So good to see that Maen didn't bother to make yet another run-of-the-mill Nautiloak. There's hints of Vacheron and Cartier in this piece - as well as their very own Art Deco design elements. Very close to perfection and I'm certainly going to get my name down on their notification newsletter. What a freaking beauty!!
Very nice watch indeed. They maintained the shape of the hands which is very nice too. The only grape for me is the shape of the crown. I hope it's gonna be a round one.
ᴍᴀᴇɴ are really impressive. Love this piece, I have been looking at vintage Zenith Defy over the last few weeks and I see a similarity, so it's not all Nautilus!, at least to my eye. I'm not big on the dial texture and I think the date aperture needs some refinement. The bracelet looks *very* slinky and comfortable though. Unfortunately the brands offerings have been a little small for my chunky paw though. 🤷🏻 Thanks CBTim.
Jesus, they made me buy their diver and now this comes out :) I sold the diver when I figured out I really want their Chrono so I am saving for that one and now I am not sure anymore... Anyway Tim, thanks for covering this brand, they deserve it completely IMHO...
Just pre-ordered the Salmon Dial Just because I grabbed a PRX Auto in Blue. Two well built budget pieces with top notch wrist presence that I feel are great additions to the collection. Thanks for the video, this addiction can get crazy , Damn.
Going out on a limb here, but I could easily imagine the word CASIO on the dial! Similarly the caseback and that strap! No disrespect to the brand; obviously I haven't seen this watch in 'the metal'. Great video as always Tim.
Tim Jurgen Klopp is back and he takes the blame for me buying a MAEN Greenwich which I love! Got it early December on the Tropic strap which is not my cup of tea, then they announced the new watches will come with both Tropic and integrated straps. So I emailed them and the boys most kindly sent me a free integrated strap. Pig to fit but once on it is a wonderful thing that totally makes the watch. Me is very happy. Now then Tim Jurgen Klopp can we have a quote from you about your Champions League chances please?
I really like the look of your straps. Can I, respectfully, suggest producing them in XL size for us who are slightly larger-wristed? I'd love to buy the strap in 18 and 20mm if they were available in something like a 125/85 length. The 18mm, in particular, would look great on a couple of vintage watches I own.
Not in the near future I'm afraid. I have to buy a rather large quantity of every variation and I'd like to focus more on different colors first. But I'll keep your request in mind.
Hi, Tim: interesting watch. I'm not a fan of square watches, but this one is rectangular and that already makes some visual difference. IMHO, the grooved stripes make the dial appealing as well. I like best the salmon version of this watch: with a matching nice brown leather strap it would be quite an attractive timepiece. Thanks for this video. Regards from Chile!
An integrated watch for me and my fellow chunky wrist people! I wonder is it so bad if beyond the prototype they stick with the non see through caseback? I'm no longer sure about the point of those any more with the more generic movements..... Tim you could akways remove/break off the bracelet and wear it on a string as a form of "distressed apocalyptic hipster chic" ...
Did you look into the logistics of offering your straps with quick release pins yet? :) No worries if you haven't, I just have a watch that is perfect for this strap, 2 in fact and I would love to be able to use the strap and support you in the process.
Only the second watch I have seen with the R150 in it. It would be nice to see a long term review to see what they are really like. Watch itself is interesting but I can't get away with sculpted dials.
I have the No Date Salmon dial version that is more like a Bronze Copper in most light. Swiss movement watch of a rendition homage of The Vacheron Constantin mid 1970s Royal 2215 . It comes in four dial color date and no date options. Fantastic integrated bracelet and resemble a Gerald Genta watch of that era. For $600 odd - what a bargain. The finish and attention to detail of the same standard of high end pieces including Cartier. I have an 8.25 inch wrist and no way does it look small on my wrist. Maen (Moon in Dutch) are producing more and they will be available by March. They did send prototypes to reviewers in the last three months. I have been a collector for over 45 years and have owned a 5711 as well as a bi-metal and gold versions of PP's Nautilus . Aesthetically. and stainless steel quality craftsmanship - not much in it and less rugged than an AP Royal Oak. I am thinking of getting No Dates in the three other colors as they are that good! One negative - the No Date seems to have a ghost date position that clicks around 4:00 O'Clock. A Swiss surprise lies underneath the case back in the shape of a Ronda R-150 self-winding movement. This is one of the reasons there is a slender 9.3mm case thickness, and why this is such an elegant piece of wristwear. Running at 28,800vph with a 40-hour power reserve, with 25 jewels and Incabloc shock protection.
I mean yeah.. but if you're after the 70's style there's also the Kingsbury Diplomat for $200 or the Brew Retromatic for $450, or going all in for the PRX powermatic 80 at about the same price as this Maen
That tie is gorgeous, Tim! The whole ensemble is gorgeous: tie + shirt + jacket! Now to the watch. This Maen Manhattan 37 is nice looking, but the one i'm really interested in is Maen Hudson 38. Currently, the Mk4 is in production. Is there any chance to see in flesh the comparison between the Mk3 and Mk4? They claim that the new version has updated water resistance to 30 ATM, ceramic bezel and improved lume - X1 Superluminova. It would be really nice to see the Mk3 and Mk4 side-by-side, especially the lume comparison. Thank You!
Tim, I love your videos but I have to disagree with you on this one. I'm generally not a fan of homage designs so this one didn't work for me. Keep it going and thanks for your honest views.
Can't wait for the next one. If you are looking for suggestions, I would live to get your take on vintage JLC. Specifically the difference between the European versions and the Lecoultre models released for the U.S. Thanks
A beautiful watch but I would’ve loved to see it with either no date or a framed date window. Never really understand why brands don’t frame the date window.
Nice watch. But, it is a risky buy. At least ofr me. If by any chance I need new crystal, something like that would very hard to find and make and very expensive.
We have a 2 year warranty on all our products. And in case something happens with your watch after warranty we will always be able to help and fix the problem.
Absolutely hideous 🤢 Really don't understand the appeal of Genta's (or GG inspired) designs. I'm sure they'll sell well tho as I realize I'm in the minority & it's very on trend . Good luck to them, thank you 👍🏻👍🏻
Gott in Himmel! You can review any watch for any reason you so choose. This is your prerogative, naturally. Although, occasionally, I question your judgment. In music, clothes, and style, in general, you exhibit good taste. How you can elevate the Maen Manhattan 37 to anything more than a cheap pastiche, is beyond me. It's a blatant and vulgar copy of Audemars Piguet and Patek Philippe in the worst sort of way. This artless theft of design elements would not be tolerated-and certainly not be praised-in any other context. Not in music, art, architecture, or industrial design, would so obvious an imitation ever earn respect. The Maen Manhattan (even its name is unoriginal) offers no distinction apart from its mimicry of the originals. Repulsive. As always, to each their own. But given my impression of your taste and sensibilities, I am surprised you find any merit in this watch.
Perhaps you should do some research about the watches from the 60s and 70s. There is more out there than AP and Patek. Vacheron and Zenith for example had similar style watches long before the Royal oak and Nautilus were introduced. ✌🏻
@@maenwatches 1. I'm really interested to see the comparison between Hudson Mk3 and Mk4 made by Tim. Is there any chance? 2. To me, Hudson Mk 4 is a great alternative to the Submariner. Is there any chance to see the great alternative to the Rolex Oyster Perpetual and Omega Aqua Terra made by Maen (simple, yet elegant dress watch with a round dial, with lumed hands + 100 m WR)? It would be awesome.
You forgot about Tim's musical prowess which is also very stylish.....on the other hand(pun intended) however, I totally agree with you on the watch.....tacky.
Tim, had it right the first time. Vacheron vibes. Royal chronometer 2215.
So good to see that Maen didn't bother to make yet another run-of-the-mill Nautiloak. There's hints of Vacheron and Cartier in this piece - as well as their very own Art Deco design elements. I have to say you pulling it out of your pocket randomly was an awesome reveal. haha. Beautiful watch! I can't tell which color dial I like more.
Watch looks absolutely Stunning! Thanks for the video Tim!
Thanks, my pleasure!
Love this channel… A Welcomed departure From the typical watch channel…
Very glad to hear that, thank you!
Very nice watch indeed. They maintained the shape of the hands which is very nice too. The only grape for me is the shape of the crown. I hope it's gonna be a round one.

