A cutie mark crusader episode that shows Diamond Tiara's family, the reason why she's a jerk, her getting along with the crusaders, musical, and the crusaders getting their cutie marks? *MIND BLOWN*
What’s mind blowing to me is that they managed to do all that without the episode feeling rushed. At its worst, the writing in this show is on the meh side of mediocre, but at its best it’s goddamn amazing.
How fitting that the CMC's marks are their club's crest. This might just be me...but all of them getting the same mark, on the same day MUST be a sign of close friendship.
Meaning that no matter what, they're always gonna be Crusaders
The mane 6 got theirs at the same time too, and fitting into the theme of the CMC helping others realize their purpose in life (aka cutie marks) It's actually thanks to them the 6 even learned of their connection in Cutie Mark Chronicles.

The concepts of silver turning on diamond, finding out why diamond was a bully and the cmc getting there marks, each could have been there own ep. I would never have guessed we would get all three at the same time!
You know I just realized something. If you think about it, Diamond Tiara had a similar issue as Trouble Shoes. Both didn't know the real meaning behind their own cutie marks until the CMC helped them. Kind of makes you wonder why most pony analysts haven't brought that up yet. at least, not any that i know of.
I realized something after looking at the CMC's marks for a bit that ties them even more to the main 6, or 3 of them at least. It's in the middle layer of the marks. In the background you have the CMC shield, then the silhouette of something related to their "sisters", a wing on Scoots' for RD, an Apple on AB's for AJ, and a star on Sweetie's for Rarity. Then something in the foreground that seems to work for the CMC themselves. An 8th note for Sweetie, a Heart for AB (she always seemed kinda like the heart of the group a lot), and a lightning bolt for our speedy Scootaloo.
it was also touching when a applejack said "if mom and dad were here , they would be so proud of you"
AHHH! It finally happened! They finally got their cutie marks!!! I absolutely LOVE them! They aren't at all what I expected! Well...kinda. My theory was Sweetie Belle's was gonna have something to do with music, she has a star with a musical note in the center of her cutie mark. Hers was the most accurate. And we got some character redemption for the FOURTH TIME!!!

I was honestly SHOCKED at this episode. And that scene with Applejack, AMAZING! She actually mentioned her parents! I wonder what that means...it could mean their parents are dead, but it could also mean they're just really busy in another city like Fillydelphia or Baltimare, but I wanna lean towards their death. This episode was just...I can't even....I'm speechless now....this could mean a lot for the CMC in the future, I can't wait to see what the final 8 episodes have to offer

While it would sound nice that they were alive, I feel it works better that they're not. Children who grow up without parents and feel the pain because of it need someone to look up to and Applejack and her family are the perfect role models for that.

OMG!!!!! How can I be so happy and sad all at the same time?!!!!! Wow, the CMC came such a long way!!!! A new era has begun!!!!
Looking back, if MLP had ended at season three, we wouldn't have gotten such an amazing episode. This is still one of the few episodes that made me happy cry along with Castle Sweet Castle and Magical Mystery Cure. The Perfect Pear was the only episode I couldn't cry about because I was just enjoying it so much.
I love bronies.... if there's any type of guy that will show you true emotion and honesty its bronies, Forget the minor group that give bronies their bad name, Bronies are awesome :)
I just realized... In a sense, we have 2 teams in Equestia now- the Mane 6 and the Crusaders. The Mane 6 fix external problems, and the CMC fix internal problems.

+TheUnluckyJirachi Well I think you are right there. Also there are some similarities to the Mane 6 using their Elements of Harmony for the first time and getting lifted off the ground. Then blacking out after it was over with. Then picking themselves back up off the ground. Wondering what in the world just happened to them. Just like when the CMC got surrounded with magic and getting lifted off the ground. Then blacking out after it was over with. Picking themselves up off the ground. Wondering out loud what just happened to them. I am thinking the Tree of Harmony might have been connecting them to the map inside the Friendship Castle. That is probably why they got surrounded by the magic glow. Then again I could be wrong with my theory.
We will find out if the CMC ever get called by the map in a future episode

