+EnVy Fluxzz I think someone is deleting my comments, but that's not a tank. It's a water suction pipe for a storage pond. The thing that looks like a flash diffuser is a filter.

Bronze was commonly gold in color. It was an alloy of tin, copper and sometimes silver. It all depended upon the concentration or the relative amount of copper it contained. As an aside, you should read up on your ancient finds and "bronze disease" or bronze destabilisation. I can send you some good links. Always rinse your relics in distilled water!

  • @philhubenak

2Dan, just saw this post. I know some German (language), probably enough to be dangerous, but simpler word forms are easy to sort out. That Nazi, pin, "nun erst recht." words -- closest I can translate, "now only right." Not to be confused, with, "Nuns first (and) to the right." Haha. That trans.google.com translator could help, too, for simpler translations. Be careful about short phrases too, as can be a bit off, even in 1940. Like, in German, "Du hast recht," lit.trans to, "You have right," or really, "You're right." (familiar 'du' form). Anyway, that's a fine pin specimen and consider value. It's prolly worth something to somebody quite a bit. Careful, ja, about selling to Neo-N's, like on ebay, right. if no patina - good find! No rust from ground means no iron content, after 70 years, so decent metal that. Not surprised if decent silver content, no? Less lousy Diggs; More Finds for 2Dan. Good hunting!
