I've only had a few experiences with the astral and I firmly believe that everyone will have a completely different experience altogether should they ever encounter it. It's likely that the astral realm projects an image that'll suit it's visitor and that it could be a blank slate when not in use. I think it's perhaps the most fascinating subject. Even what could lie beyond the astral is another interesting topic too! This was a really awesome video discussion! 🤘🍎🐍
So I love guided meditations as well as just a free flow non-guided meditation journey. I also remember my dreams almost every night and have had a few of them weirdly predict the future. But I have experienced something very different on a couple occasions where I actually left my physical body and I have been trying to figure out how to do it again. When I was a teenager I slept on the top bunkbed and I had orange christmas lights on my ceiling above me so everything was illuminated. I remember I was very thirsty and reluctantly decided to get up for some water. I didnt like walking about the house at night alone because it was haunted and I was creeped out by that at the time. When I sat up and went to climb down off the top bunk, to my surprise I softly floated down through the air! I looked around my room and everything was as it should be and I felt as if I were awake and alert. I got excited to explore and reached for the doorknob to exit my room when I was suddenly startled by this entity of a crow (weird, I know) that was a round black blur of flapping wings and claw. It flapped frantically in my freakin face cawing loudly. I could even feel the feathers on my face and bones in its wings as it hit me. I flailed my arms in a panic and popped right back into my body. I sat up in bed, my heart pounding and the room was that vacuum, pin drop, dead silence. I looked around and everything in my room was exactly as it was. The same rumpled dirty shirt laying in the exact same way on the floor, it felt nothing like a dream. I think whatever that was might have wanted to prevent me from exploring my own creepy haunted house? I can only speculate. It didnt feel negative, but it did scare the crap out of me at the time as I think it intended to. I think the key is to slip into that twilight phase where you enter sleep paralysis but keep your mind aware enough to try to sit up or roll out of your body. I almost did it again last year but weirdly the sound of my own snoring scared me back into my body. 😅I didnt know it was coming from me as I was starting to sit up and I thought it was the sound of something else breathing in the room and I let my imagination get the best of me. Next time, no fear. Any tips on how to leave the body in that fashion to travel the astral?
Loveliest Ivy, I just want to say thank you. Because you opened my eyes. The interview on Norse Witch channel you explained chaos magic so good that my brain 🤯...I realized what I am into and it gave me such a great liberating and releasing feeling of happines. At the 15th minute I got my eyes wide open and had my big AHA moment. Great channel and finest educational craft you share. My dearest apprecitation.
Yes, this was a great video - I've been practicing astral travel and dreamwork for years, and it's still def a challenge - especially when life is really busy and overwhelming - which lol with two lil ones and work, home, spiritual practice, trying to keep up with creating content on YT and I, and just life - it generally is most of the time 😂. But it's the long game for sure. I found it a lot easier to practice these as a child, accidentally and wilfully, and it often happened, but def as an adult it is much more challenging and exhausting too. I need more sleep on following days. What you discuss regarding the layers really resonates for me also - certainly in terms of where you go (upper, middle or lower world) and how (as in the form or lack thereof you inhabit), as well as layers of depths and experiences; sometimes it's visceral and very raw feeling, and other times extremely vivid in a visual way. I also often find in the liminal hypnogogic state I experience a lot of clairaudience as well, which can be distracting and disturbing, but occasionally some important or significant messages do come through. I think it's a case of practicing astral work when you can, but also I think people can get easily fixated on it or spend too much time in the astral as well. Def a balance. Great talk Ivy and Bente 😊Xx
this may be my favorite video with the Norse Witch! -thank you both for taking the time to tackle such a difficult subject. i used to be able to Dream and Astral until i had to begin taking medications. (and i know that Astral Travel is not necessarily connected to Sleep, but i DO think it is connected with the Ability to Dream.) i posted a question below asking ppl, so i don't know what others may yet say. i can still do some meditation, daydreaming, and imagination, but with limited ability. also energy work is difficult, which is why i rely on so many candles. So hey Ivy, anything in your Psycho-Pharmacological Studies mention this? -sorry for double-dipping in this post, but this topic has driven me nuts for years....
I replied to your other comment but to add to that... I wonder if your medication is inhibiting certain brain wave states? Some medications can do that, and it would make sense that you're unable to go deeper with your visualizations. That sounds so incredibly frustrating!!
