First! The toolset is based 100% on the original pst, which didn't have a scissors . They could easily make a PST2 Version. There is actually enough space on it to fit the scissors, without loss (just the lanyard). But I'd rather them not have the scissors..vic scissors are SOOOOO much beter.
Evening mate. Agree with you the amount of play in both sides before the spring retention kicks in is a little poor. Still at only 50 notes you get what you pay for. Love the dog burp 😂 you gotta love ‘em!
We've had a few dogs over the years and they've all been pretty good with wind from both end. Our youngest whippet, Stanley, is like a double ended wind tunnel 🤣 hopefully I'll get either a Leatherman Free or a Victorinox Spirit next. I'd like to see what else is out there. Do you have a go to multitool?
Hi there. I've had a few in the past however they've usually been the smaller ones like the Micra, Style and Squirt. I'll definitely check out the Suspension. I've heard a few people mention it over some other higher priced Leatherman tools. Thanks for watching buddy
I totally agree on the scissors part ...they're just sooo useful :) Other than that it doesn't look bad ,it just doesn't inspire me to immediately dig out the wallet 🤔 Maybe I'm just spoiled 😁 Good to see them think about people outside the US
Thanks Christophe. I wouldn't say spoilt. The truth is there's a lot of choice out there nowadays so something really needs to click and hit that 'yes, I need that in my life' button 😂 always good to see more world wide friendly tools 🤟 stay well and safe buddy
The original Leatherman was the PST, not the Rebar, that was also a full sized tool with a slipjoint blade, so the Bond isn’t the first to have this. I agree scissors would be nice but personally I like the slim profile so think adding an extra layer would spoil a good edc multitool. Still good review of a good tool. I like the Bond, it’s well made, not too big or heavy and sensibly priced I’m not overly worried about carrying it daily.
I think as a first multitool, it is probably okay, especially for the price. The slipjoint mechanism was decent on the one I bought, but after having a Wave +, I found the build quality really disappointing and the sharp edges on mine on the inside was giving me scratches similar to paper cuts when gripping the pliers, I found it difficult and uncomfortable to use. I sent mine back. Like most things it's a personal choice and I decided it wasn't for me, and went for a Victorinox Spirit, which has an awesome build quality.
HI Rob. The Swiss tool and the Spirit as definitely on my list. Jon Gadget adid a piece of content before Christmas comparing the two. There's a lot more engineering and polish with the Victorinox tools. I hope you're well buddy. How's the new role going back as a medic?
I love my Charge + with the G10 scales because of the real sense of quality it brings, and this one just feels a bit cheap. Fine for throwing into a tool box, and being UK friendly (maybe?) is a bonus. I'd get the Wingman over this every time. Thoughts?
Hi fella. I do like the Bond and think it's a decent tool for the price. Those Charge + tools with the G10 scales as sex AF. I'm thinking of either picking up one of the free tools (the versions with out the pliers) or the Swiss Tool Spirit. Jon Gadget did an awesome piece of content on the OG Swiss tool and the Spirit before Christmas. I'd like to see the difference between European and US engineering. How long had you had your Charge now?
@@MoorlanderEDC I've had my Charge+ for just over a year, and I carry it as much as possible. Not only does it feel and look great in the hand, but it also ticks every box on my multi-tool wish list. The cost is an issue, but the extra fifty quid tends to fade from my memory more and more every time I pick this little orange beauty up. I was almost swayed by the free series, but they didn't seem to get the positive reviews that I was expecting when they first came out. I think Jon G makes a compelling argument for the Spirit X, so I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts...
I think I'm dubious on the free models too. The whole magnet thing and one hand use has never held back Victorinox tools for centuries (... Maybe 😉). I'm looking at them with an open mind and think I'd make sure they're compared to Vic tools
Thanks this was a really helpful review, it actually convinced me not to buy one though! Feels like the Bond gets a lot of leeway because of the Leatherman name. If you paid £50 for a premium knockoff that had a droopy knife that you could slice your hand on and a file that was proud of the frame while you were using the pliers I think most people would be a bit annoyed. I have a Wave+ if I need specific leatherman tool set, else for edc I typically have a small knipex cobra in the bag to compliment a SAK.
Hey Joel. That's one of my favourite comments today buddy. One of the reasons I started to make content was to help create detailed content that helped people to make a better informed decision and greater confidence before they spend their hard earned cash. The flip side of that has been that it'll help guide you if it's not for you. There's a lot of products I'm offered from manufacturers that I turn down because I'm not sure they'll work for me. Whereas items like this have been bought with funds from the National Bank of the Kingdom of the Moorlands 😆 I'm a huge fan of some KNipex Cobras and a SAK too. Thanks for watching Joel. I hope you had an awesome weekend
I would happily lose the knife in exchange for scissors. I only ever carry a multitool in addition to a knife. I will also have at least a victorinox in my pocket so if I have a multitool it's in my bag.
TIDGE!! This is crazy. I was just commenting on another video about the Bond and said exactly the same. A decent pair of heartier scissors would be brilliant on here. The knife is just ok here, and a swap for a scissors would mean I'd carry it was more than I do now. We need to email Leatherman and get a petition going :D Thanks for watching
People are to whiny these days spoiled we are. It's a.good tool just like the pst was when it came out it just doesn't appeal to some which is with everything in the world
Nice video. The Bond reminds me of my PST-II. Now, I might be wrong (I am not a lawyer) but from discussions with lawyers and watching a UK based lawyer on TH-cam, technically this would not be UK legal for everyday carry. The blade is internal, so would not be able to be closed when the tool is folded. Although the blade does not lock when the tool is open, it cannot be closed without an extra operational step. This is enough to classify it in case law as a locking blade. The other thing that has legal precedent in case law is that although the statute says 3" cutting edge, the length of the blade is to be measured from the base of the knife or tool body and the point. Again, I might be wrong, but arguing with a jobsworth and a judge is not my idea of time well spent. This does really grind my gears, as multi-tools are so bloody useful! I have four Leatherman tools, and daren't carry any of them. Carrying one because it will be useful at some point, but I don't know when which is why I carry it, is not seen as a reasonable excuse. The law is (often) an ass.
Hi Steve. Thanks for this. I think it shows that even when Leatherman tries to update a line then it's still a real grey area. I'm guessing then the other Curl would be better as it's main knife is accessed without having to open the handles. I totally get your point on the 'jobsworth' scale. I always advice anyone carrying a UK legal knife to be courteous and respectful to anyone asking about it. Although it may be 100% with the law, the attitude you have towards a Police Office will generally sway whether or not you're going to have it confiscated PS. I've definitely learned something today about Leatherman. I didn't even realise there was a PST 😊 It's the joys of making claims online without being super sure I'm right Have an awesome week buddy
Thanks John. I hope you're well buddy. You're spot on. Having read a few comments I'd never come across the PST before. It's the beauty of putting stuff online 👍 thank you for watching

I like it over my wave plus because it’s smaller.
Hi Kevin. It definitely has that advantages. It's maybe 6 kilos lighter too... Although don't quote me on those weights 😉
I've had a bunch of super tools including the original Leatherman. Best bang now, Gerber suspension 30$ at big box and your done.
