Yeah, unfortunately all Boeing 737 MAX 9 got grounded because of this incident. Edit: to all the people that say that unfortunate is the wrong word, I’m saying it because this aircraft has already been grounded before and because it’s a nice plane.
Think I heard that many boeings of the same make or in the same area were recently checked and a majority or close to a majority had missing or loose door parts, which was the cause of this incident

Bit of an update to that plane video, it wasn't a door that blew out, but instead a "Door Plug" In smaller aircraft the spot where that 'door' is, is optional so most companies (in this case Boeing) opt to just use a plug to close the gap, it's recently been found that several other planes that have these plugs have loose bolts, and that's what allowed the door plug to pop out. Luckily, the two seats that the door was at were unoccupied, it is rumored that the people that would've been sitting there missed their flight. Boeing is under a lot of (deserved) scrutiny right now, cutting corners in the air industry costs lives. All of the 737 Max 9 (The plane in this incident) are grounded until they can be inspected.
While they have found loose bolts on other planes, they don't know yet what caused the failure. The failure mode suggests that other bolts were missing altogether.
@@HotelPapa100 I saw Blancolirio's report and there were bolts that were obviously loose, but they haven't found the other side of that fitting. They suspect those were missing completely.
You’re almost correct, all of that model plane have the option of more seats and if you have more seats then you need the door plug removed and replaced with a real door to meet the regulation of sufficient exits for the number of passengers. I think the rumour that passengers missed their flight is wrong, when they descended to 10,000 feet the passengers were removed, this is not fact, this is my opinion.
Sorry, thought I'd just jump in here. In higher density aircraft configurations of the 737-MAX9 aircraft (not necessarily smaller or larger aircraft), an additional emergency exit is required to ensure everyone can evacuate in an emergency. In lower density configurations such as the one on the Alaskan 737-MAX9 involved in the incident, this door is not required. As such, it is made inoperative and "plugged" shut, but the door frame is not removed. Cladding on the inside of the plane is often placed over the plug door, so from the inside you may not even notice it's there.

The full video is linked in the description. Assistive technologies like these don't exist in a vacuum-they work together with other technologies like eye-tracking to help people with disabilities interact with technology (depending on what input method suits them best). I heard about the plane door a few days ago, I’m still in absolute shock that something like that could happen. massive props to the pilots for landing the plane safely!
any pilot can land a plane without a door - it would barely change any flight characteristics, if at all, except for the need to wear a mask above 3000 feet. Meh... no props given because no 'special skill' above standard pilot skills required.
"massive props to the pilots for landing the plane safely!" - weird flex there... ANY pilot who can't land a plane without a door safely, shouldn't be a pilot. It's the exact same as any other landing.
So from working at a pizza parlor, I can tell you that the pizza you get in the store can be different from the pizza you get on delivery for the reason that the store pizza doesn't have to fit in a box. Since they measure the dough out the night before and proof it in the walk-in, the dough ball is the same size for every pizza of the same size. So the store pie will generally be thinner than the one you get in a box. In general, I prefer the thinner crust store pie. So that video actually made perfect sense to me, and I wouldn't have any problem if that was done to my order. It might also be a way of fitting a 16" pie in a 14" box. Either way, it's better than having super-thick dough.
Actually there was fuel shortage but only for a day in Hyderabad city but not all around India. Also I’m pretty sure it was only this guy who rode horse to deliver and even got some reward from the company as well!
There is fuel shortage everywhere because of the truck driver protest. People panic brought fuel in a large quantity and there were no truck drivers to refuel the petrol pumps.

I ABSOLUTELY HATE FLYING, but I was stationed in Germany, so I did it a lot. The worst flight was when I was in Iraq. You have to take a Black Hawk to get to the main airport to fly back to the States for your 1 week of leave. I was shaking in my boots just knowing I was about to climb in that thing. We took off, and halfway up, the pilot had to do evasive maneuvers to dodge an rpg and the PHUKIN DOOR ON THE BLACK HAWK CAME FLYING OPEN!!!!!! Needless to say, I was a bit FREAKED OUT!!!! I made it to the airport, though, and spent my whole leave thinking about how when I flew back, I would once again be on a DAMN HELICOPTER!!!! Now that I'm out of the Army I will NEVER get on another thing that flies.
Not a strike by the gas stations rather the union was forcing all truck(including trucks delivering fuel) and bus drivers to do a strike against the new hit-and-run rule(Basically increased punishment/jail time if you hit someone and run off instead of helping the victims)
@@AbhijeetSingh-xr2ex That seems like a really weird thing to take a stand against. It's basically the same as saying, "I demand to be given leniency if I leave somebody to die."
@@gurvmlkhe didn't say the full thing... The protestors main stand was not against increasing the jail time of hit and run. In rural places of India where highways lead through if someone gets into an accident the person guilty if caught will be publicly abused and beaten in the name of public justice which made hit and run sensible for the driver because if they stopped thier life may be in danger. the law makers thought of the victim by applying the law over the truck drivers to take the victim to the hospital but didn't think about the driver's safety. The protest was to address the safety of the driver as well as the victims.
I used to be a flight attendant and one problem we had was getting people to buckle their seatbelts prior to take off and prior to landing. This will set a short-term precedent and people will follow the rules briefly and then eventually go back to their routine of not paying attention or following direction.
@@mkvv5687 Some were oblivious, but many wanted to be the rebel and had the demeanor of not wanting to be told what to do. Jesse Jackson was on a flight and before take off was told politely to put his tray table up. He sat there for 1 minute with his hands on the table and ignored the FA. He eventually gave in. Another FA said he does that all of the time and is looking to start a conflict. if belts aren't fastened and tray tables aren't up the plane can't move.

