Eat: DEWAKAN Restaurant - Malaysia first 2 Michelin Star Restaurant

Huge congratulations to Chef Darren and the amazingly dedicated team at Dewakan for being the first Malaysian 2 Michelin Star restaurant!
Had the immense opportunity to dine at the regal Dewakan Restaurant last month and boy, it was indeed a divine gastronomic experience for the senses and taste buds. We are truly thankful to a close friend for this dinner which costs RM580 nett per pax without juice or wine pairing yet.
For context, Dewakan was named one of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants and the Best Restaurant in Malaysia 2019 because of their inventive play with local Malaysian herbs and fresh produce by integrating them into its menu which uses more formal French techniques.
The immaculate dishes you see on this video are part of their tasting menu from December 2021. The moment we were lead to our table, the view blew me away and with the rain, it created this misty and enchanted atmosphere surrounding the heart of KL city with the Petronas Twin Towers being the central focal point.
The highlight of the evening besides the food was sharing the elevator as we depart with Chef Darren Teoh. We spent a good 20mins downstairs of Naza Tower chit-chatting with Chef Darren on their journey especially though the testing pandemic period.