I like how Luna got to see the pic with how she mentored them in their dreams.
They did soooo much in this episode. We got to see DT's mother. Lots of songs, CMC got their cutie marks (of course on the 5th anniversary). They even mentioned Apple's parents. Another anniversary that Hasbro gives us what we want. First with the 100th episode and now with 5th anniversary. Wow. This was probably one of my favorite episodes, if not my favorite. Another great reaction as usual. You called it in the middle of the episode though. When I first watched it, I didn't see it coming. I was just too focused on DT's transformation and hoping it wasn't a dream or something crazy like that. I'm also glad we got to see more little pip and even button mash. Just soooo much happened. Now, I'm going to have to watch the episode that got leaked and see if they changed the beginning to show the CMC with their cutie marks. I didn't even pay attention when I first watched it.
This episode is the best of the series, and I doubt any will ever top it.
hell yeah!!! finally, good job on the episode even when they had to pace it to a singing episode it was very good, diamond tiara reformed confronting her mother, but also we saw a fragment of the apple family mentioning the parents and seeing them crying, and it answered some questions we all had for a very long time.
Also, I think Diamond made the right choice. You have to face the darkness before light can take over.
Hmm, the idea of a Cutie Mark representing the individual Pony is something that's been seen throughout the series. But this is, to my knowledge, a whole new idea. That the Cutie Mark process not only understands the individual Pony, but somehow has some amount of insight into the future as the Cutie Marks here are so closely blended with, as you pointed out, elements from each Crusader plus something that represents themselves so that the Marks are still separate.
Intriguing.
And yeah... it's a touching episode, especially as we've been watching them grow and develop from the beginning. To see them finally reach the end.... Is nice.
So I guess it makes sense though that Diamond Tiara is reformed, she can't bully and tease them as "blank flanks" any more.
Great episode! While I am glad that Diamond Tiara got redeemed in the end, I believe the fandom is going to miss their favorite little spoiled bully.
And the Crusaders finally achieved their dream! And their journey is not over. It's only a new beginning :)

Best. Musical Number. EVAH! Still can't leave it alone! Can't think of a better way to celebrate their 5th anniversary.
So many things in this episode.
First, yeah. Hate politics too, but I'll say this. Diamond Tiara, you ain't Donald Trump (and thank god, because I wouldn't be able to stomach your redemption if you were). But that's something we love about MLP: We think that we got the episode figured out at the beginning, and then it hits us with a curve ball.
And another thing I love about MLP: Status Quo shaking. It has been exactly five years since the show started. And unlike other shows, during these five years things HAPPENED (and they stuck).
Not only this episode made Diamond Tiara sympathetic, but it also clarified something: What her special talent is. She says that it's getting people to do what she wants. I say that she has a bright future as a contractor (calling people and getting stuff done). I never thought they'd actually clarify that.
And boy was it a great payoff. It's pretty much like Magical Mystery Cure (thankfully, not as controversial). If you're still looking for the word, it's a musical episode. The best part is that there was no preview, at all (so even I was going in fully blind). And boy was it great. I'm curious to see if there will be more interactions with the new Diamond Tiara, or if she will be forgotten since the CMC don't have their 'antagonist' anymore.
And, yes. I'm crying liquid pride as well. Just like back in Magical Mystery Cure.

Great reaction, but more importantly, can I just say that I absolutely love when you pause the video if you have something long to say. That way, you don't miss important details about the plot and then complain about them later.

But anyway I do have a personal rule that I'm always going to allow myself to enjoy the show and not ruin it for myself. This is often why I don't say or do anything when during a really good song or a really cool moment in the show.

Diamond tiara was the one who changed the cmcs destiny. If they didn't becomes friend they would have gotten cutie marks shown in season 1 episode 18. However without diamond bulling applebloom they would have never met and never turned the tables. So the problem and solution was always in front of them

This series was always good, since we felt identified with the characters. and this chapter makes no exception

Hello! First I would like to say great reaction to a great ep. This ep was an absolutely amazing way to celebrate the filth birthday of FIM. I really mean that everything from the songs (lots of songs) to Diamond Tiara being not a total jerk off!! LOL and of course the obvious thing of THE CMC GOT THEIR CUTI MARKS.
The only thing I could complain about was the pacing was a bit fast, or rushed, but then again they had a lot to get through LOL!
I personally really like the way they did it, like they all had the same one but the each where personalized for them like Applebloom has an apple and so forth.
And i loved how the CMC cared about Diamond not having any friends I thought that was really sweet, in fact this whole eo was heartwarming.
I am personally really really happy that they got their cuti marks, I was getting a bit tired of these eps so I am glad they can move on.
Also with how much music that was in this it almost sounded like a musical at times, and i LOVED that.
Oh and one more thing, maybe it was just me but this reminded me a lot of Magical Misery Cure, with the fast pacing and tons of music and the show altering change.
Well i guess that is about all i can say, and as always I look forward to your next video.
Also I just have to say it really feels like this show is wrapping itself up really nicely, with this, Rarity got her boutique, RD is pretty much a Wonderbolt, and with some of the staff moving on, it is looking like that 2017 movie might be it (at least 'till gen 5), although i kind of hope it is in a way. i mean I love this show but i would rather it end with all the characters achieving their goal then end with a huge epic movie!! but I digress.