My pleasure ;-)
Well.. I’m usually quite ready to crap on these micro brands… but this one looks really nice. Great video. Thanks Tim.
I am so glad I didn't get a PRX because this looks so much better IMHO. Also what a coincidence I am wearing my hudson today
Art-deco meets Genta. Very nice!!.
Jesus, they made me buy their diver and now this comes out :) I sold the diver when I figured out I really want their Chrono so I am saving for that one and now I am not sure anymore... Anyway Tim, thanks for covering this brand, they deserve it completely IMHO...
I love their Chrono.
The reverse Panda is... Spectacular!
Great to see you Tim. Thank you! On my 8 inch wrist this watch would disappear. I'd love it in 43-45mm.
Thanks for watching!
Just pre-ordered the Salmon Dial
Just because I grabbed a PRX Auto in Blue. Two well built budget pieces with top notch wrist presence that I feel are great additions to the collection. Thanks for the video, this addiction can get crazy , Damn.
Just bought a Tissot PRX auto aswell and then I saw this watch 😂. Is it good??
That watch is very classy!
It’s so sporty yet the dial makes it so elegant.
Pre-ordered mine today! Salmon dial no date. Can't wait to get it on my wrist!! Thanks for the review!
You're welcome.
Great looking piece , I have the Hudson 42 and that is a pleasure to wear but this is just too small for me .
Another great video Tim 👍🏻
Thanks!
Not many Hudson 42's about, I have one and it's perfect
18mm! Great! I finally have an excuse to buy leather goods from you!
I love the idea of Caseback Tim and 'like a rapper' in the same sentence.
Haha, sometimes I envy rappers because of the freedom to go crazy with stuff ...!
Tim is a man of high integrity!
Going out on a limb here, but I could easily imagine the word CASIO on the dial! Similarly the caseback and that strap! No disrespect to the brand; obviously I haven't seen this watch in 'the metal'. Great video as always Tim.
Thank you!
Great video! Does it wear large or small? Being a squarish watch I womder how it compares to a 37mm round watch.
Thank you! Rather big. I'd say like a 38 mm round watch in the same genre.
Hello I am that elephant, nice to meet you. Thanks to the manufacturer for making long enough bracelet
Sorry, it wasn't meant as an insult. I was just honestly disappointed that I couldn't wear it.
😀 that's fine. Just wanted to make a point there's a need for longer bracelet. No need to apologize.
It looks like that date is going to snap over at exactly midnight in production versions. That’s a great looking watch!
Stunning! I can’t wait to see also the salmon dial!!!

