My grandparents live in Indy and said it’s closed because of bed bugs I use to go to that water park all the time when I was younger crazy how much it’s changed

Lilly XD I understand its really sad when somewhere you had amazing memories gets closed and destroyed like this, it’s actually now completely demolished... but it’s JUST a place, those memories are still there and they’re still good memories. I don’t understand crying over it, just because the place is destroyed doesn’t mean the memories are.

They mentioned something about an arcade used to be there in that separated room so I presume when they sold the arcade equipment they had to get rid of the tickets, so someone got overly happy and painted the water park with them 😂

I’ve seen some cool urbex places but this place is amazing!!! Probably the coolest place I’ve ever seen! It’s a shame people destroyed it cause imagine seeing this place in mint condition 😱 all the beds still made, windows not smashed!? It’s too bad vandals and scrappers don’t appreciate places like true explores do

There's an abandoned hotel I've been to in West Virginia. The rooms themselves are completely destroyed and being lived in but there was a restaurant and gas station there as well with all the tabels set with dishes and the shelves of the gas station were stocked with food.

Kurczak Kasia i found this place by searching “hotel and indoor waterpark closed down” it comes up with what this place is called (i found it and im in the uk) i just clicked the name of the place and it said permanently and in the news it said it was knocked down in september 2018 time

Actually, I went here when it was still in operation, and the whole place was disgusting and smelled of chlorine.
I've also been there and confirm...it was filthy and the pool was freezing. I remember like a layer of grimey goo covering some of the surfaces. And the hotel was incredibly outdated. I don't think anyone was surprised when it closed.

This place apparently started going down hill for years until the finally decided to close the doors for good. guests complaining of no hot water, mold smell, peeling wallpaper, and I think they used to have a not-so-family-friendly restaurant inside the hotel too with a kids water park there, how strange lol

Musicman The FAM if the arcade machines still worked, I would see if I could find the keys to open them. Then I would bring a battery and inverter to power on the machines to have fun with unlimited credits! And then end off by trying to overfill the ticket counting machine.

So many memories here. My cousins would come into town and we’d stay a night here and just swim for hours. So sad to see the state it’s in now.
By the way, this hotel closed on November 20, 2017 due to a bunch of health code violations, bad reviews, bad servicing, mold infestation, and a bunch of other bad stuff and that hotel was rated only 2.5 stars and then the whole hotel got demolished in December of 2018

" As we walk to our room we noticed water damage and structural damage everywhere. When we open our room the immediate smell of mold and mildew hit me in the face. The sheets that I can only assume used to be white were disgusting and riddled with stains and dirt. The bathroom was in equally bad shape. The carpet had delightful mystery stains all over it. And the ceiling appeared to have some kind of mildew or mold. Additional mold was found on the walls of the bathroom. I opened up the curtains of the window in order to brighten up the room and get a better view but was unfortunately met by the lovely view of yet another damaged wall in a dark hallway. There was no way we were going to spend a night in these conditions for any amount of money not to mention the overcharged amount that we received."

I have never been there, I have no idea where it is, I'm not even a resident of the area where it is located and even I'm sad to see a place like that abandoned. It seemed like such a nice and fun place to go to. I would have liked to have seen it while it was still active. And then to see it vandalized and trashed by looters is enough to make me cry.
I just remembered this was the very firts waterpark i ever went. Its heart braking to see what has happened to such a fun place.

I love waterparks, so seeing abandoned ones always makes me sad. Be careful though man, those old slides don't look that safe. Parts are missing, other parts have dropped off. Sad how badly those scrappers trashed that hotel as well. It looked like it was in OK condition before they went through and ruined the place. Now if anyone wanted to remodel it, it will be nearly impossible. [I just found some reviews of the place online. It seemed like it was quite popular 10 years ago, but had a heap of problems in the last couple of years before it closed]
+angelina angel . I think the place just got quite old and run down and needed refurbishing. The owners didn't have the money, so fewer people were visiting. As the money issues and lack of maintenance started to accumulate so did complaints online from guests about how it was run down and dirty. Apparently there were security problems as well with lots of cars getting broken into. With so many bad reviews and the water park being closed (not enough money to refurbish it), people just stopped staying there and it closed. It seems it was almost deserted in the last year or so that it was open and hardly anyone stayed there. Kind of sad to see these once thriving businesses close, but I guess that happens all over the world.
The switch to what it use to be to what it is now feels extremely depressing.

This hotel has been closed since at least 2014 or 2015. They shut down the water park because of ecoli in the water. The hotel had to shutdown because of bed bugs. There was a restaurant that stayed open called Tilted but they recently moved out the building and now it is completely torn down. Such a cool video!! Thanks so much for posting, I use to have all my birthday parties here when I was younger. rip holiday inn

A long time ago it was a Holiday Inn with a waterpark, but eventually became independent from Holiday Inn. They renamed the hotel to the same name as the waterpark. I think it all went downhill after it lost the Holiday Inn association.

There's something about closed water parks that make me feel depressed. Like seriously the opening scene to spy kids 3 was too sad for me

There's an open one of these in Erie, Pennsylvania called Splash Lagoon. You should go there
I went there a few times. Surprised it's still open being that the indoor waterpark fad has faded and it wasn't exactly in great shape when I was there in elementary school. However I'll admit I may be conflating it with the infamous Maui Sands which I was at more recently, that has since been busted as a money laundering operation for real estate goons and humiliated on Hotel Impossible and subsequantly shut down.
It’s funny how in every abandoned place, there are things in the strangest places with an insane quantity 😂
Like I know there used to be an arcade upstairs, but the fact that thousands of tickets are all hanging down from the railings raises some questions 👀
