I didn't care for him, but his entrance was so good! The nonchalant attitude, the mask hiding his emotion and what he's thinking. The fact he knows who you are and what you're about to do and that you're gonna survive it. Man's awesome!

Basically, imaginary power is the "magic" in this universe. Herta does mathematics with it, Silverwolf knows how to read its coding and thus can perform "Aether Hacking" (literally editing reality), and the others… well depending on their powers they can manipulate different amounts of said imaginary energy.
We see this to an extent with all playable characters - their "summoning weapons from thin air" is part of this power. It is for the same reason that Ratio can summon a chessboard and his book, as to how he’s sitting, he’s probably creating a chair literally from air.
