Knowing that they have head gasket issues , I would check the head gasket and lap the valves and check valve guides and new valve stem seals

Great job as always Bro - Rock on! Can't wait to see this done. FWIW it can be a little unwieldy but remember that Xentry also has WIS. You can lookup center console removal there.

Also you could hook a battery and run a compression test before re installing the motor 😉😉

I had really bad leak down numbers on a customer's 380SL, which often do have valve issues, but the entire problem was carbon crud from the air injection system on a few of the valves keeping the them from sealing. It almost felt like a defeat after a bunch of engine out service on the thing, I had a zip tie fall off while doing the timing chain and found it was worth pulling the engine anyway because of some hardened coolant seals in the front cover that could introduce coolant into the oil if unlucky. The M111 also has some coolant seals in the front cover, I'd highly recommend pulling the front cover if you decide to do the head gasket. I'd probably just send it, these engines are so cheap.

@@EdwardM104 yea in this case I’m moving forward and sending it for that exact reason. It’s checked out healthy and replacements are cheap enough and plentiful

@@ANDERZENAMG I bought my M111 for literally $2, plus auction fees and tax, so $2.62 total. Currently working on wiring my microrusEFI to connect to the stock harness.

I have 04 crossfire 6 speed. I emailed garagistic and they said it wouldn't work for my m113k. And kangaroos team site says I'll lose my lockout. Is there a way around this? I really want to upgrade the shifter while the engine is out getting built. The car is a 03 slk230 all of this is going in
