Worked great! Couldn’t get recovery mode.. this worked like a charm!
What did he write at 2:13??
Thank you, this helped me a lot!
Thank you! This saved my life!
This was good, I was able to accomplish the task, thank you. But I had to go over it back and forth to figure out what you were typing in. Try keeping your camera still and talk clearer explaining what you're doing. I gave you a thumbs up. Thank you.
This worked, thank you.
Worked like a charm!

Jeremy, I am now just getting around to this processes with my Mac OSX 10.6.8 I need the last three letters that alows me to access to change my password. May I have the three letters please. Thank you!!
Thanksss bro 🎉
Once i tried to log in with the new password it said your user account password is different from your fileVault password and its asking me for the old password
thanks a lot brother
you helped me revive my 15 years old i mac leopard 🙂🙂
Great!
at 2:30 i get "the daemon encountered an error processing request." after typing passwd [username]
Doesnt work on mine - the mount -UW / just says no such drive or directory?
this is what worked for me on OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard
#1 fsck -fy
#2 mount -uw /
#4 passwd username
For today's MacOS (I believe Catalina and later), this method is disabled. You have to use Recovery>Terminal to delete the user's password, and that user's keychain will go with it. There's a newer video out there about it.
mount uw , mention illegal what I should do???
Its Ls(lower case l) not is. Means list 2.12
After the mount -uw /
What the next command
nice! thank you for this! very helpful though I had to read all the comments to find what's written at 2:13 (ls) :)
What was written at 2:13
@@Evan-tq7uc ls
When I type is it says cammand not found
What did you write at 2:13 ? Im currently stuck on that part
ls /Users [first letter is 'L' in smallcase]
how can a video be so bad but so good. overall great tho
When you don’t show the lettters how do you expect us to see it
I agree with Lillian you can’t tell what you type when it gets blurry
Too many steps out of focus, we are left wondering what you typed at several points - if we could fill in the blanks we wouldn't need the tutorial - as the youngsters say, EPIC FAIL -
This had the potential to be very helpful. Sadly it wasn’t :(
What a POS tutorial. It would freaking help A LOT if you told us wtf you were typing. Smh.
I couldn't make out root directory I could see what he was typing because it was too blurry and I couldn't see the keys because camera was moving too much. 😠😠
I get command not found please help me reset .I entered the proper user name with correct spelling
If you visit my newer video of this I made a few months ago, it should have better viability for the commands
What do u type on 2.13 ???? Plsss
VLOGS MUMBAI -YT- did you ever figure the answer out
ls /Users
He just typed "ls" to list all the files in the root directory
ls /Users [first letter is 'L' in smallcase]
What was 2:13 pls write the full thing in the reply box thing
I'm on a 2017 MacBook Pro this is not working at all
Darryl Green well, for you... ya need to press command + r, it will hopefully (I think ) say max OS X utilities, go to utilities then terminal... type reset password

th-cam.com/video/SNHU9BTsYkA/w-d-xo.html
A little messy at the end but I understand the discreetness. 2:13 I almost lost my mind. ‘ls’ then passwrd with a familiar user name
What did he type in at that point bro?
Mate thank you thank you THANK YOU so much for saving my ass
not cear command code
If I type in passwd [my account name] then it says The daemon encountered an error processing request
Juri03 how'd you fix it?
@@steffin001 I watched an other video because this one isnt good. But Im sorry I dont remember which one it was

@@deborahparadise4332
Yep and I don't want to reset to factory because I'll loose all my info.
At 2:13, type Ls
th-cam.com/video/SNHU9BTsYkA/w-d-xo.html
Lower case L S = ls