Tim is in love....again!
Great content and good review. Nice if their website actually worked.

@@CasebackWatches Thanks you very much for the response. I really enjoy your videos.
Gives me Patek, AP and Cartier vibes. This is gonna be my next wach! Love the Design and size
great review as usual. Nice watch
3:45 white date wheel so it blends in with the markers. And yeah, it's the most legible.
I agree 100%!

I hope they fix the date change issue. Very nice watch and I think the squarish cases wear bigger so a 37 is a decent size.
Blue dial, squarish/Genta like case with integrated bracelet, this start to be bowring.
LOL. "This is a man with ideas and creativity and a nice watch." They can tell that when you hang it around your neck! You're funny. Thanks.
Nice looking watch.
Wow...this is beautiful. I wish they made it in a larger size for my fat 19cm wrists!!

Yes, I will ask the manufacturer if they can do it with one of the next batches.
@@CasebackWatches Thank you so much! I'm excited to find out if it's possible!
Very cool watch.
Lovely watch, I wish it didn't have a date. If a watch really must have a date, then it should be at 6 o'clock to balance the watch.
There's a vintage soviet model very similar to that, possibly Raketa.

Night!
I like the date in white, if it was black or blue it would look like one of the indices was missing and unbalance the dial
Beautiful watch
All-occasion piece...nice!
Very nice. Could be a potential casual wear watch. Very rare to see a watch in this range draw me in.
I mean yeah.. but if you're after the 70's style there's also the Kingsbury Diplomat for $200 or the Brew Retromatic for $450, or going all in for the PRX powermatic 80 at about the same price as this Maen
Framed date window, screw down crown and 100m wr and it would be pretty flawless.
Damn. I want to see that watch with a round crown.

Beautiful looking watch, just too small for my liking. However, it does show that some microbrands are really delivering some excellent watches.

Peter Sagan talk about watches ?
Django!
It's nice. Other than integrated bracelet and butterfly clasp making it unwearable. If I'm buying a homage I'm spending a lot less. Nah.
Nah, I'll take the DS1Milano over it. This thing looks nice but too square for my taste.
