Don’t act like Su trumpets left in 2017 and Su brass is heavy now because the tubas back in 17 wasn’t that strong so the trumpets stick out more.
4th song by SU, lots of skating on runs and the intro, the attacks were lacking at best. Harmonies and blends were nicely written, but the Trumpets didn’t carry there parts at all

As a big SU fan.. let's be real about this. Mississippi Valley State won because this was not a screaming contest. If it was..SU would have won. But it wasn't. I don't know if SU had taken Valley for granted, but all due respect...Valley were the ones that sounded more toned. I know that wasn't all of SU band members..but what they had should have sounded better. That's nothing the SU band director can't fix, because they didn't sound clean like they normally do. To me there was no balance and all brass. The 4 main sections I consider to be in marching bands are: woodwinds, brass, percussion, and color guard. (That would be the Dancing Dolls) It's time the band director for SU make a change and get a big wood wind section. What's so hard about that? They went and added more tubas, and that's just more brass. They have HBCU bands getting bigger. SU got a little bigger...but the woodwind section stays the same size.🤔 This is my comment on what I see with my eyes and hear with my ears. This is not a debate!

Clean up them sections clean up them arrangements and get to being the band bullies y’all letting these schools play with yall too much yo too too much.