I know I leave a lot of messages! But thanks again. I loved this video and I hope my comments help your algorithms. This one deserves some $$$$ . Hopefully one day I can just hand it out like candy on Halloween. Thanks again lovely ladies.
Thankyou for a great video Michael Raduga has a great book called The Phase which details another non-meditation method for astral/obe besides lucid dreaming which he calls the indirect method. This is also what I believe Robert Monroe was hinting at in his third book also
I loved getting to hear you guys together!!! Before I started meditation I ONLY went into the astral through lucid dreaming, and it definitely feels different depending on what brain wave you're in!!
Ahhh! I’m so happy to see these collaborations you’ve been doing lately girl! I’ve been doing a lot of Rosicrucian studying lately which talks deeply about this topic. ironically you always drop videos that sort of correlate with my current studies. How would you compare Astral world/lucid dreaming versus the internal and external subconscious? Aside from Jungian theory with the definition? Or is it essentially the same to you?
My grandma was in a Rosicrucian order! How cool that you're studying it. Your question is sooooo hard to answer, kind of like the question of "what's actually the actual realm and what's imagination or are they partially the same thing." I think it's more of a philosophical debate and there are no right answers. We simply don't know 100% what the astral realm is. For me, lucid dreaming is the deep subconscious where you still have control of your surroundings. This differs from the rest of the astral realm (especially with astral projection) where we no longer have control over what we see because it's not our minds controlling what's happening.
@@IvyTheOccultist “My grandma was in a Rosicrucian order!” Me: th-cam.com/video/w5RuLOBbn4A/w-d-xo.html Out of curiosity do you know which branch she was in? I just watched a video that broke down the inception (or rather when the manifesto released to public after the Gothenburg Press was invented, tho it’s believed these practices were being done in secrecy before the Ancient Egyptians) and there’s like 5 in America alone on top of the ones in Europe. Each one is so different, even your “favorite” guy Crowley’s OTO was deeply rooted with Rosicrucian at its core! 😂 But I agree with you breakdown. I’ve sort of labeled my “door to wonderland” as the “in-between” entrance to the external subconscious as I too know what you mean to “walking into a free world”. It’s when my brain goes from alpha to Zeta lol Have I mentioned you’re like the best and my fave? Keep doing what you do. I’m so proud of your progression thus far 💜
Amazing! My 2 favorite Witches! I have finally gotten myself to meditate. When I meditate I do use a tea containing Damiana. I like to begin with waking up my solar plexus and when I feel my entire body get warm, I like to release my astral body. I love caverns and I go to my limestone rock cavern under the Earth. We actually have a lot of caves and caverns where I live and we have a well where our water comes from a limestone cavern. So far I have torches in my cavern, a limestone throne, and a special pool of healing water that I use to wash with and to drink from. I see my cavern as my healing place. After hearing what you both had to say, I think I would like to have a library in my cavern. I will work on that. Thank you both for sharing your experiences with meditation and astral travel!
My first experiences were as a child, many of The times resulted in projective catalepsy (sleep paralysis) and when I did project it would be in my bedroom, but I do feel like there are many techniques for accessing the astral realm and or projecting the consciousness outside of the physical body to travel to other realms as well. A book that I have found very valuable that goes into not only the experiences of out of body travel but the science of it as well (Projections of the Consciousness: A Diary of Out-of-Body Experiences by Waldo Vieira).
This sounds more like my personal experience. I do suspect that when you slip into that twilight sleep paralysis phase, you have a window of opportunity to leave your body.
@@Rose-bg6pf Yes. Precisely. That borderline between not waking all the way up and not falling all the way to sleep, quite a discipline. At that point I would tune into the frequencies and my ear drums and then my body would begin to vibrate intensly, which for me was a part of the separation process.. Doing it from sleep paralysis seem to be one of the more convenient methods although it's super uncomfortable.. Now it doesn't happen as often but I do believe that's due to my personal anxiety 😟. I started to realize that when I utilized inhibitors the very next morning I'm in paralysis.. I feel like it's more uncomfortable when you're not expecting it LOL.
So interesting! I used to experience sleep paralysis more frequently when I was younger going to sleep or waking up in the morning. I have encountered entities on three separate occassions but mostly it's just sleep paralysis. I've reached the point where I'm able to just relax and remain calm until I can move again as long as I'm...well...alone in the room. Heh.
