  • Putting Savarez Argentines on my 2017 Standard Stratocaster slammed the bridge into the body. It played well, but I decided to try to float the bridge anyway.
The bridge is floating again, and the guitar feels like it should.

Do you use the vibrato arm? If not just place it flat on the body and putca small piece of wood between the block and the body to keep it still. If you use the arm for wobbling the strings a small 2/3 mm gap is all you need from the bridge to the top of the body. Anyway, the best way to learn is always trial and error. Happy music making!!!

No, never. I keep thinking I might. Blocking it as you suggest would be more work...

Savarez for electric? Which are these?

Argentine New Concept 1610, 10-45. They are marketed as acoustic strings, but having a steel core means they also work for electric.