Maybe OP isn't talking about the pineapple, but the fact that the customer is cheated for two slices of pizza. You can bet that the price of that pizza doesn't take into account the missing piece.
Dang, that's kinda scary. Imagine that door popped off at 30k feet or higher... my dad is a fighter pilot, he lost cabin pressure at around 45 to 50k feet one time, and only had a few seconds to switch to emergency oxygen before blacking out. he had to emergency descend, and a few hours after he landed he started having symptoms of the "bends" and had to go to a hyperbaric chamber for several hours to be brought slowly down to normal altitude air pressure.
I feel like people greatly exaggerate the amount of time they have to get to an oxygen supply. Just about anyone can comfortably hold their breath for at least a minute without blacking out, if not longer. That's 0 oxygen.
This is very different with altitude changes and pressure changes, especially at altitude when losing cabin pressure suddenly. You are not at sea level. He legitimately only had maybe a few seconds before a complete blackout. He wasn't getting enough oxygen, and his body was suddenly thrust into a different, lesser pressure, forcing the air out of his body cavities. Plus, he had no time to prepare. It's not like you can just "hold your breath" in that kind of scenario. Plus, he had been pulling Gs, which is a very strenuous activity. He lost cabin pressure, hurt his ears, lost his breath, and recognized the signs of blacking out. He then rapidly switched to emergency oxygen and descended as fast as possible without hitting other jets. @@k-isfor-kristina

Assistive technologies like these don't exist in a vacuum-they work together with other technologies like eye-tracking to help people with disabilities interact with technology (depending on what input method suits them best). What may seem like a miserable piece of tech to you is a way for someone with a disability to regain their autonomy.
@@micah_wongI believe they meant typing with this is a miserable experience, not that the technology itself is miserable
@@lonelybookworm You could be right. Either way, referring to it as "that shit" didn't really help. Also, the full video shows that it was not quite miserable to use...the original comment implies that the original creator cut the video short, but that was just this channel 🤷🏻♂️

I heard about the plane door a few days ago, I’m still in absolute shock that something like that could happen. massive props to the pilots for landing the plane safely!
I think that plane uses jet engines. They wouldn't have any need for props, massive or not.
any pilot can land a plane without a door - it would barely change any flight characteristics, if at all, except for the need to wear a mask above 3000 feet. Meh... no props given because no 'special skill' above standard pilot skills required.
I would’ve had to step in
"massive props to the pilots for landing the plane safely!" - weird flex there...

2:24 correction: there is no fuel shortage here, it was just a three days strike of gas stations for some reason.
@@gurvmlkyeah, wth

Were people simply oblivious? Did you ever have defiant ones? I always keep my belt loosely fastened to handle turbulence (or doors popping off).
@@RADIUMGLASS Hmm. It's apparent that many fail to make the switchover from rebellious teenager to cooperative adult. Some feel that cooperation is herd mentality. Lmao as an aviation person, the fact they had to ground all the planes of the same model is so funny
Wow!
That's quite a story!
Glad that he recovered
I just read that the plane was at 16,000 feet.

It's one thing for a material to be able to repair itself in some way. But what I find most fascinating about the helmet is that it knows to go back to that shape, rather than return to the natural shape it would've had prior to being forged into a helmet.
That's the trick.
It's forged in such a way that the helmet shape becomes it's "natural shape", that's where it returns.
@@BuranStrannik The truth of why makes it no less fascinating.
Yup also true. Not everyday you meet a "magic" metal that just unbends itself.
That plane seat was empty because the person who would’ve sat there actually missed their flight. Most unlucky lucky person in the world.
For those commenting about how calm everyone looked on that flight: That video was taken *after* the pressure had normalized and they were reassured by flight attendants that they'd be fine while making an emergency landing. I can GUARANTEE you that they were not so calm when it happened. Read a lot of stories of people calling and texting loved ones their goodbyes because honestly who wouldn't think that was going to be a one-way trip immediately after that happened?
I honestly would have a panic attack. I fly a lot and still get nervous on very turbulent flights, so I cant imagine what those poor passengers went though. I'm not afraid to say that I would be very scared.