@@Rose-bg6pf Yeah I don't know what it is about being younger and it happening more often but probably because we're more pure and in tune.. For me it was almost every other morning, I would literally have to force myself into dreams to wake myself up out of the paralysis from the dream.. and as a child all I'm thinking is I'm gonna bea vegetable forever 🙃.. Now when it happens and I don't want to be stuck in it I usually just hum, the vibration generally realigns the soul body back to the physical body. And it's really the only sound the body can seem to produce in that state of consciousness LOL. It's a little unfortunate because now that I want to practice separation from the body it happens much less so there seems to be less opportunity..for now.. I'm so intrigued by extra-physical travel.
@@devilish_desirez3845 I have been able to leave my body and walk around my bedroom once. Then last year I was trying the sleep paralysis method and started to sit up out of my body but as I separated I got startled by the sound of my own snoring thinking it was something else breathing in the room with me. 😅 I instantly snapped back into my body. Next time I wont let the fear bug get ahold of me. Have you noticed it's easier if you lay on your back as opposed to your side?
I do not think I have ever clicked on a video this fast! There are so many similarities in the general aspect of how ya'll do it to how I do it, it makes me laugh 😂. I hated meditation for the longest but it layed the ground work. However it wasnt until diving into shamanism that the astral work became "easy". Then the more astral work I did the more my dreams changed and eventually lucid dreaming became an accessible tool. I think the body scan meditation is a great one. All body focused/centered meditations are going to really ground you and allow that trance state to come much much easier in my opinion I need to go check out the Norse Witch!
Oh I TOTALLY agree with your comment about shamanic journeys making astral work "easy" because it's so fun to do! Also, I'm not surprised that we are so similar! 😂 Love it
I found this fascinating. This is the first time I have heard the expression "inner temple" but aside from a few minor details The Norse Witch has hers laid out the same way as mine, including a stone altar, bench in my case, sitting next to a Lake, a underground lake in my case, at the center where I go to sink deeper into the meditation. From there I go and see Spirits I have already met with in their own littlw domains, or ask to see a new one, and follow the tug of witch way that is. Well usually *laughs* The newest Spirit I have met kind of...slid me off my bench and dragged me down i to the lake, then theough the bottom of the lake, I was confused and reset myself back on the bench, where it happened again, so I reset. The THRID time it happened, I was like "whelp, lets see who is trying to get my attention!" And just went with it.
Wow I didn’t know mine was so different I get in Alfa state sitting up and go to a beach and my spirit animal shows up she is a orca I swim out to her when I touch her I begin to breath under water and she takes me down so deep in the ocean that there is a surface below then we surface I swim to shore thank her blow her a kiss she leaves I walk to a ticki hut that has my four Astro guardians standing there and I speak to the one that guards where I want to go and they they open the portal I asked for.
That was fantastic Ivy 🎉❤🤘🏻🥳 That actually helped me alot. I struggle to find a quiet & peaceful place (I have a 3 year old 😂) But I definitely feel i have more tools to put them into action. Thanks for the informative video, to both witches present....Yous were fab🤘🏻🧛♀️🦇🔮🕯🍷🌛🌝🌜
Hello. Just recently subscribed to both y’all channel as I was researching about magick money bowl spells a month or so ago. I really enjoyed this vid so well. 🧙♀️ 😃Ime more so in the middle between a beginner and beginning of intermediate magickian. All these things talked about are the most fascinating and fun part of magickal arts. I have several positive comments but will break them down in separate comments at later time as I have multiple exciting things to say.
Very interesting! My 11 year old son is able to lucid dream and yes, I’d be lying if I said I was not jealous😂 I will wake him For school in the morning and he will tell me that he was in the best dream to let him go back to sleep, and by golly he is able to jump back in that dream 🤯
Paul & Syann Hamden are mediums who feel that the astral is like the collective unconscious of humankind. In my own trips i have mainly been in the real time zone & seldom have any interactions. Does anyone else fi d it hard to read any writing in the o b e state? PS loved your conversation 🎉🎉
Are you guys talking about full on astral projection like OBE? Or are you talking about like Mind Travel aka free form pathworking? Thanks for clarifying.
