I think my 02 jeep liberty sport just did the same thing. Its knocking just like yours and I was thinking about getting a whole new motor.222,324 miles. And this might be my issue. Knock coming from drivers side
I have the same problem with my 04 jeep liberty 3.7 right now. Just happened the other day. Any other suggestions? I may attempt this myself but a shop told me I may need the head replace as well to prevent it from happening again.
@@RolandCaston I was thinking of buying the set and replacing them while I'm in there. How do you rotate the engine to pry out the ones that are in the compressed state? Was sure if its okay to trip the starter to move it.
Misfire on 2 is often the head gasket. It will leak some coolant into the combustion chamber and foul up the spark plug. If it isn't too bad, you can drive it like that for a long time.
have you had a problem timing chain tensioner? have a similar noise on mine. pulled valve cover and all looks to be in good shape. no codes. just developed a slight ticking noise
You got 10 months out of it just by adding the clips. You enjoy diagnosing as much as repairing. Let's hope the lifter is the culprit. If that one jumps off again I guess you suspect the spring next eh.
Thank you so so so much!
I was able to fix my jeep watching your video after everyone told me I needed a new engine.

Seems like the rocker clips didn’t do their job .
They can only do so much.
Thanks a lot its very big help for my 07 dodge nitro rocker arm replacement more power
I stumbled my way through it. Happy that it helped you.
How long did it take you on this job?
Thank you very much for a very informative video.
How does new rockerarm snap in place ? You did nt show how!!
So even with the rocker keeper on it it still fell off?

I think not a head unless there is so much sludge that it can't flow oil to the lifter bores. I recommend new rocker arms and lifters. They get worn.
And.....thanks for watching and commenting. It's really appreciated.

@@RolandCaston I think the mechanic said the head because of the valves not seating properly which could cause them to pop off.
So how do you know that this is it? If I get her open, will I be able to see abnormalities compared to the other ones? Got a misfire on 2
Experience. Yours could have some other problem. How could I know about yours?

Ticking is likely a bad lifter

Maybe so
It didn't work and you got other problem maybe Valve spring or stem?
If I recall correctly I eventually fixed it with a new lifter and rocker arm.
