Hi - I won a rhs gold medal last year so hopefully I know what I'm doing, but this is the best building video I have seen, fantastic entertainment as well as good tips. One thing though, wear safety specs when cutting granite sets, they spit razor sharp chips around - lethal.
@@sbsgardening6722 Russell Watkinson a RHS exhibitor I used to know used this technique. He did use a strong mix of 2 1/2 to 1. That would be 50kg cement to a completely full belle mixer bucket. I personally have aways used a wet mix. If I did use this technique, I may suggest putting some fine horticultural grit in the mix 4mm or 6mm. This would probably help the water spray drain into the mortar mix better and would probably help the final product.
@rugshort The cement/sand mix goes in the cracks dry so it doesn't stick to the tops of the stones. You wet the whole thing down with a hose after the cracks are filled to set the cement.
Haha. Thanks for this. Just what I was looking for to lay my Yorkshire stone cobble path. I then started watching the rest of your videos (damn you youtube I have a path to lay), Yorkshire and the Black Forest, perfect!
that's great and i wonder if i could able to get the types of cobblestone stone configuration or laying style that cab be used while paving roads or sidewalks. any suggestion welcome Thank you!
I’m laying some granite setts this weekend , 6 inch deep , flowpoint was very expensive for me when pricing , can I do a slurry mix with sand and cement and squeegee in?
Great Video Guys.....Bob Fleming lives & Breathes!! - Only the Brits can take the piss out of themselves like this.... WORD OF WARNING THOUGH - This will not carry much more weight than a set of patio furniture....The Base needs some serious compacting if you're going to run a car on it.......!
Huge piles of these were left loose on the streets in Berlin, during street repairs. Can you imagine that in the U.K.? They are perfect missile size and there would n`t be a shop window left intact.
Absolutely arrrwesome!
3 minutes to watch,
3 years to practise.
Thanks for sharing.

What if you set them up against each other and fill the gaps with straight sand?
Huge piles of these were left loose on the streets in Berlin, during street repairs. Can you imagine that in the U.K.? They are perfect missile size and there would n`t be a shop window left intact.

NJoy'd it, Nice one.
Only good thing here is the commentary. Look at 2.12. The lines are all curving. Tiny job and couldn't get them straight. Would hate to see a big job.
bollocks, it looks as good now as it did 15 years ago, never heard of photographic foreshortening
@@garryentropy you mean it looks the same as it did.