Ivey What you just said about knowing things about people and how they are feeling but not knowing how to express it well girl I’m 48 and I consider myself a practitioner of folk magik or herbal magik if you prefer but nevertheless you made the hairs stand up on my neck i haven’t heard anyone else say that the way you did it resonated with me in a big way I have been trying to find any information on it I would love to learn more about it
Hi ladies thank you for your work! I have a question…i started practicing witchcraft twenty years ago but I’ve been very distanced over the years. Long story short, heartbreak lead to spiritual awakening, my whole life has changed blah blah blah. I listen to binaural beats or native drumming at night, and I also have epilepsy. In the past couple years I’ve started sleep walking? Usually it’s accompanied by a nocturnal seizure and I wake up in strange places covered in bruises. Last week I burned mugwort for my first time, and I woke up to my apartment thrown around- specifically the books “ moon magic” “ complete book of witchcraft “ and another book I can’t remember… I had bruises and my body was shot, feeling like I had experienced a seizure. I’ve had them my whole life this ain’t my first rodeo… but like what the fuuuudge is happening to me? Edit: my neurologist suggested I see a sleep specialist. I’ve asked the doctors, they don’t have any answers.
i am commenting here really early in the video, like a few minutes: DOES ANYBODY ELSE NOT DREAM? i think one of my problems with Astral stuff is that i cannot even Dream. doctor-prescribed pharmaceuticals i have to take cause me to black out when i fall asleep, and next thing i know, i wake up hours later. it's probably like actually dying-you never even know you passed out-there is nothing, not even a dream, to account for that time. MILLIONS are on these medications, but i've never heard anyone except myself talk about this. YES, i can still imagine, "daydream," during waking-hours, but not sleeping.
I actually know quite a few people that never dream! A lot of it depends on your sleep cycle. Dreaming occurs mostly in REM so if you aren't spending much time in REM then you probably won't dream. Also, a lot of medications actually inhibit the REM stage which inhibits people from dreaming. I'd feel real weird just blacking out for 8 hours to be honest 😂
I love your collabs! It took me forever to watch this cuz it triggered meditation snippets (that's the only way I can explain it) in me. I do have a question ... so I'm clairaudient. What I'm wondering is ... could listening to ambient music, nature sounds, drumming, etc., actually hinder my ability to get messages? The possibility only occurred to me while I was listening to this. Thank you both for sharing your experiences. I do watch Bente's channel as well so I'll watch that video tomorrow. Many blessings to you both! ❤
Hmm... That's a really great question! I think that's going to be different for every person. You might just have to experiment and see what helps and what doesn't. I will say though, once you surpass the alpha brainwave state and get into theta which is a very deep trance, you don't hear your surroundings anymore. So, it probably won't matter at that point... I'd just put on whatever helps you get in the mood and whatever helps you to relax!
Same here! Music/binaural beats/guided meditations have actually helped me because having those sounds to focus on lets me tune out the static, so to speak.
Need help. I did sit and worked on meditation fully 5 times and each time something happened that I couldn’t control or explain.u head grew heavy and I looked up at the ceiling/sky and I couldn’t move or control it. I wasn’t scare but a little worried- should I be worried?
Please note the place I was doing the meditation was in a house I was in the process of leaving because it was very unhealthy and there was something that attacked me in the middle of the night (another story).

Ahh, this makes me so happy! I am so glad the topic resonated with you. Thank you for the wonderful comment 🙏🖤
Yes!! This is all great advice. Thank you friend!
Great video folks - really enjoyed it
Huzzah! Double crossover episodes 😂❤ I'm excited!!
😂❤️
I am so glad that I grow mugwort but let me tell you the seeds have went everywhere and it's growing everywhere
this may be my favorite video with the Norse Witch!
You guys are sweet together. I hope you will be friends forever. ❤
This is great. I recently came across The Norse Witch’s channel and I really like her content. It’s interesting
❤️❤️❤️
I know I leave a lot of messages! But thanks again. I loved this video and I hope my comments help your algorithms. This one deserves some $$$$ . Hopefully one day I can just hand it out like candy on Halloween. Thanks again lovely ladies.
Thankyou for a great video
Michael Raduga has a great book called The Phase which details another non-meditation method for astral/obe besides lucid dreaming which he calls the indirect method. This is also what I believe Robert Monroe was hinting at in his third book also
And Robert Bruce has a good method as well.
