Extremely important and relevant discussion at the end of 2020
Wow the universe lined up because I listened to the other 2 episodes with you and JP yesterday and boom part three is out, Thanks for being a beast y'all two! I worked out hard today, cleaned my room, and ate badass. God bless.
Love it when that happens
Hell yea. Hope you’re still grinding, I know I am.
I love how every time Jocko opens up with a story/reading something of importance and impact. It's really cool, unique and a great opener.
It’s May 2021 when I’m listening to.... and this is more relevant than ever to America as it stands right now
Absolutely it just goes to show what happens when corruption stops feigning to care and pulls back the curtain to be obnoxiously in the public face, totally unchecked or even openly supported by those who could care less about empirical & historical facts, regardless of sociopolitical or legal norms while the public outcry reaches a fevered pitch.
This, in my opinion, is easily in the top 10, maybe even top 5 most powerful podcasts/discussions that JBP and Jocko have ever done. Every freshman in college should hear this discussion.
Started watching this eating pizza.
I did not finish it.
The pizza or the podcast?
@@christopherbiondi7397 Yes.
“Yes” 😂
I slowed my eating but kept eating.
Good.
Stand by to get some (knowledge).
jp would say (wisdom).
Lol, the word which suddenly has new meaning
"That was a rough beginning Jocko". Understatement of the century.
Peterson is likely the GREATEST Philosopher of our time! Always a DELIGHT Getting to listen n ponder everything he discusses.
At least approaching the level of Eric Weinstein
Wish I could've had one of these guys as an NCO or a Professor.
Ive put off watching this podcast for a while but im hooked now. Amazing content
God damn, what an intro, sheesh...
Frank Jesus Christ! I’m half way through the Gulag Archipelago, and it’s nowhere near that graphic!
Jocko does this a lot. It's always something insane and disturbing. This guy could read books for a damned living.
I thought the same thing and then when Peterson was like “that was a rough start” I just busted out laughing. I was so captivated and grossed out by that intro.
615kane I’m aware, the Gulag gets all the hype but that other books sounds intense as fuck!
Daily reminder that socialism always ends in starvation and genocide.
I have to say that of all the recurrent people in the Jordan Peterson universe, the Jocko discussions are among the most intense. Very pleasurable and very practical.
Truly enjoyed this one. Thanks!
[edit:] .. and this one made me a subscriber.
Jocko and Jordan. A duo as timeless as Cheetos and coca-cola.
Especially Cheetos with hot sauce and lime juice
no cheetos and coke here
This is Jocko's podcast. You mean organ meat and kale. Followed by a ten mile run because don't be a pussy.
STEAK AND MOLK BRO
Francis LaPenna I like to think of Coffee and Deadlifts.. but you do you.
Thank you for this vital interview. It gave me the courage finally to purchase Gulag Archipelago. I have listened to Dr. Peterson talk about it often, and I recall one time he said something like "By the way I don't recommend it," referring to how grueling the read is. I have been afraid to confront the information it delivers, because I was never sure I had the courage to face it and not collapse into despair. But now I know I must.
As a former Communist, former member of Communist Party of Canada... The amount of pure ignorance I had as a teen up till I was 20. I always thought I'd be a benevolent leader, I would do this right because I'm a righteous person.
How naive I was, glad I found JP when I did and others such as Dave Rubin and Sargon of Akkad. Reading of Voltaire, Gulag Archipelago, John Locke and such.
Hey there. We're happy you recovered! But as JP says, it's up to us to change the world and stabilize the state. Canada has a long way to go since we started down this path in 2015!
Geez this podcast is so good. Well done guys
Dr. Jordan B. Peterson. No other words needed.
How do I learn to articulate my thoughts like Jordan Peterson?
S Mohan Read good book and write. Write about what you’ve read. Review you sentences and improve them.
I shall do that.
S Mohan be Born with a stratospheric IQ over 180, just to start.
Listening to him for hours and hours has truly improved my vocabulary and my ability to express myself. I noticed this at my last contentious discussion. Surprised myself.
Read:

These two guys are what’s needed
#upbeforetheenemy
🇺🇸🏴💯💪
My soul needed this today, thank you Jocko & Jordan
Carolyn Davy same! Autocorrect kept trying to change same to dame! I’m glad I noticed it! Would definitely have felt creepy otherwise!
Wish you guys had more time to talk
I love Jocko let's the man speak. No interruptions, just respect.
Wow.. I have been in a bit of a struggle with one of my older managers and now a new director in our organization. This podcast has given me a new direction to head in to protect my frontline guys and myself! Thank you gentlemen for sharing valuable information like this!
Jocko Willink and Jordan Peterson, ambassadors for modern day manhood.
Jocko seems to bring out the best in Peterson in a way the other interviewers don't. Not that Peterson is ever bad to listen to, but he hits the nail on the head every time talking to Jocko.
why isn't this popping in feeds on it's own but needs to be searched.
i had to search too and anything with JP should come up right away

