  • Although Skechers may not be known for their cutting-edge fashion, they’ve made some big strides in the travel world with their latest travel shoe-the GOwalk 4. View Our Full Review: packhacker.com/travel-gear/sk...
    0:00 - Intro
    1:30 - Aesthetic & Style
    3:36 - Comfort & Technology
    5:53 - GOwalk 3 Vs GOwalk 4
    8:02 - Durability & Testing
    9:34 - Pros & Cons
    10:00 - The Verdict
When you think about the world’s most fashionable brands, let’s be honest, Skechers isn’t going to be at the top of your list. The footwear company has always put performance and comfort before cutting-edge fashion-allowing a certain “comfortable Mom and Dad shoe” stigma to arise-which, to be fair, has worked out very well for them, considering they’ve become a global juggernaut with over 2500 stores in 160 countries.
In this review, we’re going to be checking out the GOwalk 4’s-the latest iteration of their travel shoe-which we have been testing for the last two months. Oh, and we’ve previously tested the GOwalk 3’s for over a year, across seventeen countries, in various climates and terrains-so we like to think we know the GOwalk series pretty well.
Overall, After some extensive testing with the GOwalk 3’s, plus our recent experiences with the new and improved GOwalk 4’s, we can’t recommend these shoes enough. The GOwalk 4 is an incredibly comfortable shoe that won’t let you down, even if you walk all day, every day. It is clear that Skechers is slowly brushing off that unsavory stigma by making some great shoes that not only feel good, but look good too. Our gripes were minimal, and quite frankly, have little to no effect when it comes to everyday use of the shoes.

I replaced my worn out Hush Puppies loafers with this as my school shoes 3 years ago and it was the best decision I made even though it was above my mom's budget back then. I wear the gowalk 4 wherever I go and there were even times when I think if I should go for comfortability (gowalk) or style (converse) for the day. My mom said I should have gone a half size bigger for more comfort since I bought it exactly as my foot size.

I have owned Skechers in the past and I can agree that they are one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned, I wore the hell out of them. Great for a lazy day. But in terms of looks and versatility.. Honestly it's a miss for me. But great video as usual. :)

    • @xylesx

Wow, I did not expect a response. I personally like having a pair of Timberland shoes, not the boots of course. I personally find their shoes with the OrthoLite® feature particularly comfortable to walk for long hours. Some of the designs can definitely be passed off as smart casual and casual. But I personally like to bring a pair of lightweight slippers such as Havaianas around which fulfils my needs for 'very casual' kind of look.
But I do admit that Skechers have come a long way since its initial design. I own a pair of GoWalk2 in the past and it's really hard to match with my clothings. I'll probably give them another try in the future.

Hey Clara - we haven't experienced this, but in warmer climates, we do prefer to wear these with invisible socks like the Darn Tough No Show Invisible Socks here packhacker.com/travel-gear/darn-tough/solid-top-down-no-show-invisible-light/ - plus, because they are made from Merino wool, they are temperature regulating and breathable too. Hope this helps! 😊

I'm going to Japan in June (rainy season) and these certainly look comfortable enough for all of the walking I'll be doing, but what about the rain? The video says that they repel water, but I'm concerned, depending on how much it rains, if my feet will be wet.

    • @PackHacker
      @PackHacker  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hey! We found the Skechers GOwalk 4's more water-resistant than the GOwalk 3's, and while we found that they did repel water in light showers, they're not going to hold up as well in heavy rainfall. Hope this helps! 😊

Pack Hacker. Hey Tom! Sorry if my comment came off as rude but I think sketchers is one of those brands that screams "tourist", at least here in Germany. I would recommend a few alternatives: Teva Originals, Adidas ultraboost X, Nike lunar run series, Vans classics, timberland 6" boot, fiveten access knit, all come in women's and men's and would be more everyday shoes capable of lots of walking and less technical hikes depending on the weather of the locale.