I loved getting to hear you guys together!!! Before I started meditation I ONLY went into the astral through lucid dreaming, and it definitely feels different depending on what brain wave you're in!!
Thank you! ❤️❤️ I'm so glad you agree, it definitely feels different depending on the brain wave!
I was so excited to see this collab on my homepage! 😁 I love the content both of you make 💜
@@IvyTheOccultist “My grandma was in a Rosicrucian order!”

Out of curiosity do you know which branch she was in? I just watched a video that broke down the inception (or rather when the manifesto released to public after the Gothenburg Press was invented, tho it’s believed these practices were being done in secrecy before the Ancient Egyptians) and there’s like 5 in America alone on top of the ones in Europe. Each one is so different, even your “favorite” guy Crowley’s OTO was deeply rooted with Rosicrucian at its core! 😂
But I agree with you breakdown. I’ve sort of labeled my “door to wonderland” as the “in-between” entrance to the external subconscious as I too know what you mean to “walking into a free world”. It’s when my brain goes from alpha to Zeta lol
Have I mentioned you’re like the best and my fave? Keep doing what you do. I’m so proud of your progression thus far 💜
This was immensely helpful. Thank you
This was so informative and so fun
I love the idea of your cavern! Sounds like a very cozy place. ❤️❤️❤️
All body focused/centered meditations are going to really ground you and allow that trance state to come much much easier in my opinion
I need to go check out the Norse Witch!
Oh I TOTALLY agree with your comment about shamanic journeys making astral work "easy" because it's so fun to do! Also, I'm not surprised that we are so similar! 😂 Love it
THANK YOU BOTH!
Well usually *laughs*
The newest Spirit I have met kind of...slid me off my bench and dragged me down i to the lake, then theough the bottom of the lake, I was confused and reset myself back on the bench, where it happened again, so I reset. The THRID time it happened, I was like "whelp, lets see who is trying to get my attention!" And just went with it.
Honestly, just going with it is the best way to have an astral adventure! 😆
Thank both of you for great content! 💜💫
That was fantastic Ivy 🎉❤🤘🏻🥳
That actually helped me alot. I struggle to find a quiet & peaceful place (I have a 3 year old 😂)
But I definitely feel i have more tools to put them into action.
Thanks for the informative video, to both witches present....Yous were fab🤘🏻🧛♀️🦇🔮🕯🍷🌛🌝🌜
whoohoo love you ladies.
Love Alice in Wonderland. Great idea,Thanks, Ivy❤
I loved this!!!
I am becoming more interested in getting to know Odin. He has been traveling in the background of my pracrice for a while. ❤
Ive always liked meditation, I was a natural! Funnily enough, as Ive had more training, it has become harder 😂 because I start thinking about it.
I love the Norse witch ❤ I’ve been wanting to work with mugwort for dreaming
Very interesting! My 11 year old son is able to lucid dream and yes, I’d be lying if I said I was not jealous😂
I will wake him For school in the morning and he will tell me that he was in the best dream to let him go back to sleep, and by golly he is able to jump back in that dream 🤯
Well I'm jealous of him too... I wish I could easily jump back into a good dream! Must be nice 😂
Ivey What you just said about knowing things about people and how they are feeling but not knowing how to express it well girl I’m 48 and I consider myself a practitioner of folk magik or herbal magik if you prefer but nevertheless you made the hairs stand up on my neck i haven’t heard anyone else say that the way you did it resonated with me in a big way I have been trying to find any information on it I would love to learn more about it
love!! u should do an episode with mint faery if u haven't already!!
I love her! Maybe some day!
@@IvyTheOccultist thanks for the feedback!
Same here! Music/binaural beats/guided meditations have actually helped me because having those sounds to focus on lets me tune out the static, so to speak.
What about people who cant visualise, like me. What do you do then? I meditate everyday for around 15mins, now slowly building up the time.
What book is it that they mentioned about inner work ?
Are they any good devices available to the public that can reliably tell you what brainwave state you are in besides an EEG machine at a hospital?
yes I forget the Theta cuz i fall asleep lol
Same 😂
🕊🦇🔥🔥😊
Let me smoke sthg and revisit the video. Where was the advice for beginners? Hahahahaha. It was a wee bit too thick for us newbies. 😢
There's timestamps on the video and you can totally skip to the section about advice for beginners! 😊
why do western witches always want to explain everything though, it's inexplicable