This episode was a little rushed but I think they managed to do everything they set out to do so good for them!
Yeah I really like their Cutie Marks in short it means they truly are the CMC and Friends forever! I'm so happy for them. I'm probably going to do a Focus on video about that. Hugh unfortunately I've really fallen behind on my videos...So I might need to do some of those first...
Anyway I thought it was really nice how they made us feel bad for Diamond Tiara but did so in a genuine way that a lot of people could probably understand.
This episode kind of does remind me of Magical Mystery cure as well. When they moment happens with all the glowing and magically lightning I almost thought they were going to turn into alicorns. lol In some ways that would've been appropriate since I think they've created something special that probably doesn't happen all that often.
I haven't heard a decent musical in so long that I've forgotten what they sound like! lol But I definitely would like to see musicals come back and this episode did it very well because in short the songs supported the story very well.
Honestly I don't think this show is going anywhere since it seems to me the MLP staff are setting in for the long haul but it could be possible that they are wrapping up the series. But then again these things aren't the end they're just the start of something new. It took the CMC 5 seasons to learn what their destiny was maybe it will take 5 more to accomplish it. However their mission isn't one that in a way will never end, because they will always be Cutie Mark Crusaders. Sniff I'm so happy for them. lol

Although, there are an equal number of fans praising it as well, so I can also see why the hate wouldn't be noticed as much.

Umm sorry but no I was not "am supposed to feel for her" I was listening to the song which was quiet sad. I was not rolling my eyes to Diamond Tiara's sorrow. I can sort of identify with her sorrow of wanting to be something but not being able to.
Anyway I'm glad that they showed this side of Diamond Tiara and that the CMC were able to help her to ultimately go down the right path. It's just so touching!

I think how they gave the CMC their Cutie Marks and the new mission they've given them is so awesome. They finally got their Cutie Mark when they start thinking about others instead of themselves, that's so awesome! I wonder if this means the CMC and the Mane 6 will be working together more often.

I have to admit, I didn't see that coming too, and its still very new after having more than 4 seasons just portraiying her as a flat, one-dimensional evil bully.
Isn't it the most wonderous thing she of all got to be the first one to compliment the CMCs on their cutie marks?
Anyway I agree, it is nice they added this dimension to her. I had the incredible luck to once actually befriend one of the people who bullied me and it was a super popular hunk. Turned out he was just as vulnerable as Diamond when he was alone. One day I found him secretly crying in a bathroom during a party after a girl dumped him and after successfully comforting him, he declared me his brother under tears (which he still tried to hide under his sunglasses, lol). *sniff* :)
Yeah, many people know this feeling of wanting to be something they are not able to. I had this feeling also, but nowadays I am pretty cool with who I am. I just need more sports in my life... oh dear. Haha. :)
Oh yeah you are right, this new mission is really awesome and opening up so many possibilities for their future. And the idea they could work together with the mane 6 is great! Hope that will happen.
The ending with all of their sisters showing their pride was so touching.

See on one hand this season is all about cutiemark magic, the songsvwere cutiemark related, this HAD to happen, here, now.. said in my Patric Stewart voice. but on the otherhad they could have done what they did in Bloom and Gloom or Flight to the finish, faked us out and saved this for the series finally. What are the names of the books in the background?
The Elements of Harmony and the Journal of the Two Sisters. They are both guide books that contain information about the episodes etc. They are both very well made and do contain some interesting information. Certainly has been helpful...was that episode in season 4 or 6 ? :)
Episode was in s5 and I do own the elements of harmony v1. Apparently there is a vol 2 for it that I want lol. I am also dying to own journal of the two sisters! I really want to know about their past like before nightmare moon. That was very helpful thank you!!