Popped into my feed this morning.
Amazes me the garbage with similar view counts that pop up in trending
Popped in my feed and I don't even subscribe.
it’s crazy to see both of my internet dads talking to eachother
Goddamn!! Jocko and JP crushing it again. Both Black belts in their fields of expertise. They're brothers from another mother!
Two brilliant men, a privilege to listen to this conversation!
That fact that content like this is free blows my mind.
Support comment for algorithm. I want a 4th part of this.
Two of the best voices on podcast ! Looking forward to reading the book.
Hey dude what's the book called at the end that Dr. Peterson was talking about @ 1:32:55
if you want to know who controls you, OBSERVE those you can not criticize. VOLTAIRE.
LOL what! - you do realize that quote is actually from Kevin Strom, who is a neo-nazi, white supremacist and Holocaust denier right? - considering that it's misattributed to Voltaire (via memes) AND you posted it on this particular video made me chuckle.
Exactly! We need to stand up to those damn kids with leukemia!
I would give you the nice like, but this is so overused.
Truth Untruth That’s not a Voltaire quote, pal...
dilanka Tacitus...
That intro about the girl being tied up cut up, and the guy returning, is heart wrenching.
My first podcast, Jocko, and I walk away better, smarter, more humble, and testing my parameters.
Thnak you for a gripping interview. Gulag is on my list.
Keep it up , i will try to keep up too.
Next time Jordan is on it’d be cool to have questions submitted by listeners so the conversation can target more specific situations. Anyways great podcast regardless!
These 2 men need to run for office, Jordan; PM of Canada. Jocko, president of USA.
I'd vote for him
I wouldn't wish the oval office on my worst enemy. It is a fate worse then death.
just doing a little work, put a little podcast on in the background
"...the dead were piling up"
oh
So much to say but listening to these two guys is so uplifting. It makes me want to to be a better husband, father, son, human....
I truly enjoy when Dr. Peterson and you get together. You two communicate so well. Kindred spirits? Soul brothers? Something. It just works. Glad that Echo Charles got in there on the last quarter. If Dr. Peterson does the audiobook of "The Gulag Archipelago", Jocko, you should do the foreword. That would be EPIC. Carry on, gentlemen.
The Gulag Archipelago should be required reading in high school.
Cannot agree more. It would really help society appreciate the present.
Well we read:
Animal farm- George Orwell
Night- Elie Wiesel
Night is quite disturbing but definitely not like Gulag Archipelago seems to be
I read animal farm and night. animal farm was a great read but seems pretty entry level for books about the rationale behind the 20th century catastrophes, night was a simple retelling of the Nazi camps and a religious man trying to understand why god would let that happen. I really want to read Ordinary men, the gulag archipelago, man's search for meaning, Faust, 1984, and probably 200 hundred more excellent reads by great authors
But then how would they achieve their terrible goals?
Finally!!!! Instantly like before listening.
Thats a good sheeple.
51:14 That's what happened to my grandfather's family. We live at the borders of Russia ( in Lithuania ). When he was 7 yrs old, some villigers that were doing poorly, full of envy, because of my grandad's father success, reported him to politicians. 3 months later, whole family ended in sybiria forests. And that intro... Thank you guys.
Nobert Stanel did you draw your profile pic?
@@charliemike13 Yup
Nobert Stanel awesome! Looks amazing!
@@charliemike13 Thanks Matt.
nice to see Jordan Peterson at ease and speaking freely, not unraveling weak arguments and getting stressed out about it
These two really need a show together. They compliment each other so well.
It’s really scary that we had our own little taste of this when people would call the police on their neighbors for breaking lockdown rules during the pandemic. And what’s even scarier is that I don’t feel like anybody realized just what that leads to.
39:26 This chillingly reflects things we're seeing nowadays on #MeToo where some people have published: well, it doesn't really matter if some innocents are completely ruined - it's the movement that's most important.
i love jocko's beginning words. they just base you back into the pit of hell life can be
Please keep this series going. I don't get tired of listening to these guys
I admire p.peterson fellow Canadian , this's podcast hits home for me. On a personal level: my grand father served in the German army and was captured after Stalingrad he survived 4 yrs his release as a pow was nothing short of a miracle ,I believed his very few a counts to me about his experience ,when I decided to inlist in the Canadian military,my opa sat me down and told essentially his experience of what any one of us is capable of....I changed my mind ,and decided to serve my fellow man in other capacities thank you🇨🇦
Good evening, Ech... Jordan.
I actually laughed.

"The problem is People who define hate end up being those who are looking to take offence, so that the can find someone they can define as a victimiser, so that they can persecute them morally, and justify their inner sadism. - those are the people who end up defining the laws. And they mask their morality to say they are doing it to make their society a safe place."
So true today!
Dr. Peterson reading the abridged Gulag Archipelago? Take my money!
They got great chemistry that makes this discussion especially lively
What a great interview! Jocko and Jordan are two of the most deeply self-examining minds on the planet!
Hellish opening! Slide that into the next warrior kid book!
Didn’t a KGB defector outline the USSR’s plan for overthrowing the USA and how it revolved around propaganda and education and that it would take 20 years to see it work in education? Something like that? We can definitely see that it has been working for quite some time and is on hyper speed now.
The USSR doesnt exist anymore
Oh yeah. Yuri Bezmenov. Highly recommended.
@@krsnajihadharma-templeofth9570 yes that means all its influence, despite mostly being autonomous now because Americans do it to other Americans, has suddenly disappeared
i wish
@@krsnajihadharma-templeofth9570 Not even saying that this happened but your statement is ridiculous. The Roman empire hasn't existed for centuries upon centuries. That doesn't stop them from being wildly influential even now. There's no reason whatsoever that the Soviets influence wouldn't still be a thing in the current day.
"These people... there only as good as the world allows them to be, youll see ill show ya, when the chips are down, these civilized people....they'll eat each other..."
Two of my favourite speakers and thinkers together. Please gentlemen, continue the way you do!
I don't know why I never checked out the Jocko podcasts with Jordan Peterson but it's interesting to hear their different backgrounds come together over these topics
JP drinking game, take a shot every time he says proclivity.
@Adam Furman the devil is in the details

As I listened to the intro of this episode, I thought of several "peers" and others in my age group who are proud socialists. Everytime they mouth off I am reminded of this and similar works and am filled with dread and rage.
Been a fan of both of these men for years and I’m damn happy these podcast will be around forever. The people need to hear them
i sleep better knowing there are guys like Joko and Tim K. out there
