I was randomly thinking, what TFL does really well is having two people doing a review or adventure. They just pull it off so well. The conversation, banter and friendliness reflects really well on the culture at TFL. It doesn't seem to matter who the duo are, but Jen and Mary have done a few together and do this brilliantly.
I have been advocating for months to put these 2 on a car adventure show. Hire some writers and let them improve. With the end of Grand tour and nothing new from Car trek, TH-cam could use some new car series stuff.
Love this! I’m 18 and daily drive a 1966 mustang and can’t agree with you more. I don’t drive my car because it’s the most comfortable or reliable. I drive it for the thrill. Whether it’s from the rumble of its small block V8, feeling the old suspension leaning as I take on a corner, or listening to classic 50s/60s hits while driving, nothing brings me more joy than driving this car. Great video and keep up this kind of content!
"You wont find Apple Car play, wireless charging pads or usb ports" Good, I just want to drive and get where I'm going whilst enjoying a sweet car 🤷♂️
Thank you ladies! That was a fun trip! I miss root beer floats and now look forward to my next trip home to get one. Admittedly not going to be in such a cook car as that one. Jen asked Mary if she could consider doing a road trip in such a car. A friend and I drove from Wilkes Barre, PA to New Orleans and back in a 68 Camaro when we were in college. A fun trip and definitely an adventure. Incidentally back in the day, a passenger side mirror was an optional extra you could buy, but no one bothered with seatbelts in the back. Loved the singing too! ❤
Power brakes were an option - right there with power steering - lol. At least with my 67 RS Camaro Convt. The only thing power was the split glass power top! :)
@@JerryCollins101 Sweet or should I say "Cool"! Funny how the options were laid out on them. My favorite option was on my 72 El Camino & 77 Suburban (tilt wheel & both power steering & power brakes).....heat was nice but that's what more clothes and blankets are for.
Car reviews are one thing, but seeing two genuinely enjoyable people driving one and enjoying the hell out of it as people would have done when it was new is another. This was a joy to watch 😎👍
Perfection! The personalities and chemistry in this video perfectly edited to keep it moving. Jenn did a wonderful job keeping the video on script with telling us all the ins and outs of the car and its history. Love the stories of the bands and musicians she had on her bedroom walls as a teenager. Definitely one of my all time favorite changes TFL has made to the channel in recently. On a side note, is it just me or have we not heard from Nathan in awhile?
When I see a thumbnail with Mary and Jen pop up, I tell my husband my besties just posted a new video! Keep up the great work, we are fans of classics and EVs!
Good stuff. Don’t listen to the handful of naysayers out there. This is a great counterbalance to the Tommy/Chase vids. Besides the fact that it’s a good business move, lots of different angles is always useful and entertaining. Keep it up.
I enjoyed this review very much. As a owner of a 67 mustang coupe, I totally agree with everything they said. It is just fun to drive. Its not that fast it doesn't handle like its on rails it just goes. It is simple to work on, doesn't cost a lot to own and maintain (once you get all the rust fixed) it is just a joy to have. I have had mustangs my whole life I'm now 71 years old and I still like them. Another thing is they are fully adjustable to be what ever you want, except maybe luxurious. Fast sure, handling yup, look good got it. What else can you ask for in a classic car? Make it your way and drive it.
I was just thinking the CS was taking up barn space, then Jen & Mary made one of your best vids with it! 😅 Jen knows good ol' music! Wonder if she dares to spin some early Yes or Genesis?
great video ladies...Jenn..I am very impressed with your classic car knowledge...it is nice to see the younger generations get to appreciate the cars of OUR days!!!
Get it in the 4 speed manual that small block will wake up, I would love a 60s Mustang personally I have owned a couple retro modern convertible mustangs with the 4.6 and just loved driving them around and flying through the corners.
This sample may be showing its age cause I remember my sister had a '65 with the same engine and it was pretty quick. She went from a Pontiac Tempest to this and the difference was day and night.
Great episode! Would love to own a classic Mustang one day. Never really grew out of the phase decorating my house with everything Mustang :). Always love supporting female car reviewers and enthusiasts, keep it up!
My 68 cougar which is the Mercury version of the mustang had disc brakes on the front and AC and also had sequential turn signals and hidden headlights. I still have a 1984 Mustang GT convertible with a 2.3 turbo which was my dream car but the cougar was way better equipped than the mustangs of the 60s so I don't know why they aren't more popular
Good stuff here - love it and it brings back the memories!!! 2 friends out in a classic ride being silly and having fun! Singing in key - what a concept! Cant wait to see more being this is the Classic page!
I just had a thought, the distance between the first Mustangs and now is roughly equal to the very first automobiles to the introduction of the Mustang. Feeling old now.
