Qiqi was never meta in abyss, she only was top tier because on 1.0 most of the players challenge still was on overworld and his exploration. She started to decay until people noticed the existence of energy recharge and how valuable it is.
Diluc mains are either the meanest person known to mankind or the literal nicest person ever. I'm a newer player and hadn't yet unlocked Dragonspine statue. A Diluc main joined and helped through Dragonspine. They also had Raiden Shogun who is my personal favorite character. Finding Diluc mains brings me so much joy as a Kaeya main

Especially with gravestone and good artifacts, and good supports(c6 kaeya)

When abyss floors are tailored to the newer characters, that does effectively make Diluc worse. He got better than he already was with the addition of burgeon, but even so 9*ing with him only got harder over the years
I mean if you compare them then he is in fact "bad" meta wise. You can put the same amount of investment in Hutao and Diluc, and get different results. Heck even Keqing and Tighnari, same standard characters highly outperformed him. He needs a buff, a buff only for him and not other pyro characters.

Bennett and Xiangling were launch units with higher multipliers... He was always undertuned, people just didn't build proper supports so Diluc's straightforward approach made him seem strong

Diluc was the first 5* character I got during Zhongli's banner in 1.5. I was new to the game that time and my man literally carried my team till Ar55 until I got Zhongli in 2.2. I still use Diluc a lot during quests and abyss, maxed his talents, went through hell in crimson domain, saved my welkin crystals and bought his new skin. He's my best character ever, my beloved husbando, my comfort character, my world 😌❤️
And here I am still switching between Yoimiya and Diluc because maann, my bro Diluc especially with his new skin is FFIIRREE! Loves his gameplay too. Just full of drip!

And I still stand with Diluc outdamage Xiao plunge, mine easily deal 250-300k WITHOUT Furina

Just reading his story as I get his friendship up is interesting (I have him at 5) and I’ve learned that he used to be cavalry captain before kaeya, kaeya and diluc are siblings due to dilucs father adopting kaeya, they used to be two peas in a pod and kaeya found their fathers death interesting (they both watched it happen) and duelled that same night and lost their closeness that night and kaeya hasn’t called diluc brother since.
Also fun Diluc fact: He is banned from entering Snezhnaya because he killed so many Fatui members and encampments. He made such a mess of everything that when he finally decided to go back to Mondstadt the government was like “Good. Now STAY OUT.” (Or something like that… but that’s the gist of it.)

He’s still amazing. He’s a bit more clunky than most of the modern dps characters and his uptimes/cooldowns can be a bit annoying, but his damage is still solid and comparable to other pyro carries with just a tiny bit more investment.
That goes for any character ever though. My rosaria can outdamage Ayaka when she is heavily invested into and Ayaka not. That's not how comparing goes. You have to look at similar investment. If you have the exact same builds and stats on them Xiangling, Hu Tao and Yoimia will outperform him in damage, ease of use and rotations. Not to say he is bad or ot viable but you can't give one hyper investment and then say they beat the others just because they aren't invested In, anyone can do that.

Unlike diluc in the abyss now
He’s still amazing. He’s a bit more clunky than most of the modern dps characters and his uptimes/cooldowns can be a bit annoying, but his damage is still solid and comparable to other pyro carries with just a tiny bit more investment.
My diluc has no problem with uptimes and CDs,
That goes for any character ever though.
My rosaria can outdamage Ayaka when she is heavily invested into and Ayaka not.
That's not how comparing goes.
You have to look at similar investment.
If you have the exact same builds and stats on them Xiangling, Hu Tao and Yoimia will outperform him in damage, ease of use and rotations.
Not to say he is bad or ot viable but you can't give one hyper investment and then say they beat the others just because they aren't invested In, anyone can do that.
Diluc is king of Genshin Impact back in 2020 but still not forgotten in 2023 lol.😇
