, then we can take players from the UK like they do to us and pay them UK money and ruin their league by taking all their skill out of the UK. It is no different than what is happening in NZ, SA, Australia, is the pommies are taking all the good players, which means we are on the slide. So perhaps it is time to split away from Super rugby and develop our own leagues down under that rival that of the UK, before more Fijians, Kiwis, South Africans, etc, etc end up playing for England or Ireland.

      Maybe something like a global club competition could spark some wider interest? Some kind of competition that would allow Saracens vs Crusaders and Leinster vs Waratahs would hopefully generate bigger crowds than what there currently are. It is sad to see such low levels of support

      yup agree .... there are bigger crowds for the sa schools programme of matches than there is for the super rugby ..... with regard the uk and france you cant blame the player for following salaries that over 4 - 6 years can earn them £400,000 - £1,000,000 ..... the problem is that they then qualify for england, france, ireland, scotland and wales and are hoovered up .... it is disgraceful that if you took the players of kiwi, polynesian and saffer heritage that played in the 6 nations this year and created their own team they would win the 6 nations hands down ..... I am genuinely all for expanding rugby with different cultures and experiences but World Rugby has to stop this nonsense of residency and must put a cap on the number of players coming in from overseas .... that way ALL leagues in the north and south remain strong, develop home grown talent and the international matches become a real clash of nations and different playing identities once again ..... less is more ..... rant over, sorry, just feel that the bastard money men at the top of the IRB, World Rugby and SANZAR are killing the game that we "ordinary" grass roots coaches, fans and players love.

      @KiwiGraggle 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@darrylroberts9384 Nice compliment, but to me SA sides are catching up. Lets be realistic here. Sure Crusaders and Canes are way ahead points wise, but that is it from NZ. All the other sides are down the bottom and bare in mind those Kiwi sides have International players in those squad, e.g. Blues, Highlanders, etc, etc. NZ cannot rely just on the 2 sides they do have up top for the All-Blacks.
      SA sides all of them are 30+ points so to me they have possibly a bit more strength and depth as a country than the Kiwis do at present, and again this is because we keep losing fine players, including SA to the bloody British sides. If the Southern Hemisphere can stop this rot and players leaving for Pomland, then the Southern Hemisphere will yet again dominate from 1-3 in World Rankings. Until then though, we have to endure low numbers in the stadium and a constant barrage of Pommie sides taking our best players, which really, really pisses me off how still the Kiwi's, Aussies, South Africans continue to let our good players F off up North. It is an insult mate.

A few weeks ago, Kwagga was put on his arse by someone he tried to tackle and we did not ridicule him for that.