I've always been a fan of the 60's mustangs but a little over 30 years ago I saw a I believe a 67 mustang in person and I remember the color too it was a lite yellow and I was working at a garage that's sadly no longer in business when I saw it and I remember that we had to replace the fuel pump on it and I also remember going to auto parts store to get one and that's the day I really fell in love with mustangs and 60's cars in general my 3 favorite cars and I would love to own in a 67 mustang, a 67 to 69 camaro and of course the 57 chevy bel air.
That was a fun ride along! I would love to know the percentage of these that were sold to women when they were new, it’s a high number I’m sure. These were cheap and everywhere as used cars late 70s early 80s and were the number one car Driven by girls in the high school parking lot. Driven year-round in Colorado with sandbags in the trunk through the winter. It’s nice to hear the opinions and take of two young women born a couple decades after the car was produced. Thanks for the video…. :)
There was a different version for their market in Colorado called the High Country. Had a '66 Mustang when I was 23. 4 barrel A code 289. 4 speed manual. 225HP though mine had the engine rebuilt. A lot of fun. Tin-y sound; no insulation to speak of. Parts are still cheap & plentiful, huge aftermarket following for someone looking for their 1st classic car. I recall buying a new aftermarket chrome bumper for $75US. New carpet, seat belts & other small parts - all shipped to my door in Canada at very reasonable prices. That was 30 years ago. Yet, with over 1 million sold for model years 64 1/2 to 66 and being a simple platform, you will find no other classic with parts so plentiful.
Great new approach to automobile videos. I don't know if you invented the info-filled fun banter session, but TFL is perfecting it. I had a 1968 Ford F100, 3-on-the-tree, no PS or PB = Loved it. Keep it up!!
I’m a retired auto tech, and the mustang was a great looking car but wow what a piece of crap to work on and it was like trying to drive a camel down the road.😊you girls did an awesome job reviewing it should try and stop after you heated these brakes up.
You missed the entire point. This is a 56 yr old car. She said it was slow, noisy, didn't ride well, and they never even got it to 60 MPH. What they did do is ride in a time machine. It took them to what they imagined 1968 was like and they enjoyed every minute of it. They laughed. They sang. They had fun. Those are, by far, the best attributes a classic car has to offer.
It's a toy by comparison with modern cars. No matter what fans say the owner has to put up with a lot of inconveniences. However, a nice restomod might pull the right string of the soul, and maybe allow to use it daily, unless something about the engine is original, hence breaking constantly.
The 60's. An interesting battle between the US muscle cars and say the Jaguar Etype. I'll admitI'll go for the Jag. Or the MGB as a lower-cost alternative. I'll admit I soent my first 3 years olf driving using the family 1972 MGB GT so I may be baised.
Yes they’re just not worth the ridiculous prices that people are asking for them now. Like 90s Japanese imports and early 2000s beaters. Oh and Tjs and Ljs
Classic mustangs are great because they were supposed to be sporty looking family cars that were pretty affordable. Then lile everyone else they got a chip on their shoulder and tried turning them into sports cars and they got expensive and worse.
Ford Mustang is a sporty body on a 1964-69 Falcon. Any upgrades a Mustang can do, so can the Falcon. What made the Mustang special was Shelby race upgrades. What does hot rodders do? Engine modifications, brake upgrades, stiffen body with internal roll cage, sway bars. Wider tires and bigger rims to fit bigger brakes. Stock 64-70 Mustang is nothing special. Other than you can still buy the body. It's now a kit car. Build it to your imagination & financial capabilities.
Great video. I knew they'd never said anything about getting rid of that car. I hope this video does well so maybe you guys can have more adventures in it. I used to have a 66 and my dad had a 65 so this is my jam. Can you dig it? Lol Thanks guys. I love this car
Luv the first gen-6-4/5/6, but, they cultural phenomenon not a great car. Penny pinching accounts seriously compromised the structural build, but give me a 2+2 with the Hypo and I would be in heaven.
Both ladies are seats are way too far back. Move them forward girls Driver can hardly tough the brake pedal and added benefit, there would be rear seat leg room!
Agreed, also impressed. Wouldn’t be surprised if one or both of these ladies had some voice training in their past. More a cappella form Jen and Mary please!
Rebodied Falcon. Later, rebodied Pinto. Then a rebodied Fairmont. It was a good formula. Now that it’s on its own platform, they can’t sell enough to keep it in production. It’s supposed to be a fun and stylish cheap car for young people just starting out on their careers, not a supercar.
Great video! GT/CS came back in 1987 (limited models), 2007, and almost every model year after have been produced since then, except 2010 and 2015. Again great video!
Maybe best episode at TFL history! Thanks ladies and hopefully we see more of you two and classic cars!❤

These two are so entertaining. They should just have one episode a week with these two driving something interesting.
289 and 302 v8's and the 300 straight 6.....the best engines Ford ever built

I had a '66 and a '69. The brakes were as follows: Stand on the brake and car says "you want something?"
Power brakes were an option - right there with power steering - lol. At least with my 67 RS Camaro Convt. The only thing power was the split glass power top! :)
